Anyone else miss 2012 /a/ with maji no watashi threads
Majikoi threads were pretty great. Seeing discussion of power levels and stuff was really cool. Maybe if Miyako tl doesn't explode spontaneously and more stuff gets tl'd we can get back to it.
I miss 2012 /a/ in general at this point, sadly no discussion killed off Majikoi threads.
>momoyo will never ride you like a horse and make you scream like a girl
been wating for hour and to make this reply, but this nigger took it, fuck
It's pretty much done over there, all they have left is patching.
After that we'll get to see whether it's good or not, at least they did all the routes including agave instead of just miyako.
I suppose I can always pray that they don't do something similar to If My Heart Had Wings and make it worth pirating if that happens.
A little butthurt, I'll admit, but only a little bit. I noticed the past few days, /a/ and /m/ are on the same get schedule, only /a/ is x10 of /m/. I stayed up like an hour getting >>>/m/12222222. Imagine the shitstorm if I got the same get for /a/. But I only noticed it 10 seconds before that anon got it and he earned it. So I'm not upset at all. I'm just happy I got an epic get, I've gotten epic gets before but that one was fun.
I'm not sure what franchise this is from, but I got to plug my favorite gundamu once, so I'm happy. And yes the "all me" mass pinger was me. Sorry.
Right. Power of 10's anon! I saw the first 5-6 characters moving at the same speed.
I'm probably getting banned for this but who cares.
On the other hand, /a/ will get the "legendary screencaps", while /m/ doesn't give all that much of a fuck. My favorite /m/ friend on rizon even kicked me and called me a faggot when I showed him the get. This lends to your point that /m/ is better rather than depletes from it, but still, whatever.
Big tits are festering bags of fat.
No life, no love, just fat that can be trimmed for a better appearance.
Plank offers a cutting board.
If i get dubs its all gonna be daijoubou and kizu will still be fine
There is nothing in a flat chest, big breasts offer softness, warmth and comfort, flat chests only find themselves with insecurities over a flat plain, tell me how many girls do you see wanting a flatter chest compared to those that want a fine set of beautiful loving breasts.
Get this guy a fucking medal.
I can only hope they will move on to the dropped A disks.
Checked, epic bread
None too shabby yourself
So everybody, who is your favourite majikoi?
Don't need epic get to confirm that
Chris. Though I'm also a fan of baseball.
I enjoy the aesthetic of several majikois but I enjoy how passionate Iyo is about her team. Also moro strong.
>From a young age, Yamato showed a high degree of intelligence and understanding, leading him to develop a more mature and confident personality than most children his age. However, this also enabled him to read adult books about philosophy and life among other things, which lead him to have a bleak nihilistic view on life.
I guess the difference between yamato and you and me, is that he wants to become the Prime Minister and has the ability to do so, while you and I shitpost on 4chan and do nothing notable. Perhaps
Yamato was probably intentionally designed that way, while retaining just enough quirkiness to not be a raw insert.
Yamato's level of being a self-insert really varies on the route, In some routes is he nothing but a blatant self-insert and in others I'm not sure how people can self-insert themselves into him
There's definitely a different in maturity between those who read "adult books" at a young age and those who don't. I kind of see books, in one way, as a "cheat code" to acquire wisdom without actually living life. Some men work their entire lives before realizing that their family is what really matters. Other men read a book with that message as it's theme, and realize it decades earlier. So kids who read a lot of "mature" books will become more mature than others, I think. In some ways at least.
I know this is a bit of a moot point at this point, but I fully guessed that [s4s] would take the palindrome (and be off by 1) and the actual GET wouldn't really be a GET and just be a random anime image much like the 100M GET.
By the way, a quick show of replies: Who here on /a/ is looking forward to the 123456789 GET? I was surprised by the lack of caring for the 121212121 GET, so I'm curious to see if anybody actually even considers it a GET on /a/ anymore or not.
Agreed, I want characters not just a view point.
If you think about it it makes sense why they wouldn't, first off you have the harder to insert crowd, then you get the times when you finally get to the sex scenes, I doubt you'd want to hear the MC narrating half of what's going on instead of just reading it.
>hear the MC narrating half of what's going
Internal narration/thoughts don't need to get voiced. Only spoken dialogue.
But, anyway, Nitroplus is one of the few major companies that gets it right and voices 90% of their MCs.
Too bad 90% of nitroplus novels are SO FUCKING HARD to read that nearly nobody will ever get to experience them. Seriously, I bet only like a couple thousand non-Japanese people have ever read Muramasa.
Yes. Really, really complex Japanese. Muramasa is a meme in DJT and /jp/ because it's so fucking hard to read. Tons of difficult kanji, archaic grammar, small bits of chinese thrown in (due to buddhism and historical shit). Someone can read Maji de Watashi with little trouble, and then get fucked hard by muramasa.
Yes, Muramasa is worth reading. Everyone who has read it has sincerely recommended it from the bottom of their heart. It has stellar reviews on EGS (Japanese VNDB). Nitroplus is known to make amazing stuff. There's literally nothing like Muramasa out there.
Also, sasuga Momoyo.
Shame you didn't use a better shot of her
The problem is just I forget things, constantly. I can write all the hiragana 50 times each and the next day i'll have forgotten what any of them mean.
It's bad enough when I forget if I locked my car or turned off the stove. Languages are something else entirely.
I forget things too. You have to practice every day, it'll grind into your long term memory. This isn't really DJT though, I don't want to bully you into learning a language if you clearly don't want to and have problems doing so.
Well, there is also the fact that I see no true benefit in doing so.
I mean, at least Mandarin gets me somewhere in business. What use is Japanese when Japan's been in a recession since the early 90s?
In terms of nominal GDP, yes. In terms of real GDP and in GNP they've never recovered from the lost generation.
>Are you seriously more concerned about the practical business applications of Japanese than in getting to read raw VNs and manga?
Well I'm an accountant, so yes it is concerning to me
I used the desire to read raw VNs/manga as motivation, and I'm VERY happy with my decision. It's really enjoyable to read raw stuff, help out with translations, and I just like being bilingual. Fine with me.
Well, obviously it's not for everyone, but you literally said
>I don't think it's a good idea to use being able to read raw VNs/manga as a motivation to learn Japanese.
When it is a good idea for a lot of people.
> for those Japanese people out there who likes to play western game which the text is in all English, should they be learning English
I'm not a native english speaker, and I learned english because I enjoyed english games and cartoons.
Now I learn japanese because I enjoy japanese games and cartoons.
Stop being a little bitch.
Well, learning a new language is also its own reward, but most people won't understand that until they actually do it. Besides, I think what I said is a fine motivation. Would you have responded the way you did if I said "getting to read fine Japanese literature" instead?
The problem with Muramasa is that the level of japanese it requires is more than you'll need for any other situation.
Speaking as someone that lived in Japan for a while, here is my experience in learning the language: the Genki 1 and 2 books.
If you made it through those 2 books and remembered 90% of it, guess what? You will never have a single issue talking to people in Japan or holding a discussion, because every single conversation in that country is the goddamn same. Sometimes I felt like I was Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. All those people ever talk about is the same shit, and apparently whoever wrote those books knew that.
Which makes one think, why am I going farther at that point? I can speak to any random Japanese person I run into with the same ease as if I were a native. The couple words I didn't know, I picked up from talking to people.
>People can write good VNs.
Not that I want to sound like a condescending asshole, but if one is truly confident in their writing, they wouldn't need pictures and sound to help carry it to the reader.
Personal experience too. I haven't gotten anywhere near to mastering Japanese after 2 years, after using it as a motivation.
Maybe I phrased it poorly, but the overall motivation level is more important than the reason for learning a new language (so yes, I'd have responded the same way). If learning for the sake of being able to read raw VNs/manga is that strong of a motivation, then good for you, but it usually isn't enough. I know Bobby Fischer taught himself multiple languages just so he could read the most obscure of foreign chess notes, and he went on to dominate the chess scene. But not everyone is like him.
Back to the topic, being able to read raw VNs/manga was probably not a good enough motivation for anon above to learn Japanese, and if that's the case, he shouldn't go with it because he'll be getting nowhere.
Motivation is literally irrelevant. Do your goddamn reps every day. Do reading practice, whether you're motivated to or not. If people get nowhere in a language, it's not because they weren't motivated- it's because they didn't fuckin' study enough. I wasn't motivated to learn math, but I got an A in college calculus because I studied every night. Study! Do your damn work.
Films are not books, they are an entirely different medium that runs on different rules. A VN is trying to be a book, a picture book specifically.
Then I think they are underestimating the intelligence of their audience.
Media that is primarily printed, yes.
And the day that becomes the norm will be the day that true literature dies like Harlan Ellison always feared would happen.
Possessing self-discipline or not is a myth. It's simply making a rational choice- I want to learn Japanese, so I have to do my reps. I want to learn Japanese, so I have to read X pages of manga a day. It's not about discipline, it's just me rationally recognizing that choosing to not do reps will lead to me not learning Japanese.
Not that guy, but that's what discipline is. The capability to follow through your own self-imposed rules.
According to your logic, nobody should ever suffer of any addiction, be it smoking, drugs or drinking, but we both know that's definitely not the case. I think you're greatly underestimating willpower and self-discipline, while treating all humans like robots.
>A VN is trying to be a book, a picture book specifically.
Rather than discipline or anything, in my mind, that would just people wanting to be lazy more than wanting to know Japanese. Someone is addicted to drugs because they want it more than they want money or health. If someone really wants to know Japanese, they will pick it over being lazy, no self discipline involved.
>If someone really wants to know Japanese, they will pick it over being lazy, no self discipline involved.
>If someone really wants to know Japanese, they will pick it over being lazy
That's exactly what self-discipline is though.
That is one picture which I used for reference.
>Someone is addicted to drugs because they want it more than they want money or health
Ok not him, but you realize that the reason they're addicted is because the chemicals in the drugs fucks with their brain and makes them go through withdrawal if they don't keep taking it, right?
It's not a simple thing of "oh I want to take drugs more than I want to be healthy", no in a lot of cases it's "I feel like I can't live without having the drugs anymore, whether I want them or not"
Oh yeah, because you can just STOP doing heroin on a dime. These drugs, man I don't need them! They're a waste.
Watch as your votiming out your insides because you don't have methadone to balance out the lack of heroin in your system.
Rehabilitation centers can help minimize that. And the life-destructing influences of heroine are far worse than vomiting. Quitting cold-turkey alone IS really bad. But slowly quitting in a rehabilitation center has no downsides besides temporary suffering.
I should also note that the vomiting is only what others see. The reality is your body is attacking your own spinal column in a desperate attempt to find the drug in your system so the withdrawal symptoms go away.
I'm not saying the effects of taking aren't bad, they are, but your body will try and destroy itself if you can't get a fix. It can potentially kill you if combined with other effects.
Indeed, heroine addiction is especially bad. When I made the addict comment, I had in mind weed, tobacco, and alcohol, as all three can be quit with little danger to your life.
Yeah, I read this cracked thing that said something to that affect.
You definitely won't die though.
The internet has changed, that's for sure.
Soon enough I won't even need this image anymore.
HAHA YES you know whats up anon, you know whats up
Look at those number and those melons too
>mfw EOPs are only now getting Majikoi stuff
>and not even all of it
>and it's some shitty pseudotranslation
>and they'll never ever get Anekouji Naoko
>Machine translated and then corrected for faulty stuff.
Please be trolling
No, what the fuck are you on about? None of them are hard, only Muramasa and maybe Hello, World. Everything written by Shimokura is easy. And Urobuchi is medium difficulty at max.
Well, DI is hard, that much I can agree with, and so is KKK, but raiL soft's VNs are a few leagues above it, considering Mareni writes similarly to early 20th century writers. Maybe that retarded anon who was shitting on VNs without even knowing how they are seen in Japan (as video games) should try writers like him or Romeo, that would make him notice that as a medium like any other, there are good and bad works. And good writing can be anywhere.
>raiL soft's VNs are a few leagues above it
No anon, don't say stuff like that
how can you not like her? I can somewhat understand if you just like her and not love her but hate her ?! Does not compute.
Right, time to re-read the manga. Again.
momoyo is even better in the manga if that is even possible
my obsession all over again
>tfw that bombshell
