What does /a/ think about Kino's Journey? I went in expecting YKK+Haibane Renmei and so far it's beengood.
I've been putting it off because I can't decide whether to watch it or read it first.

It's good, but somewhat overrated on /a/. It has a nice atmosphere, but the characters and stories are a bit simple for the concept. Haven't read the LNs, though.
>>123005221
KnT's pretty cool.
Kino's cute too.
>>123005400
>but the characters and stories are a bit simple for the concept.
That's the entire point.
It's like your favourite folktales and legends in anime form.
>>123005221
Masterpiece, the Book episode was pretty trippy.
kino amurderer
Love it.
Wish the art in the show was closer to the LN though, but that's only a relatively small complaint.
>>123005482
Yeah, but folktales are usually something that is talled, while anime is visual medium which automatically conveys more information. What works in fairy tales or legends must not necessarily work in anime.
I'm not a LN person but reading >>123005787
makes me want to check it out.
>>123005976
All I know is that it worked for me.
>>123006008
Do it.
>>123005635
That was a good episode.
>>123006074
I'm not saying I didn't like it either, but it sometimes felt a bit "empty" to me. Maybe the LNs would work better. I think the content might be something that is better told than shown.
S2 ever?;_;
Or a live action movie even, if they get Shigusawa to write/supervise.
I'm probably the one who's reading Sigsawa's works backwards instead of starting with Kino.
>>123005635
>that hand trembling knife hold
Such good directing. She's scared shitless but manages to remain straight faced.
>>123005221
Probably my favorite series of all time. Not just because of the cute reverse trap protag, mind you.Never got around to reading the LNs.
>>123007021
The LN is even better about it.
>>123007055
Do NOT sexualize the Kino!
>>123007065
This reminds me of those WWI paintings and sketches by returning soldiers.
>>123007117
Of course. Kino is fortender lovingonly.
Did the LNs end or are they still going? I think this was still continuing but for some reason I always get the impression we're on hiatus.
>>123007466
It's still going. One volume a year, always in October.
>>123007838
Good to know. Maybe S2 is still possible, Japan is scraping the barrel for stories at this point.
>Parasyte
>LoGH remake
>Durarara
>Working S3
>>123005221
I liked it a lot. Kind of expected Mushishi with a cute reverse trap MC, and it's somewhat what I got.
Anyone got a download link to all the different volumes? It's all scattered when I google and I'm way to tired to piece it all together.
>>123008128
Aren't they on Baka-Tsuki? Or did they get taken down
>>123008154
Shit I'm dumb, yeah they're still there.
>>123008058
>S2 is still possible
I'd totally be down to see the chapter that introduces Ti and that one chapter where Kino kills a group of soldiers, or some anime original stories too, even.
>>123008224
As awesome as a second season would be, I wouldn't count on it. From what I've heard, S1 didn't exactly sell well.
>>123007838
>still in business
>on volume 18
Squad morale restored. There has to be at least one more season's worth of material in those 18 chapters.
I'm halfway through Volume 1 in Japanese and it's a blast to read. I'm happy to hear that I have more to look forward to.
>>123008337
There's literally enough material for several seasons at this point, anon, even more so if we include the spin-off where Kino's a high-school mahou shoujo with a machine gun and Hermes is a talking phone strap.
She's still popular enough to make it in that Dengeki Bunko fighting game, if only as an assist.
>>123008306
>S1 didn't exactly sell well.
The fact that the LN sells fairly well even now doesn't help either.
