I wouldn't say it's a 'wound that won't heal'. It seems to be very well healed, they both seem to be pretty over it and accepted it. Has anime/manga made anyone else a lot more emotional? I cried more at this scene than I did about family members dying. I'm convinced this medium has made me a pussy bitch, because I get really emotional even over things that aren't that sad.

Konata and her Dad seem pretty over it, even making jokes and the mom's ghost seems to be OK with the whole situation as well. Sure it was a bit feelsy but noone was really mourning or grieving so I, as the viewer didn't do that either.
