Well I guess it's not unfeasible that one of the episodes they'll show at the event is an hour. I mean realistically that's only really a little over 90 minutes considering the actual length of episodes.

Cour 2 doesn't need as much hour long episodes because the pacing of the route is more action based.

They tried really hard in cour one to pace it along with one hour episodes to keep the audience from losing interest. There's no way to lose interest in cour 2 because everything is already set up and the audience has become invested.

Im worried about how they will do the Shirou v. Archer and Lancer saving Rin scene moments since it is hard to imagine how it will be done versus the VN method of doing it.

Each of them need their own independent episode to cover them. Im assuming Ufotable will do it but we just have to wait.

They have easily enough time for Shirou /Archer for a single length episode. The scene in the VN was only about 30 minutes long and they've proven they can cover that same length in less than 5 in animated form.

It's a question of how to direct it is what I'm worried about. Considering it's mostly a battle of mindset. And they don't exactly have a good track record so far for that stuff.

I know it's not the same director but Kerry vs Kayneth reminds of a similar battle, except a mind game instead of battle of ideals. They really cut out a lot of depth from that fight with exclusion of Kerry's thought processes.

Reading through UBW recently I found there was like 20 minutes of pre-fight Archer just talking to Shirou and Saber. Pretty much his whole motivation and character in those minutes. It'd be lame but they'll probably have to cut most of it.

His death was far more embarrassing in UBW though. Even if people say otherwise, the guy appeared three times in that route, was competent the few times he did appear, nearly took down the beast far above everyone, and only lost because the thing he was fighting was beyond any servant as he underestimated what a monster it might be at that point.

In UBW, it's the worst sort of jobbing, you should be saying "I can't wait until they see the end of the current anime" more than anything. Gilgamesh literally had to do everything wrong for Shirou to have a chance, there's no bigger moment of jobbing in the game.

Shirou himself said two or three times even after the reality marble went up, that if he lets up for a second it's just over, this is his only and golden chance. He cannot let Gilgamesh regain his train of thought at all, he has to stay off balance. It's not auto-win at all, Shirou had to keep him pressured.

However that's not what people have been talking about so far, people have been saying that Gilgamesh had to do everything stupid plot-wise in order for Shirou to have a chance to put up the reality marble at all. The entire fight was "Gilgamesh arrogants around and does stupid shit, so that it's possible for Shirou to have a chance, in an awkward way".
