Let's go at it logically.
When people want to destroy the world for selfish reasons, it's just them being evil. Chibi-Usa tried that - and she's a lesbian too - but you don't count her for this because she did it because she was just being a brat.
Good people only try to destroy the world for somebody else.

But what kind of guy needs protection? Guys are independent. You'd insult them by doing it. That leaves only girls you can do it for, leaving only straight boys and lesbians to do the actual doing.
