Sir Gawain is objectively the best Saber, that's why. He is invincible at noon, but even at midnight he has stats on par with even the best Sabers. He's a chivalrous knight, loyal to his king, and wise and courageous beyond his years. Sir Gawain is the envy of all servants and probably your best bet at winning the HGW aside from Gil.
>your best bet at winning the HGW aside from Gil.
Gawain is shit tier in a real Grail War. Have fun with your useless sun buff when all the fights happen in the middle of the night.
Who is the only good Sakura and why is it BB?
Giving respect to opponents who gave him a hard fought battle right after a narrow victory, truly a chivalrous knight.
Mordred is the best saber because she is the one that killed the worst saber
Are you retarded? Literally all the fights in Fate/Zero were at night. Only a bare minimum were during the day in Fate/Stay Night, and the majority of them were at the Einzbern forest/castle.
So unless you're going to summon Gawain and then camp out in forest hoping everyone will come to you, you're going to get your ass raped since you chose to summon a terrible Servant.
Anon from the previous archived thread asking about what if Gawain slept with Lancelot here, what if they had sex at night? Would Gawains cum shot kill Lancelot there?
In the older tales, he was said to be the best of Arthur's knights. Then others came & rewrote it so Lancelot's the best. Then people started saying Galahad was best.
The concern isn't just fighting at night, it's about fighting without witnesses. All you need to do is force your enemies to be in a place where no one is at during the day and you can fight freely.
Unless Gil is drunk off his ass and not paying any attention, Gil would probably win. Gawain would have to stop GoB spam while preventing Gil from using EA if he even deemed Gawain worth using it on.
Given the fight with Lancer, Gil would just drag the fight out until nightfall and then finish Gawain off when he was weakest. Same as Lancelot did.
>So unless you're going to summon Gawain and then camp out in forest hoping everyone will come to you
That's as much strategy as someone who summons a Caster gets, so it seems to be totally viable.
>Literally all the fights in Fate/Zero were at night
Fate/Zero had surprisingly few fights when you get down to it. Servants were mostly just spitballing at each other until everyone suddenly started dying in the last two days.
Shiki is the best Saber, because we know Takeuchi is going to go insane one day and make all the male characters into Sabers. So Armdick Saber with MEoDP.
>Things seem to be passable between the president and the vice president. While observing their exchange, Sakura pours the tea with perfect timing. But an intimidating air like a naked blade disturbs the lively atmosphere of the student council room, coming from right behind me.
>Gilgamesh :: —–.
>Leo :: ……
>Rin :: ……
>Sakura :: ……
>The atmosphere cools instantly. Gilgamesh, materialized, turns a fiendish smile not on Leo and the others, but on white-armored knight who hovers wordlessly at Leo’s side.
>Gawain :: —–.
>It’s these two. For some reason, that gentle Gawain is staring at Gilgamesh with naked animosity.
>Leo :: What is it, Gawain? It’s not like you to be so openly hostile. Do you have a problem with her Servant?
>Gawain :: …my apologies, Leo. But this is a matter of my vows. No matter what, I –
>Cannot think of Gilgamesh as an ally. “He must be removed immediately,” Gawain’s eyes proclaim. But Gawain can’t voice his own opinions in front of Leo. Consequently, all he can turn on Gilgamesh is a spirit of opposition.
>Gilgamesh :: — I see. As soon as you consecrate your sword to your lord, you suppress your own convictions and sacrifice everything you have to him until you exhaust your being. You’ve been quite well disc lined, haven’t you. Very good. In deference to your quaint old chivalry, I will allow you to begin this discussion. Knight of the Round Table. It appears you wish offer exhortations to the king. Are you sufficiently prepared?
>Gawain :: — I have nothing to say to the likes of you. I am simply incompatible with a heroic spirit who would approve of a Servant betraying their lord.
>Gilgamesh :: Oh! I see, I see, so that’s what it was! What a joy, truly the epitome of the loyal dog!
>Gawain :: …what’s so funny. I haven’t said a single word that should please a marauder like you.
Gilgamesh just picks fights with most servants for no reason here.
Galahad is never really considered the best. He's just the only knight that actually accomplished something instead of watching the entire country self destruct because that's what happens when you make a 12 year old girl that is pretending to be a boy your leader
>Gilgamesh :: You fool, did you think you’d win as long as you didn’t misspeak? By keeping your mouth shut? There are times when your very being is what betrays you. Shutting away your own will, keeping silent even in the face of one who stands against all your beliefs. What does that do for your master? Honor lies not in obedience. It is something to exemplify. Once you’ve devoted yourself to the sword and become your master’s blade, who will measure your master’s righteousness? You cannot weigh the beliefs of others when you have renounced your scales. That is why you cannot let Lancer’s “betrayal” go. But that was nothing but an alteration in their mutual paths. It is far from a betrayal. Betrayal is when you plan to walk the same path with another but then stab them in the back. If your paths are different from the beginning, you will inevitably devour one another. What very pure and high-minded king you must have served, that you don’t understand this much. An ideal king, shouldering all the expectations of the multitude, never faltering! If such a beautiful star exists, I would like to once gaze on it myself, but — it is an illusion after all. The “ideal king” people wish for is something that no mere human being is fit to be. I imagine that is why your king pitifully self-destructed from betrayal. Which is why you hold such regrets as a Servant, isn’t it? Think that this time you’ll serve a proper king.
>Gawain :: — that is absolutely not the case. My king did not err. The failure was mine alone. An amendment to my statement, King of Heroes. I do not care if you insult me. However — but if you slander my King, I will make you understand that that is a mistake you cannot atone for even if you burn three times over.
Actually, Galahad was the best. The more pure you are, the more holy, and the more holy, the more blessed, and being more blessed gives you enormous powers in combat.
Galahad's power comes from his purity and is why he is regarded as the strongest of all the KotR.
The "best" knight of the round table shifts from where the stories are told.
The original welsh is Sir Kay.
The english made it Sir Gawain.
The french invented Sir Lancelot and made him the best.
Then the germans slapped together Sir Galahad, who was Sir Lancelot's son and even better than him.
Originally Sir Kay could grow to the size of a giant and shoot fire from his hands. Welsh mythology is weird.
>Gilgamesh and Gawain. Without raising a finger, the two of them contend with their eyes alone. Gawain’s eyes hold resentment — quiet, but intense as a flame. An ill-natured smile that takes pleasure in that resentment comes over Gilgamesh’s eyes.
>Gilgamesh :: How very frightening. You may be holding on to the veil of night, but I won’t let you retrieve the shield protecting that mongrel. I will revise my statements, Sir Gawain. Though I haven’t seen it for myself of course — I imagine your king simply fell to ruin. Whether that was pitiful, or whether it was because of his subjects’ betrayal, that is no business of mine. The pure and righteous knights of a pure and righteous king. That widely famed flower, Camelot. I don’t think I could bear a day of it.
>Gawain :: …It’s not for you to understand. You are a tyrant who continuously terrorized your country, my King was protected our country, bearing our sacred sword. The ways of my King’s heart are far removed from those of a despicable mass-murderer who takes riches for his own selfish desires and takes people’s lives for no reason at all. As you said before, our paths were different from the beginning. Even exchanging words like this was pointless.
>Gawain cuts off his gaze along with his words. All of the present student council members seem to be in agreement with Gawain’s opinion. Similarly, I —
[>] No, that’s wrong.
I've always found reading these yandere-tier paragraphs to be really entertaining
In CCC, depending on how loose you are with the concept
Half the joke is that Hakuno has the unnatural ability to always attract stupidly dangerous types without trying.
Well, Sakura or Caster could be the closest thing to one. Illya has the highest Shirou death count but they aren't really for yandere reasons. I don't know about Caren since I haven't read HA.
Only slightly and in a very endearing and cute way.
I was going to read Fox Tail with hopes of getting more Melty-chan material, but it seems that she was killed off early. Freaking sucks that most Type Moon manga are boring or not as good as other adaptations (Arcueid's route's and Prism Ilya's manga been the exceptions).
It's not a straight CCC adaption, it's a new time-line entirely, where the other Alter Egos get a chance to show up instead.
For the other Alter Egos to show up, the old ones from CCC had to be killed early.
It's basically "Everything that was cut from CCC that's in the data-books, weaved together, and Caster's route, plus CCC" the manga.
It's also one of the best TM manga out there at the moment, but don't go into it thinking "Oh, so this is basically CCC entirely?". No, this is its own thing here, using the same elements from CCC basically.
There's a different CCC manga that's the prime adaption
Maybe it'll suck, it's being done by the same guy that did the Extra manga.
Gawain is by far the best, it's not even close.
Caster's rival that was cut from CCC, because Take didn't finish the design in time or something, I don't know. Elizabeth is Saber's rival, while the fox-eared Saber is Caster's rival, etc.
Takeuchi just wanted an excuse to make another blond haired Saber.
I actually abandoned it after 4 chapters, it's too fanservicey (says a guy that is a Meltlilith fag) and not as well drawn as Prism Ilya (which is childish, but more consistent and action-packed). But yeah, the art is better than the normal Extra manga. I wish that the Fox Tail guy would have been chosen to draw more Meltlilith in the normal Extra CCC manga, after all she is by far the most memorable Sakura in terms of personality and quotable-chuunibyou dialogue. DX
>So is Mordred Arthur's bastard or his cousin or nephew?
Arthur had a dick for awhile, shit still happened just like in the legend for that part, even if Arthur is a girl she's still a father.
