I said this on /co/ and I say it again on here too.

I love the funny drawings but this dark stuff for adults has to stop, Simpsons may be bland now compared to the earlier seasons but is much better then this because it is light hearted, happy and sunny, not dark, sad, bitter and dingy.

Also, well I will say Trigger is the modern day version Startoons & Disney Australia, they are really the cheapest studio in Japan, even cheaper then Toei & Deen.

Things might be different if it goes under the whole "goes back to normal in the next episode" system which cartoons don't do anymore, but in the end, it's why Hamtaro (humans only) was the only anime I ever got into and why this type of stuff is best left to TMS/Telecom.

Trigger is quickly becoming one of my least favorite studios.

They are so fucking cocky with their animation, and lazy with their stories/characters.

Will they ever stop crutching on aspects of their past shows? I get the fact that a lot of the people that worked on this work in that way, but that doesn't mean it needs to define all of your future work.

This short was bad.

Honestly dissapointed that trigger would find it acceptable to use that as their entry.

The script and story were just awful. Trigger has used unoriginal idea in an entertaining way before (see little witch academia), but this was just shit I honestly walked away from the short wondering why the fuck would they make something so crappy. While the story can be excused since this is an animation expo entry, a certain amount of attention should focus on the animation over the story.

However, animation is also an issue here. Normally, when Trigger approached things cheaply (see kill la kill or Inferno Cop) they would use the cheap animation to give the production some charm. This short was just cutting every cost possible without any real purpose. The aesthetic and graphics contributed little to the story besides the first gag with the dog and sex. The actual animation was also limited in a short of all things.
While the animation can be excused as an artistic test for the studio, or compared to the limited techniques of Inferno Cop, this production still looks bad. It looks even worse when considering it is an entry to an expo for animation. Honestly a single episode of Inferno Cop would have been better than this entry.
