Has Type-Moon lost its charm over the years?
I think Fate/Extra CCC is the most charming thing they've done yet.
She's the King of Waifus.
what happens if unlimited seibah works comes into battle with the nekoarc dimension?
Strange part is that it really is, but if you were looking at it without understanding shit it would feel like some strange fan-service or absurdity.
Nasu calls it another Ataraxia in a sense, he had an odd combination of the plot really having some solid parts here, and some parts just being him fucking around or seeing what he can get by with doing.
>implying sweater puppies are not eternal
I really want to play a Fate game, but I heard that Sakura loves someone in there that isn't Shirou. . . I just can't. Sakura and Shirou are my OTP. I can't imagine otherwise.
>but I heard that Sakura loves someone in there that isn't Shirou. . . I just can't.
Right, I've also heard that Arthur appears in that game, and loves someone other than Shirou as well. Except she's pretending to be a Roman general for some reason, but clearly it's Arthur, and that destroys my OTP.
Blossom =/= Sakura
BB =/= Sakura
Blossom even says at the beginning of the contest that her name is randomly chosen among the contestants, and just by chance it happened to pick "Shinji" as the one to base her name on. Coincidences like this are meant to bullshit F/SN fans who come into Extra thinking "It must be this...", when in reality they're entirely different people.
Shinji isn't even Shinji either.
Blossom is an AI on a Moon computer older than time that develops a soul one day, and her entire story is about learning what it means to be human and shit. She's not Matou anything.
It's like the more you know about Fate the more Extra tries to fuck with you at first with misdirection.
Shinji in Extra is a Chinese Hacker gamer, and he's actually likable.
>Shinji :: Man you really are an otaku! Don’t worry, with that much sass you can make it anywhere! No one expects anything from you, so it’s fine no matter how much you fail! I’m way jealous!
>Jinako :: Gh…I’ve been terribly insulted. Geniuses are just so cruel. It’s fine no matter how much you fail? Words like that do nothing to lighten the bitterness and envy of common folk who can’t ever succeed.
>Shinji :: Yeah, yeah, whatever hater. God…I can’t believe someone like this was my greatest rival in the gaming world. The web really is a rotten way of communicating. It makes boring people become entertaining and fun people become boring. The worst part is that you can’t even tell which type your are yourself anymore.
Jinako :: Shinji…?
>Shinji :: I know. At least that people hate me on PJ. But if you don’t make a persona like you’ll just be boring and people will ignore you. No matter how good your records are. My parents were ruined nobility, see. They bought superior genetic material from the Western European plutocrats and designed me. After that I was given a room and just had self-study everyday. What mom and dad wanted wasn’t a son, it was a superior successor. It’s fine though. I can appreciate the irony. I mean, that’s all I have to be proud of. Superiority. Setting records. To teach a lesson to those morons whose faces I don’t even know. I wanted to set records, see. Records no one would ever beat. As proof that I was there. Now things have come to this I finally realized, but that was my wish. So — I wanted to participate in the Holy Grail War, and if I could win it, then I wouldn’t have needed anything more. Even without the “Grail” prize, all I wanted was to leave a record saying “I was here.” Even if it’s the web, where everything is vague, people don’t connect, and things disappear quickly, the name of the winner of the Holy Grail War would persist as long as the internet itself.
I'm worrying about Type-Moon...
I know that many newfags didn't even read VNs / Light Novel F/Z and just watched shitty animu by Deen, Ufotable and JC Staff.
And now even more retards will play in shitty April Fools' game, Fate/Extra and even worse CCC, watch Fate/Zero and Carnival Phantasm without even reading VNs/LNs and pretend to be TM-fags after that, make tons of shitty threads about characters and power levels.
They will not be even familiar with the original art-style and will think that this shitty K-on CP is "okay", Morii-san's art is not pure shit, RCO Wada is nice and F/Z is soo kewl stylish and grim dark, also Fate/Extra is acceptable by any means with all this "wH0 iZ mai WAiFUUUU" & UmUshit whore of babbylon crap.
Type-Moon is not supposed to be this popular, get the fuck out you narutards.
And now you can CLEARLY see all these "typemoonfags" of 2010-2013. Fucking horrible. You're not TYPE-MOON fans, but NEO-NARUTO-MOON fans.
I ordered Mahoyo and finished that shit VN in this year (2011 late release) while you are still sucking dicks for at least 5 years or so without the translation, fucking plebeians and casuals. But even Mahoyo was a PIECE of SHIT and BOMBED really hard.
And what is more hilarious - Type-SHIT is pretending like it never happened and preferred to completely FORGOT about their new VN by making another absolutely IDIOTIC fate/shit such as EXTRA/SHIT and APOCRYSHIT.
And now Type-Moon decided to resurrect this shit Fate/Apocrypha like it wasn't enough to make Fate/Milking Sabers shit, their outbursting impotence and rectal dysfunction is taking them way far away from something actually new and original, you may suggest that Mahoyo is new but you'll be terribly wrong because the sequence of Mahoyo was made in 1996(!) year and the only "new" thing will be Girl's work but I'm not sure even about this, there's no guarantee that they didn't pull this shit out of someone's old ass again.
He shows more personality in CCC, but he's still kind of the "Normal one" at times.
Despite his existence being one of the strangest ones out of the protagonists. He's kind of like Naegi in Danganronpa; his main value is hard work and not giving up, the normal one among absurdities, but manages to score some hits by moving forward.
You're the one who went with the first response you got like it's fact. If you ask how any Fate series is, the first response you get will probably be "It's shit", because it's something fast to type and doesn't require much thought.
Play through and make up your mind.
No, and I hate that.
I can't get over this franchise, it absorbs you and WON'T LET YOU GO.
Now I'm enjoying every second of all the content they give us.
And everything began with a Recommended Video on youtube back in 2008... I love you TM.
>still no translation
Time to learn Japanese since apparently no one wants to translate a recent true Nasu VN for some reason.
Type-Moon was lost when they became enamored with MOAR FATE, ALL THE FATE. Carnival Phantasm was a kick in the crotch to anyone that likes Tsukihime. The fixation with Zero was the most painful nail. Apocrypha was when I really knew we were done. At least Extra had the excuse of being a video game, so you could ignore all the horseshit hand waving.
There's a lot of shit that isn't getting translated at this point.
I've heard Mahoyo was fully translated, but the proofreader decided to sit on the project or something.
Translators are pretty much the one thing we don't have in this franchise lately.
How can you tell the difference between him and Takeuchi?
Who drew this? Who do you think is better?
It's interesting to ask how much Type Moon's popularity has derived from Nasu's writing as opposed to Takeuchi's character design.
Similarly, Takeuchi is a pretty crap artist, as we see as soon as he tries to draw an animal or... anatomy, but none of that matters really if his designs have a certain intoxicating charm. People have pointed out that his designs all resemble each-other, but I think that's the point, the Takeuchi style levels everything, offers a cohesive language for describing characters in set, rigid parameters, and Nasu's writing does similar thing with the Nasuverse; offering statistical or categorical evaluations of their power for instance. The precision this system allows a distinct authenticity that I think you might lose in a flashier, more stylized (and incidentally derivative) Nitro+ work, even if that company is able to create more compelling visuals with fewer corny moments. It's also worth noting that Nasu loves corny moments, and his ready exploitation of them I think helps keep him from drowning in his perhaps less intended ones.
For every single typemoon fan, the best iteration is the one that introduced them to typemoon, the older ones aren't very interesting and the new material is invariably disappointing.
Now please explain me why the fuck people is still interested in this shit.
because the only legitimate reason I came up to in these years is "to talk about something on internet"
Personally, I think it has more to do with the fact that Takeuchi's character designs are so unique, and not necessarily in a good sense. His designs are all instantly recognizable, and while they do level the playing field, I think it has more to with the fact that even the newest of newfags can instantly recognize a Takeuchi design more so than his leveling of designs.
His designs are very similar and simplistic though, that is for sure.
Same here. I watched F/Z and ended up liking F/SN much more.
>tfw UBW for the first time
But that's bullshit
I like Tsukihime and Meltan when it had a story mode as much as KnK, as much as FSN, as much as F/Z, and I look forward to seeing newer stuff being translated and developed
Not everyone is a sociopathic elitist who can't enjoy a 7/10 story once he's exposed to an 8/10 or higher
But Nasu is the only one trying to do not Fate things. He put out Mahoyo and is still working on Tsukhiime.
What do you have when you don't factor him in? Prisma, Apocrypha, Strange Fake, Case Files. It's all Fate stuff. I'm not criticizing those stories, but don't act like he's holding back the company.
People really have to just accept that the majority of people attracted to his universe are drawn by Fate and then branch out to other parts.
Which is why everyone wants their hand in the Fate pot, because my goodness, they enjoyed the story and want their mark on it.
People always bitching
80% of the TM stuff that's came out recently had nothing to do with nasu, and he didn't write any of it. You got exactly what you wanted long ago, and are still saying "It sucks now and I hate it".
Fate/Strange, Fate/Prototype, Fate/Apoc, Prism Ilya, etc etc
Those aren't things he wrote at all, those are things people approached him on saying "Can I write this" and he goes "Whatever".
>"But I hate Fate stuff, I meant I want TM without the Fate stuff which is shit"
This is what TM is without Nasu, people want to keep writing Fate, even if he's not the one doing it. It's not Nasu that's doing it anymore, he simply created the beast. The beast has a mind of its own now.
Last thing he did was CCC, thing before that was Mahoyo, and at the moment he's working on Grand/Order and Tsuki in tandem. Read his diary to see how progress is that in going.
In before "Implying he's working on Tsuki"
That's why I told you to read his BBS diary, info on how he's working on it and to what ratio is in there.
TM fans are always the biggest bitches no matter what.
So? Other people want to work on his franchises, so he lets them. They make money, he makes money, and fans get what they want. He still does his own stuff though. It's not like he's forcing Fate and Fate only.
There, that's part from a recent diary exert about Tsukihime. Yet you'll still bitch "Shut up, it's a lie, that hack has already long abandoned us true fans. You're just in denial, liar".
So are we never fucking gonna get a translated Mahoutsukai no Yoru, like really what the fuck. why is it taking so long to get this 5 hour long game translated. I mean its type moon too so what the fuck should this be more popular? What the fuck is happening to the tl scene? is everyone dying? are we going into the dark ages again like the 90s?
Shiki barely had any characterization until the sequel. I wish he was a delinquent who didn't give a fuck with a murderous side from the get go instead of just being some guy.
The high water mark was Kagetsu Tohya. It all went downhill starting with the lack of Ilya route in Fate. Now they can't even make anything original and half of what they do make is outsourced.
I lost all of my hope for a Tsukihime remake ages ago. Type Moon is too busy milking the Fate cashcow, and everything seems to be servants and servants into servants fighting servants.
I just wanted a Sacchin route, and a remake of the sunflower field scene. And I'll never get them. Ever.
Translation is dying, the one thing we lack is new translators and people who put effort into that side of the project.
Despite all the daily "learn Japanese" threads.
Maybe if it was a new anime it would be typeset, but otherwise probably not.
would berry it so deep i'd be crowned king arturia
All the Fate bullshit over the last 10 years has really killed my hype for TM. They don't even try to branch out the universe anymore and instead rehash the Holy Grail War over and over.
Kagetsu Tohya was just not fun to play. Like, I enjoy the content you read in it, but its choice system was just too convoluted to make heads or tails of anything. You either went in blind and hope for the best, likely ending up missing content or getting lost, or rigorously following a guide, thus defeating the entire point of being so open ended.
Why is hair color such a big deal for me? Is it justified?
>would berry it so deep i'd be crowned king arturia
That's not how the joke goes mister.
Of course there's always the one guy who didn't have any trouble. It was a flawed system.
That chart just makes it way harder than it needs to be. KT and HA both had the same general rpg dungeon theory. You figure out the stairs going down are in the left passage so you go into the right passage and do everything there first.
Nasu hates the entirety of Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai. Don't you get that? They are his embarrassments. His little half-made children he reluctantly let go into the world, whose legs were uneven, their hair a mess, and clothes wrinkled. They were him before he was killer.
Do you get it son? Are you pickin' up what I'm layin' down?
I'd pump her so full of mana that she'd become a Holy Grail
You can miss it yes, and I could see someone needing help on a cg or two. But it's still the same basic theory. Also you're overlooking the key factor of why it was the high water mark: You can H the cat but not Ilya. Type Moon has become a bunch of pansies and all you get now is Gilgamesh's naked body.
As far as random spin-offs go, Prisma Illya is good. As far as Type-Moon material, it's a hell of a lot better than 90% of Carnival Phantasm. And it's not a huge wankfest like fate/zero is.
It has the added benefit of Ruby and Sapphire being Naoko Takano and Miyu Matsuki, which makes it psycho genki as fuck, measured with cooling loveliness.
My main displeasure is that the anime isn't as good as the manga, but that's largely due to nothing topping how I viewed what was happening in the manga in comparison to the anime. Voices make up for it.
I loved Tsukihime(VN) and FSN. KnK and Fate/Zero were pretty good. But now it is just spinoff after spinoff and remake after remake. I went from a huge fan to no longer having any interest in TM.
>You can H the cat but not Ilya
Oh who fucking cares. Does anyone actually get off to TM H scenes? Doujins maybe, but I'm not fapping to Takeuchi's art, and I'm sure as hell not getting hard to half-assed translated sex dialog.
On a sheer technical level trying to work through KT wasn't enjoyable, despite having enjoyable scenes in it.
>all you get now is Gilgamesh's naked body
I understand plenty, but like, really? You like the sex scenes? The only reason I prefer them over the censored ones in Fate is because the scenes that replace them are stupid.
Grand Order is coming at some point. UBW BDs are in two weeks with about 5 episodes of new content.
First three episodes of UBW's second cour are being screened this weekend. One episode is possibly an hour long.
>mfw I locked myself out of the Len sex scene
In official art, Ryougi Shiki's kimono slims her down considerably,
and the way the shoulders of the wear slope from a slightly raised height near the neck to the actual shoulder makes her forward profile very 'dainty'.
Of course, the one scene we see her without that one she has boyish shoulders, befitting her personality and upbringing.
I imagine there will always be Fate stuff on the go; just see Apocrypha for evidence of that.
However, for the most part, it will be outsourced to different writers/studios where Type/Moon provide an advisory role.
Nasu and Takeuchi have both stated that they want to focus on the Tsukihime remake and the Mahou Tsukai no Yoru sequels next (which will take around 10 years apparently).
Is having Rider try on shirts the quickest way to tell if it's Rin or Sakura's
>They wanted to do a new Melty Blood (tentatively Melty Blood HD) but they need to find a way to continue the story first. At the time, TYPE-MOON's Kinoko Nasu (author) was busy with Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, so the project is postponed.
I hope they're going to do it in the future.
> Takeuchi: Maybe it's because I'm always working on galgame, but I'm somewhat opposed to changing a female lead's outfit. I feel a character's clothe is also part of his or her design, which is why Arcueid from 「Tsukihime」 has been wearing the same outfit for the past 10 years (laughs).
> Ishii: This makes sense if you really think about it, (laughs) but I also can't really picture Arcueid wearing anything else.
Kind of. Some characters and concepts from Kara no Kyoukai were carried off into Tsukihime, MEoDP and the name Shiki were some of these, but the two characters are very different in personalities.
There are 3, uniquely distinct Shikis. T. Shiki, R. Shiki, and SHIKI.
Going further there's also N. Shiki based off of T. Shiki who exists as a different entity in Melty Blood.
Counting alternate personalities there are 3 versions of R. Shiki.
So that's six, and I'm probably missing a few.
These are Aoko and Alice Takeuchi version.
>not selling well
I don't believe it.
>And, from next month’s Comptiq May issue release, “Fate/Labyrinth” a complete new work will be a concentrated serialisation. Whether it’ll be some kind of book in general, it’ll make me happy if you just look at it and check it out
>“Fate/Labyrinth” is (planned) for a concentrated serialisation over 3 months because it is a special volume with various meanings. How it is special, its………
I wonder what this will be about.
EVERYTHING I DO
I DO IT FOR YOU
Hey do any of you guys have that new Pokemon game? I tried to acquire a copy of Pokemon
Bluebut they were all out so I was stuck with Pokemon Red.
I wonder who brought the last copy of
Why did Rin need to have a sex scene in every route.
You give the best girl the most exposure, generally.
Rin is a goodhearted pure young lady.
If this is the future of TM VNs then I'm hyped. It's high quality, no wonder Tsukihime is taking so long.
Soujuurou vs Lugh is seriously the straightest fucking life correction Type Moon has ever dealt out.
Soujuurou just doesn't give a fuck and makes Lugh his bitch.
Because he's such a blank slate to project on to with his only real notable qualities aside from being a natural fucking badass is that he's innocent as fuck?
That's really subjective. I personally liked him but I love fist fighters with a passion so my bias is very swayed towards liking him since he's just elbows and punches and doesn't need to be Shirou or Shiki to be wrecking shit.
Without a doubt Shirou and Archer's battle in UBW. Nothing really compares to that moment.
He's directly called the strongest Type Moon protagonist to date, at the start of the story.
It says he gets weaker as he becomes more civilized, but it doesn't really say he slips below anyone.
They're not being very subtle about Archer's identity.
I wonder where he would fall once he finally acclimates to the city after being the mountains for so long.
Would he fall to just a bit above Shiki/Shirou or actually stay fairly far ahead?
>no obligatory shouting couple
if anyone cares, the hana no miyako sequal is out
chapter one is on the artists pixiv.
came out 2 days ago
No special ability, he's just the strongest.
His main feat is one-punching the shit out of a werewolf that should have been far far above humans and most things. His punch was so perfect that the werewolf just collapsed in on itself
It's like if Shiki or Shirou were to fight him, it would probably be a lot like trying to fight Kuzuki, and getting punched out without question.
If you had to guess his ability, then you could probably say that living in nature so long made him something closer to Gaia, something closer to the humans of old, before they became weaker as a group.
Realistically speaking. How long is Mahoyo?
Everyone keeps saying how it's short so I guess it would be like one of Fate's route length.
Why is she wearing socks in the bath?
Agreed on Rin.
Illya a second best for me, though I do like Seiba.
That looks like something from Ufotable.
B-but Tsukihime's popular enough and major enough that the translations will go smoothly, right? Right?
Part of me thinks that the overlap Tsukihime has with the FGC because of Melty Blood might help translations, but what the hell do I know, I'm a scrub.
>tfw Ufo animates HA scene where Rider tries on different clothing in the store with Shirou
What if this guy was active during Fate and UBW?
It really does.
Gilgamesh was a dude who lived way before the age of the gods. Medea and Herakles lived during that time which was way later than when Gilgamesh lived in Uruk.
I don't think there would ever be something for him to stab with the spear in order to cancel. Once you're inside the Reality Marble it's no longer a Bounded Field from your perspective, it's the World.
Unclear. Stabbing the ground may cause the boundary field to collapse, or it may accomplish nothing. Or because the boundary field is the user, Gae Dearg might cancel the spell if it touches the one who casted it.
Kirei only managed to hold him still for a tiny bit, people really overplay that.
If Hassan had decided to launch a dirk at his head instead of use Delusional Heartbeat, Kotomine would have died instantly.
Shiki and Aoko both made it through their primary stories with virginity intact, though we know for sure that Shiki eventually marries and has a kid with Kokutou. Saber's dick-cherry might've been popped when Merlin made her a futa back in Camelot, but both she and Arc are virgins at the start of their stories, and in routes that aren't theirs end as virgins as well. With the possible exception of Saber in HF if you count tentacles.
>implications that kay didn't fuck seibah's anus during their squire days like was common back then
>they stayed in the same room together for several nights and they would never let anyone else in
"cancels magic" is vague, the natural world is Gaia's reality marble and the inside of one is a purely physical location. It depends on what the spear does, if it just fixes things according to Gaia's reality it might work inside another RM, if it does something else probably not.
A Reality Marble isn't really Magecraft, either. The actual act of manifesting one might or might not be (probably not), but a Reality Marble itself is something different entirely.
>Soujuurou went for the Alice
He may be the strongest protagonist to date, but he also has the worse taste. How the hell he can he just pass those puppies up.
It is magecraft. It is a forbidden pinnacle of magecraft, but magecraft nonetheless. It's comparing a flashlight to the sun, but an innate bounded field is still a bounded field.
It's something far too fundamental to the universe to be considered Magecraft. It's like calling the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception a psychic power. TECHNICALLY you aren't wrong, but there's something far more fundamental underlying the whole process.
We don't even know how much prana a typical RM needs. Shirou exhausted Rin's supply just using his UBW. Kerry did his time accel and I'm pretty sure he has way less prana than Rin.
The Prana cost comes from sustaining it against Gaia trying to crush it. Take someone with a Reality Marble and put them on a dead, lifeless planet, far removed from Gaia's influence, and they would be able to sustain a Reality Marble without spending any Prana.
Time Alter is an ordinary bounded field that coincidentally happens to disturb reality's laws, not a reality marble. However even if it were, Kiritsugu doesn't extend it past his skin, which is what causes the tremendous tax on magical energy. (Nrvnqsr uses the same means to have a constant RM going)
>worst hair colors
She's pretty much perfect.
I'd say Mahoyo Aoko still has a bit of personal growth before she hits perfection.
Well we are getting two more games, right?
Except the entire reason Zouken adopted her is so that later on she could produce an heir to participate in the next war.
Then he found the bits of the Fourth War's Grail and decided to do an experiment, and then the Fifth War happened too soon, so in 2/3 routes he figured he'd just wait it out and try for the Sixth War with Sakura's kid.
No, of course not. She wouldn't be a virginy anymore if that was the case.
Yeah, Zouken adopted her for a reason at first.
Then he threw her in the wormpit for three days, expecting she would die in the process and not caring if she did. Dude either lied about the sixth war, or just can't keep track of what he wants, what with his degradation.
>Nasu: That's correct. We don't want players to feel the setting is unpolished no matter how far back it's set. The goal is to have the player should feel "I want to live in this city," to paint a memorable and beautiful street scene. Actually the setting is Tsukihime's Misaki Town, Tsukihime fans should be able to recognize locations such as the grilled beef restaurant Dai Teito. The Kuonji household has the same location as Tohno household from Tsukihime.
Either Mahoyo as depicted in the VN and Tsukihime as depicted in the VN are in two mutually exclusive world lines, or a LOT happens in the relatively few years (probably less than five) between Mahoyo and the flashbacks/prologue of Tsukihime.
>"There were terrible cries for the first three days, but by the fourth day, she was silent. Today, she was thrown at dawn in the worm storage to test how well she would last, but, ho ho, she endured it for half a day and is still breathing. What do you know, the Tōsaka material isn't defective."
Zouken was surprised that she was still breathing. He expected that she would die, and he didn't throw her in there to break her mentally.
I read Fate/Zero, and was struck by the incongruities between Waver and Rider.
Aren't Masters and Servants supposed to be cut from the same cloth? What's up with this shit? There are no similarities whatsoever between them.
Summoned in absence of catalyst will result in similar personalities. With a catalyst means less likely but not impossible. E.g. A piece of the round table could land you anyone from Camelot in theory.
Yep. Avalon will guarantee you Seiba (or maybe Francis Drake/Queen Elizabeth, since she got in as well), but technically you can also summon her with other catalysts, as long as they match.
The part where they find their ruined base after Alexander demolishes it and tirade on about how that mindless brute with no regard for art has destroyed their grand masterpieces is easily the third best part of the LN.
Fate became okay after reading Fate/Zero, and Heaven's Feel was the greatest by far, but UBW was just generic irrelevant shounen drivel. It didn't help that Rin barely even did anything in her own route except act like a generic tsundere.
>implying that UBW is not generic shounen drivel
He's right that it is generic shounen drivel. Aside from the sex, there is nothing that separates it from battle shounen. Even the Japanese were complaining about it when the season was airing.
>inb4 japanese secondaries
Nasu plots are too convenient. Well, so are most plots. Most of his characters (such as Gil) are one-sided and aren't really believable. Shirou is an exception. On Kara no Kyoukai, he fleshes out more characters. On Fate/Zero, Kirei and Kiritsugu are also very well developed, as are most of its characters actually. I've been thinking that F/SN should be rewritten by Urobochi Gen since I've finished the novel.
>I've been thinking that F/SN should be rewritten by Urobochi Gen since I've finished the novel.
What the Grail War should've been. We're told repeatedly that it's really fucking dangerous and you should go in expecting to die horribly but not much of that happens in F/SN and you get a War full of women and children. At least F/Z had characters with motives instead of "So there's a Holy Grail War and I summoned a Servant, it can't be helped so I'll fight" or "I'll fight because my father/Servant/ancestor told me to."
Also it had Kiritsugu's mentor fighting vampire Pain with vampire bee familiars. Needless to say no one survived that incident. Don't attack people with vampire bees when they're boarding a plane.
I was expecting a lot more from Kohaku's route after Hisui's True End. In the end you never really get to see Kohaku as her own person really, as Ciel-sensei says she's more of a route that ties everything together.
I have a lot of issues with UBW, its also the one that is very close to the shounen archtype stories.
UBW is the "saving everyone" (if you discount Ilya) as Shiro becames the typical shounen hero ... well almost because UBW is Archer Route that is why I dislike it since Rin is STILL a supporting character, Shiro is made useless so Archer can win (yes, he "wins" against Archer ... big fucking deal considering how it ends) and nothing on the story arc itself was very interresting ... Caster just could not stand to be the "main" enemy of the Arc as Ilya did in Fate as Gilmesh is simply not fit as the "final boss", yes ... he was in Fate but not as a replacement of Kotomine.
It particularly follows Naruto.
MC has a shitty life at the start
MC has a goal
MC works hard toward goal to the point of harming themselves
MC gets into a shitty sequence of events that lets them know they have secret/hidden abilities that almost no one has
MC finds out that they have secret shit stashed in their bodies by their parents
Their parents are super-legends
MC later finds out that they are super talented because of this secret and didn't really need to work that hard, they just had to realize their abilities
MC has multiple love interests
MC faces life changing events that shape their entire egos during their youth and they fight on with their ideals but keep realistic about it
They even get love interest heroine #2 at the ending of the route (true route).
The route plays out as a battle shounen. It really does. Some Japanese even complained about how "harem-ish" it was and how jarringly different the story is compared to F/Z.
Which I agree with years before.
UBW relies way too much on the fact that the viewer knows the storyline of the Fate route. Shirou's progression of power is ridiculous. First he was swinging pipes around, then all of a sudden TRACING SWORDS LEFT AND RIGHT.
I can see why they did it this way, it just feels really awkward to watch. On the other hand, I also don't think making it a full length series would be a good idea as well.
>We're told repeatedly that it's really fucking dangerous and you should go in expecting to die horribly but not much of that happens in F/SN
This is the game where Shirou dies or otherwise cannot continue his life due to horrendous malady in 41 out of 45 possible ends, right?
>Shiro is made useless so Archer can win (yes, he "wins" against Archer ... big fucking deal considering how it ends)
The fuck are you talking about? Shirou beat Archer and he beat Gilgamesh. Archer just got in a final blow as basically an apology for al the evil she had been doing.
And Gil works as a perfect final boss for Shirou. Shirou is a faker, Gil is the original. Shirou makes copies of weapons, Gil has the prototypes. Shirou is an imitation hero, Gil is the King of Heroes.
It completely ties into the main theme of the route: imitation vs original, and how an imitation can surpass an original.
You're pulling shit out of your ass with "heroine number 2". Hinata is the caring dere wallflower, not the tsundere that is Rin. Did Naruto get with Sakura?
So I guess, since you pointed that the entirety of FSN shares all those points except for the last two, then HF is just as much Naruto.
>Avenger was just some poor negro
I see. Fate/stay night is about racism.
Just talking in terms of "heroine number 2" is hilarious. You pulled that out to draw a comparison to Naruto, but as characters, Sakura and Hinata are much more similar.
So basically you're using your arbitrary rules to hammer in your point, without actually thinking about the characters.
Avenger wasn't even evil. He was just a smarmy asshole. The Avenger wraiths that became wolves after the end of a cycle were just manifestations.
Avenger was just some poor negro that got sacrificed as "all evils of the world" by a village, in order to fulfill a ritual. He doesn't even care about it all by the time he's mistakenly summoned.
Arbitrary as that may be, that is simply one point. Naruto never almost gave everything up for the sake of pussy, just like in UBW, opposite of what happened in HF.
UBW is more Naruto than HF if we think of the MC, rather than the heroine. (Still, Rin and Hinata are still both heroine #2).
So because you can find one single extra similarity to Naruto out of a bunch you pulled out, that pushes UBW over the edge?
Like what is your fucking point here? The joke has always been that FSN is the Naruto of VNs, but like, what are you getting at?
Saber vanished when she destroyed the grail during the 6th and Final Holy Grail War. Returning to the point when she was about to die, the King of Knights was determined to wait for Shirou, even if it took forever. What if, by some twist of fate she and Shirou were
reborn into the Shinobi world, as Sakura and Naruto? What if she is the only one who remembers?
Let's settle it here.
If we're talking about the MC's story, then UBW is far more Naruto than HF will ever be.
But if we're being a shit and deciding that stories are based on heroines and not the MCs, then HF is more Naruto than UBW will ever be. Except if we concentrate and focus on heroines, none of the heroines' stories ever match up with those in Naruto.
That is the flaw with your shitpicking. It doesn't follow formula.
until the shitposter gone
You're the one who pointed the heroine thing as being one of the two similarities that really hammer in that UBW is Naruto; you are admitting though that you are backing out of that right now, so you have one thing that makes UBW more Naruto. Shirou doesn't puss out on his goal. Okay. Neither does Fate Shirou. You're not bringing that up in the conversation for some reason. So your point is that HF between the three is slightly less Naruto I guess?
Fuck this is a dumb conversation. Funny though.
It's not an implication, it's a fact.
