I don't get why people recite this so incessantly. If you didn't know about the change in directors (hard to avoid if you watched it as it aired, I guess) I think you'd be hard-pressed to even notice a shift in style from episode 4 to 5. And Yamakan was doing fine. I fell in love with the anime from the very first episode.

I saw Lucky Star when I first got into anime. I really enjoyed it at the time. I recently saw a volume of the manga at my library and read it.... It was actually a bit difficult to get through. Maybe it was the KyoAni magic with the anime, or maybe I have better taste now, but I found the constant references to being an "otaku" and collecting stuff really annoying. Like really forced. And that was pretty much the entire gag of the manga, Katana =3 is having a discussion with friends, says something that is part of the discussion, but then explains what she says because it has to do with a video game or special manga edition or something and kagami goes "ehhhhhhhh?????" Gets old quickly. Love the character designs though.

It had it slow moments but overall, it was enjoyable. Sterotypical characters but likable.

Spawned some great music, both originals and re-mixes. Worth the watch.

Lucky Star is pretty good for an anime that looks like it's only moe-moe. The characters have really normal conversations including about periods.
The only thing that bugs me is there are always Konata x Kagami shippers in these threads that try to convince everyone that their romance is canon.

Never resolved what end to eat a cornet. Shit anime.
