It's still weird how someone who watches the anime sees the arcs that develop Hanekawa in the order 3 -> 2 -> 4 -> 1.
I dunno, I don't think releasing Kizu so late was a good idea. I think Kizu was an important part to understanding Hanekawa's character, and Araragi's relationship with Shinobu while we're at it.
It should've at least come out before Second Season

Kizu definitely made me like Hanekawa a whole lot more. And getting to see how Araragi and Shinobu's relationship started makes seeing it grow throughout the series so much more enjoyable. I'm looking forward to rewatching the anime now that I know how it all started

Keep in mind that in Japan they don't really give a fuck about that - everybody watching the show probably read Kizu before S1 even began. The order of the pieces doesn't matter when you're just running a glorified commercial of material your viewers already know: Monogatari just happens to print so much money that they've set up for adapting the whole thing, which is kind of a rarity.

I've read Kizu between S1 and Nise, and have to say that it sure made some references much clearer. Especially the Araragi/Shinobu bath scene wouldn't have had half of the meaning it had without reading that.
