I sincerely hope they don't because the rest of koyomi is pretty entertaining: you get to see things like bake senjougahara again. It's the adaptation that's hard - most of the short stories aren't interesting enough to take up a whole episode.

Yep. I remember an old thread about the number of pages per episode in each adaptation. Karen Bee was really slow, at like 46 pages/ep, and kabuki was lightning fast at like 85 pages/ep.

In contrast, bake had a constant rate of about 55 pages/ep and I think that was the right pace. The 3 owari books are about 350 pages each, so 350*3/55=19 episodes. Zoku is 288 pages, so if they take their time it's perfect for a 2cour.

Maybe they are making minor changes to keep up with the current style of Monogatari. From rewatching, the earlier arcs are lower budget and have more dramatic cuts and sound effects. I actually prefer the more subdued style in second season and hana/tsuki.

With Dramaturgie there are easy ways to spice up the pre-baseball part of the fight. How long do you expect the baseball part to take? I'd say max 2 or 3 minutes.
I agree, Guillotinecutter and Final Boss aren't really fights - they're Nisio-style dialogue fights.

Nisio can't write fights for shit, but he doesn't have to - I think they can be easily made interesting.

Yeah, I guess I agree. They shouldn't follow his narration exactly. A lot of the fights in Katanagatari were less interesting than they could have been because they were un-choreographed, and had people's arms disappear into slashing frenzies.

So will the next Monogatari series be called Owarimonogatari or Monogatari S3? If they called it Owarimonogatari they'd have to release Zokuowarimonogatari as a separate entity, but if they called it S3 it would feel unfitting considering 90% of s3 is Owarimonogatari.
