Hanekawa herself mentions while she's spending time with Crab how she now understands why she's capable of dating someone like Araragi (Which give a hint on her own inferiority complex).
Tsukihi then mentions how Crab is the ideal girlfriend for Araragi and then Kaiki finally says how Araragi is the one who is good for Gahara.

Even if there was not a single interaction between Crab and Ararargi for the entirety of the SS, these little snippets from other characters show that they compliment each other pretty well.

So the truth of the matter is that he does love Hitagi NOW more than he loves her. But he still does love her. That is irrefutable. Their relationship changed over the course of the series, but it never stops being strong.

Yeah, I've heard about the scene and I want to see it animated.

Basically, he still 'loves her' in the sense that he's attracted to her (not just physically) and it could become a romance if he didn't resist his feelings. But after Neko Black he makes a conscious effort not to let it come to fruition.

It always bothered me how RRRG is a classic 'dense protagonist' in Tsubasa cat, but his denseness also comes from missing signs you normally wouldn't because he tries not regard her romantically.

It's even worse in the books, since Suruga Devil was released before Hitagi End. Why care about anything that happens in the 3rd season at all?
