I posted the last one as a MT and Overlord thread, which both have mangas and Overlord if I'm not mistaken has an anime in the works and that didn't seem to stop the deletion last time
Someone started translations it's on the first chapter currently that I've found
So I tried asking this question right before the last thread was deleted.
Is Arifureta good? Do the other classmates get killed off? Is there an infuriating start like Shieldbros?
Thanks anon, i'll pick it up then.
Tokyo Ravens volume 12 never.
New watari novel translations never.
Danmachi Volume 5 chapter 2 translations never.
Arifureta is terrible, one of the worst things I have read, it's like going to fanfiction. I dropped it, couldn't handle it. I liked Mushoku Tensei, but then then it turned pretty mediocre, then it went full shit.
I'm just waiting for Tate no yuusha LN translations. Most of web novels haven't been satisfying to me.
Did you play Rune factory or Summon night? It's similar to those game, I would be bold and say that maybe the author based his story using them.
The basis is that in the middle of the city is a huge dungeon, adventurers go there, kill monster and sell the stuff in the city, while the dungeon has a lot of focus, it also focuses on the influence fight between the goddess and the typical romance.
I would say summon night 1 for GBA is literally Danmachi.
>original character is badass elder
>get turned into a loli
>oblivious of things at first
>starts flirting with old refined gentlemen types similar to her original character
>neglects pegasus because her crotch hurts when riding it for extended periods
Class changed from sage to nymph.
I'd laugh if she and solomon had to act like a couple for political reasons
Beginning good if a wee-bit "must kill my humanity to survive" edgy
Then it goes to shit because the author tries to insert gag humor and turn it into a comedic harem with the occasional complete curbstomping by the MC.
Mira-chan is adorable. I really wish the illustrations for the 2nd novel would show up. Or maybe I just suck at looking for them. Guess i should just give up and buy it. Oh well at least the author is steadily putting out chapters recently so that's nice.
by all means, feel free to contribute something.
they did? Might need to check that out.
They haven't announced it yet, but some anon listed it among others a while back on stuff that Yen Press had but didn't announce. Mahouka and DRRR were on there and they just announced that, so it's probably legit.
eh, Shieldbro is probably fourth on my list of shit I want.
who is translating this?
it is listed here
but the link doesnt go anywhere
They're announcing stuff next month at a con, so I bet it will be then. Probably won't be out until the end of the year if not early 2016, but they do have tons of shit coming out.
It's weird to say, but I'm oddly looking forward to Strike the Blood, even though it's basically the new Index.
Does anyone know if there is a site that takes requests for scanning new LNs that aren't on the internet yet? I want to translate some new stuff.
Its not really good, mostly the MC running around being an overpowered piece of shit by like volume 2.
>crafting guns, modern vehicles, bag of holding bullshit
May still read it for bunny abuse.
Seriously stop with the Overlord images. If people want to discuss shit, they'll discuss shit, the image dump doesn't help.
I'm honestly not sure. A lot of LN translators buy their own copies of stuff though.
So when is Vertical going to release those LN they announced a while ago?
No it's annoying as hell. Posting an occasional image to go along with Overlord discussion if it's happening is fine, but just mindlessly dumping images is annoying.
Crafting specifically? I'm not sure, there's lots of MMOish type stories but not many that focus a ton on just crafting like OSO does.
magicraft meister maybe.
there is translation. but not a lot
Yeah I was going to mention that one but the translations look stalled at the moment and there isn't much there so.
They're not even translating that. I think the translators just died.
Just finished trying to read the vol 3-4 of the Tate no Yuusha LN, im surprise how the editor made a rollecoaster of emotions and manage to make the story interesting after the Queen Returned. Props for making something out of the garbage source material which is the WN.
which is possible. If he was in the game when it closed, it's very possible he's still alive.
Shinka no Mi. It's basically disgusting fatass guy and his school gets transported to another world.
He becomes strong because he eats some evolution plant thing and his body odor then kills this level 200 something monkey which levels him up a ton. Then his body odor works like manly gorilla pheromones and makes this female gorilla that is really strong fall for him and she acts like a perfect waifu. Then later in a dungeon due to events, he basically confesses his feelings for her despite her being a gorilla which because of her having eating the evolution plant too makes her become a human, though she can still transform back to gorilla form for fighting since her human form is weak.
That isn't really similar to OSO.
It's not actually MMO crafting, but real world engineering with the use of magic for rapid prototyping and the world has no videogame mechanics.
He should have just stayed put and cultivated the plant, made an orchard made a army of waifus out of local creatures and then monetized the fruit for lonely people who want to bang their pets
He really couldn't, he was transported alone and it was a super hostile monster infested jungle. He did take quite a few of the seeds though
he feeds some to a donkey later and she becomes the third heroine. Second heroine was a girl with something like -2 million luck stat. Her issue was solved by a cursed accessory that had the effect "Luck x -2" so she ended up with 4 million luck and it broke.
does anyone know any wn that isnt a jumbled mess? E.g., i tried reading death march but after the 1st volume it's all just incoherent fillers. the only wn ive read that knows where it's going is MT
Death March is kinda shit though. The whole "I can learn whatever skill I want to max level just by replicating it once and dumping some of my shit-ton of stat points into it" pretty much removes any suspense.
Currently reading "Gfting the World with Wonderful Blessings." Overall, it's probably one of the funnier LNs I've read. The mc is a prick, but it seems to be more of a symptom of just how annoying his party is and how exasperating they are. It's mostly a mix of game logic with fantasy, but the better sections are the humor parts.
That one is Owari no Chronical, a sort of 'prequel' series to Horizon.
I'd say yes, it's certainly well above average for a LN. Like Horizon, it's as if the author put every idea/setting for a light novel in a blender with a heavy dose of politics and development. There's also a huge cast of characters.
I am hype. Baka-tsuki seems down to me though.
No, it's Owari no Chronicle, by the same author/illustrator.
It's definitely worth reading if you enjoy well thought out sci-fi/fantasy settings that aren't just "kid gets thrown into alternate world".
I like Darkness a lot. Has a mix of maturity and perversion. Amazing body too for that matter.
Tsuyokute New Saga have alot of potential, but only few chapters so far hard to say if it can keep up being interesting,
Arifureta needs to actually be published, get an editor-san, and clean up the chapters. Have potential but its fragmented, and also lacking illustrations.
oniai season 2 when
From the looks of it the LN is taking a slightly different path from the WN. Has an offshoot that's about Megumi's sister. Megumi got the lesser genes.
ITT: Everything anyone with a brain could find on google-fu
Man, I'm not saying you should bring an undiscovered translation site to the table, but not a fucking image dump of overlord and shit everyone has already read.
Come on man.
That isn't her sister, that's the chief's daughter and her rival/friend
This. Not mad just upset that I read basically everything. Not seen these mentioned.
Liked that zombie series since MC acts like a typical Anon would in that situation and Counterstop because my eyes are blind from MC's shines my heart.
Can I ask for recommendations here?
I need something "easy" to read, I'm still on the 5th level of 9 of my city's Japanese classes but I feel like if I don't start reading Japanese I'll never actually learn anything.
I not that bad with Kanji but I still have some problem with them.
No, but if you beg the owner of oniichanyamete.wordpress.com , he might do it. He's been doing a a couple of chapters for a few series recently trying to spark interest by other translators so they'll pick them up.
No. Why would there be? Authors put WN online so other people can do their editing and proof reading for them (Also in the faint hope someone will want to publish their work). If you want coherency (and less filler), read the LN if they got published (Death March has LNs, though the translator is only doing the WN).
Also most of the WN translators are using machine translators with minor editing, which doesn't help (Of coarse this has no relevance if you can into moon).
Death March isn't that kind of story though. The entire story is about Satou's lighthearted day to day life in this fantasy world.
If you're going into that story expecting huge plot developments and tons of serious action then you're definitely reading the wrong story.
>stopping someone from going on a genocidal world dominating rampage and reverting them back to a sane state of mind makes them a traitor
It's not about opposing Naofumi, is about betraying him.
I'm not mad at Raphtalia and co. because they clearly told him they didn't share his views.
I'm mad with the faggots who pretended to side with him and then betrayed him.
to be fair gaelion has two consciousness' inside him warring for dominance during the whole thing original both Gaelions were down with his plan but old G's daughter-fu guilt tripped him into turning around, and then baby G after the experiments got hijacked by old G (I think I'm really tired maybe that didn't happen)
Spear is a total idiot and would have sided with anyone he thought would have had the highest chance of helping him bang Firo
and without Sadina the others would never have been able to stop Naofumi
I mean really the only one who "betrayed" him was Sadina but I mean cmon
Some WNs I've been amusing myself with lately.
The rise of a man going from a slave to a king of a country for the sake of obtaining a single woman.
Rather unique story where most of the fighting and whatnot is a subplot and the main plot is just romance between the characters. The main character gets together with the heroine quite soon.
Long as fuck. Story tends to lean towards comedy but still has its serious points.
If you've read Tsuoykute new game+, this story is similar to that however instead of omitting the adventure, it spends one hell of a long time showing the adventure before pressing the reset button
Dungeon crawling, defeating villains, making a harem. Catch is that the protagonist is 10.
Protagonist is the demon king. Creating a country of demons, obtaining loyal subordinates, he works hard to create a world where he doesn't have to be killed by a hero.
Since an anime is coming out this year for it, I figure I might as well try to get some more people into the LN.
AntiMagic Academy is probably my favorite translated work at this point. Don't be fooled by the Academy cliche or synopsis, the sense of a post-apocalyptic world and war is shown very well. The balance between harem hijinks, character development, and battles are done very well. All of the women in here have substance, this includes their backgrounds and interpersonal relationships besides the MC.
The whole thing is actually kind of an emotional roller coaster. Volume 1 and 2 are good, but 3 is where things really start picking up; and it hasn't let up sense. There's a sense of urgency and struggle present throughout.
http://krytykal.org/ is translating it. He actually does other series, and has a solid, consistent translation schedule.
I don't know about groups, but I know a community of forum goers paid a professional to do Spice and Wolf ahead of time. They let people who donate to the cause get the translated version months ahead of time, as well as chapters. People who didn't donate had to wait months for the novel to be available to them, which is fair. I haven't seen another concentrated effort like that for any other LN so far.
Shit i haven't read any of these. Just recently got caught up with ワールド・ティーチャー -異世界式教育エージェント-. Also in the middle of 異世界はスマートフォンとともに. Haven't been reading much recently though needed a break. I'm still terrible at Japanese so it takes me fucking forever too.
Any LNs out there that are mostly translated? Or at least half?
After reading 8 chapters of Doulou Dalu every day for the past week I can't stand having to wait 3 months for a new 10 page chapter.
Shit, forgot an important WN.
Ever wondered what would happen if you released a twisted serial killer into a fantasy world? This is apparently the result. The protagonist begins the story by killing the god of death, following that he kills the king that summoned him. He also gains a pleasant yandere as the story goes on.
Originally 18+ WN, remade into a 15+ one though you can easily see where there was supposed to be ero scenes before the remake still. It's a story of SUFFERING and SUFFERING and SUFFERING with some light at the end of the tunnel. Only read if you have the strong will to continue even after seeing one suffering arc after another. Believe in that the suffering eventually does subside.
A relatively recently completed series. It was a nice read with things escalating every volume, revealing new truths and lots of twists and turns.
Finally, obligatory mention of 黒の魔王. Batshit crazy yandere harem with the protagonist oblivious of it. He doesn't know that his harem is doing crap like performing human experiments and sacrifices behind his back.
And in more recent developments
he finally fucked someone. And that someone wasn't in the harem before. Let the bloodshed begin.
