Yes an no, people who were around for server shutdown were brought over but it's to different points in history and what they brought over is hit or miss

Hinted at in the first few chapters when they mention the 8 gluttony guys appearing out of nowhere and mercing every giant fantasy monster

So from what the PV i would guess that its 2 cour, there's a scene with skele army fighting, which happens in vol4, there's no way they could animate vol 4 with just 12 episodes even if they rush it. the question remains on weather or not the show will keep the gorey atmosphere the LN has, would say no from what the animation looks like, but we'll find out when or if they do the death knight scene

Not moon reader but you can piece together from the description of undead (the cemetary guards) and other tidbits that the spiral of death would mean harvesting the negative energy from ever-combining weaker undead -> stronger undead for purpose X. Think of the game 2048 where you combine smaller numbers to bigger, hence you need thousands of small ones to reach the big one.

For Dale it seemed to be to turn himself into something that wouldn't be restricted by limited lifespan, ie "low level" Lich so he could continue the pursuit of better resurrection magic like the momma's boy he was.

And just like Clementine wrongly guessed that Ainz was mere Lich and he responded "Close but not quite" since he was something far above it. There just hasn't been undead of his class prior in the New World, at least known to the "power sect grunts" like her.
