This is an anime for neanderthals.
>>
Not really. It's my favorite anime but it isn't really deep. It's just a really well told story
>>

>a girl in a sailor suit
>for intellectuals

uh huh
>>
>>122448305
Pretty much this. Depth does not equal quality.
>>
>>122448305
This OP, if you thought this anime involved any type of "deep thinking" you might literally be retarded.
>>
What would you say is the best episode without counting 10 and 11?
>>
>>122452375
episode 1.
It was great just jumping into that not having any clue what to expect.

Wish I could get a concussion so huge I'd forget this entire show and be able to watch it again like that.
>>
generic pretentious hipster pandering shit.
>>
it's incredibly well executed but not deep by any means. just a well written show with a creative art style
>>
I watch tatami galaxy and listen to onkyo
>>
>>122448184
stop shitposting, jimmy.
>>
intellectual? no. fast reading skills? kinda.
>>
>>122454595
yeah i'd agree. i do think it sparks more intellectual thought after you finish it than your average show though. it really kind of changed the way i live and make decisions, or at least the way i view life and decision-making.
>>
>>122454039
It's not though, it's incredibly straightforward. MC even states the core theme of the show.

funny. that's not how you spell nisemonogatari.

it was pretty fun actually, but I needed to pause like every 5 minutes to read the subtitles.

The bike episode.

There's something wrong with that statement, m8

> Nisemonogatari

That's literally the dumbest season of any of the monogatari series.

Tatami Galaxy is a fantastic anime but dicks like you make the people who like it seem like smug faggots.

In actual fact, the message of the anime is about as simple as it gets. Tatami Galaxy's goodness comes from how enjoyably that message is conveyed through the show's humor and great cast of characters.

No Anime is for intelectuals. If Big Bang theory was an Anime, then maybe.

This. I wish people would stop fucking with my fanbase.

It's not bad, it's the dumbest.

Was there a message?

Yes. Sadly i wasn't intelligent enough to follow the speed of the subs.
>>
>>122464496
Yes, hell it was even explicitly stated in episode 9. The MC spent all of his time obsessing over how his life could have turned out and what he believed he deserved that he was unable to enjoy what truly matters: the here and now. In the last to episodes, after choosing a safe life with none of the other characters in it he began to see for the first time how rich his 'other lives' had been.

Essentially the 'message' was: don't dwell on the past, make the most of your life now. At least, that's my take on it.
>>
>>122448184
It's not, since I watched it and even enjoyed it much.

Have you faggots ever read literary fiction? High-brow entertainment is neither deep nor complex.

Either way, the embodiment of /a/-approved "deep" works is fucking Homestuck. That's all it is. It's so smart and great because there are hidden meanings and a lot of shit going on, those dumb normals could never keep up!

"Deep" doesn't mean anything.
>>
>>122464496
What I took from it was that, in our lives, we're only able to have one perspective, so our perception is limited to the experiences we have and the biases we form as a result. A lot of that is emphasized through the characters. They're not dynamic characters (meaning they don't change through the series), but they still receive development because the protagonist starts seeing different sides of them. Then it flat-out explains this by literally taking a two-dimensional character and making them three-dimensional.

>>122448184
I'd say it's something intellectuals can enjoy, since it actually has themes that it spends time building up in order to deliver. It's an extremely existentialist text, and it leaves viewers with plenty to discuss. Of course, it's not necessarily "for" intellectuals. It can be for everyone. It's smart, but it's straightforward. You don't have to be a fucking Mensa member to enjoy it.

Just assume anyone that dislikes TG is a poor troll or a tasteless idiot. Either way you don't reply. Works wonders and is usually true.
We've had so many threads like this yet you faggots keep trying to validate your taste when its theirs that is shit. Stop.

anime isn't for intellectuals; it's literally aimed at kids and teenagers even shit like this.

just because it had a coherent and well-written theme doesn't mean it's deep

if you want deep go watch inferno cop.

I don't think you have enough buzzwords in your post.
>>
>>122470004
Of course I recognized it, hence the picture. By "dicks like you" I was referring precisely to trolls that people do take seriously. People actually believe that Tatami Galaxy is pretentious shit as a result despite that being far from the truth.
>>
>>122448184
No.
