Is it weird for men to like shoujo?
I recommended Kimi Ni Todoke to my friend. He watched the first couple of episodes and then stopped because it was "too gay." Now I feel kinda weird for watching all this shoujo anime. Is it too weird for a grown man to like shoujo?
Im a grown man, but I only watch shoujo for the hair. They always tend to spend time on the hair.
No. In fact, men watching shoujo and such is kind of the basis for a big part of anime otaku culture. Your friend is just desperately afraid someone will catch on to his unstoppable cock-lust, so he scoffs at anything that doesn't bolster his fragile manhood.
Don't be afraid to watch something girly if you actually like it. I'm not a shoujo fan but I had a good time watching your pic for example.
>In fact, men watching shoujo and such is kind of the basis for a big part of anime otaku culture
In the past. These days (2000 onward, rough estimate) Japnese otaku stopped and only rarely shoujo get attention from them. /a/ is a different story, we are more 'girly' than your average otaku.
Man, I really liked this show, especially at the start. Erica was really qt when she got bullied

Shoujo is the only genre that still gets consistent good adaptations along with sports manga.
That said, liking Kimi ni Todoke and even worse, recommending it to a friend is super gay. Might as well ask him if you can suck his dick.
Getting a blowjob from a guy is no different from a girl. A mouth is a mouth. Same with anal sex. In fact, those who like anal sex with a girl are probably closet homosexuals.
I kept seeing people badmouth it, so I was expecting it to be awful, but I ended up likeing it.
The guy wasnt even that terrible of a person, he was just a cartoonish bad boy at best.
and by the end he's obviously a better person anyway.
I like shoujo, especially the weird subgenre of 80's sci-fi shoujo.
You're supposed to self insert as the girl, AND her impossibly cool and handsome love interest.
>mfw I just finished Ao Haru Ride 12th episode
They got nowhere. It's like they just forgot to make the next episode. Fucking bullshit. Seems like there's some prologue OVA but I want my continuation fuck.
Shoujo is a pretty arbitrary demographic, there's plenty of crap in shoujo, and there's plenty of crap in shounen.
Enjoy what you enjoy, and don't let faggots determine otherwise.
Be open to criticism though, just don't let it affect your enjoyment.
>"Page.13" - An episode that continues the story after the recent television anime's 12th and final episode.
The description for the 2nd OVA. Is it worth it? Will I just be more disappointed?
On topic, what's some good shoujo released in the past year or two? Haven't been watching much anime lately.
That's for you to decide, if you believe boys can get pregnant
the only shoujous I watched so far are sailor moon (which was more in th background while doing other stuff) and gekkan shoujou nozaki-kun. what i enjoyed about gekkan was mostly the comedy, bit i also found the mc very cute, and the other girl characters were refreshingly different from what you see in male aimed series. but there is also a lot of pandering to girls which i can't relate to, just like there is pandering to guys in other anime. so i guess i could like a few shoujo, but i wouldn't make it my favorite genre.
Man here. I also enjoy shoujo immensely. Only insecure faggots not comfortable around dicks try to deny that they do because of shit like it's too "gay". Probably don't even get naked in the showers at the gym.
No. Anime studios are well aware that shojou has a secondary audience of adult male otaku. They've been subtly pandering to them as demographic for well over a decade, ever since the first Pretty Cure
>new Last Game never
I think I might be done with this cuckage.
There's a distinct difference with "all-girl" shoujo like Pretty Cure, Tokyo Mew Mew, CCS or any other Sailor Moon ripoff and bishounen/reverse harem like KnT, Bokura ga Ita, Fruits Basket etc.
