There is zero reason to choose an objectively inferior, decade old eroge VN over a far superior, better artstyle, animated, version of it.

Additionally the other fate releases spoil Fate/Zero -- the best standalone release of the entire fate series. It is idioitic to complain about how it ruins a subpar route like HF, when reading HF/FSN spoils Fate/Zero.

Fate/Zero is one of the greatest selling anime of all time for good reason. And /a/ will never stop being butthurt over it.

People really overestimate how bad "spoilers" are. It's not like "It's his sled" level spoiler, it's just "ugh, ok that's what they decided to do"

You're supposed to enjoy the journey, not the destination, in Fate. And the (ufotable) anime is a luxurious limo ride on the main road. The VN is a model T that can travel on the side roads as well.

Take the nice trip and then circle back onto the dirt path if you really want to.

You just read like 20-30 minutes a night if you don't have that much time. If you have time to watch anime you have time to read a VN. You can save at any point except during the prologue so you can just read it a little bit at a time if you want. For the prologue though you will have to budget a couple hours depending on how slow a reader you are, cause if you stop in the middle you'll have to start it over again, and it's pretty long.

Also, you already pretty much ruined most of the major twists of the VN by watching F/Z first so you're probably going to enjoy it a lot less.

Selfishness, selflessness, finding the balance between oneself, saying that neither answer is really wrong, but each answer will speak to you differently. Showing each side without saying there's a clear answer, getting the user to think, to converse about the meaning and what they drew from each answer, that line between realism and the opposite of such a thing.

Fate is about there not just being one answer, really some of the best books out there are about there not just being one answer. Rather they just leave you with a few different takes, and allow you to draw your own conclusions. Each path had meaning; chances are people might choose one as correct and say the others are bullshit, but each path had part of the answer and was necessary.

It wasn't Shirou's story or Saber's story, it was a story about ideals and reality. It definitely wasn't "This is the correct path, everyone choose this one".

No, not even all wars are in alternate universes, or are alternate universe pieces of the same ritual. There are seven hundred Holy Grail citing to date, some of them are wars, and the others are through different means. Holy Grail is the designation of anything that can grant a wish. You'd be kind of stupid if you thought "But is it possible that this even happened, but slightly different" in a system of infinite world-lines where all shit can basically happen. The more you read into Fate, the more you find out that the one in F/SN wasn't super special or anything. Even in interview it's called something of a small time or unknown ritual, even if it could have had big results.

F/SN - Three families make a fake war so they can reach the root, a grail war ensues.

Fate/Apoc - Einzebern's don't summon the devil during the third war, Nazi's steal the grail, it ends up in Romania, someone uses the grail to recreate the same ritual basically in Europe but with more servants.

Fate/Extra - A god-computer that has been observing humanity since before they existed perhaps, sometimes it invites a lot of humans up into its reality marble. They do battle to the death, only the winner survives, the winner is studied to so the computer can figure out "What made this human so different than the others? What allowed him to win". If you win then you're permitted to access the Mooncell's core, and rewrite the face of the Earth.

Fate/Grand/Order - Seven Grail wars across time that cover the entire world, the fate of the world in the balance.

New shit coming out all the time, there's always more to talk about without fail, however /a/ will always defect to talking about the same sorts of things, don't confuse that for "There's nothing left to talk about with the visual novels or new stories, it's all the same shit in these threads".

You have more luck if the thread starts off as as something other than a Fate/Stay thread of any sort at least, like when the new novels for Apoc were coming out. You get less people per thread, but they're always talking about the new stuff and actively participating in something other than "The same shit done to death" as you say. Any time something new is actively coming out, those can be some of the best TM threads. Although it might lose a rank or two if that "Something new coming out" is a redo of some sort of the original novel, since people tend to bring all their old baggage in there.

There's a lot we haven't and aren't yet exploring with Type Moon threads, but it's hard to ween /a/ off certain things. Don't confuse that for your own sort of thing with "There's not really any ground left". Man, we haven't even really talked about Apoc servants and how they've matched up enough, or even some of the other servants from other stories in general. Sure it's been touched on, but not really in enough detail.

The thread always gets distracted with F/SN with time. Fate/Stay has been talked about a lot, but don't think there aren't other stories and novels in the franchise that have barely had much room for serious discussion without being shot down in some way.
