In Fate/Zero Kiritsugu didn't engage directly in battle against Servants. He even avoided Assassin, who is too strong for a human to cope with, despite being one of the weakest Servant. Yet in FSN, Kotomine dueled with True Ass. and was able to hold his ground. And Shirou also had a manly fight against Gil who is supposed to have even better stats than Assassin. By rights the Holy Grail War should be easiest with Assassin, as targeting the Master is the most sure-fire way to go, and Assassin is the only one who can do that behind the servant's backs.

Gilgamesh did not have his Excalibur blocking armor, which would have made cutting off his arm impossible when pulling out Ea. It also means that Gilgamesh would have been able to physically bull his way in the fight and just punch combo to death.
Without his armor, his entire body becomes targetable. With the armor, only his head becomes targetable. Even Saber could not target his head with him just blocking with his gauntlets.

That's how much of a gamebreaker that armor is.

Gilgamesh fought against two people in that fight.
Gilgamesh also was about to win had the final blow not been delivered by someone else even with one arm blown the fuck out.


Anyone who says this fight was indicative of how "killable" Gil is is a fucking proxyinsertfagget that still believes Dark Berserker was going to lose straight up to NLBW.

From the scene where Kirei is lifting up Shiro asking him what his wish was, the reply being that he'd never undo what was already done, I had the impression that all along he never once thought against changing the past, but working on the future. For the second, I think mine is more accurate, since it's Archer of all people to come kill hm. And for the third, in the (true) end, Shiro still ends up going for both: The girl and his desire to be a superhero.
