I don't know what other "stuff" you are referring to, but for the hiking scene at least it seemed to be pretty clearly disappointment+worry rather than jealousy. Furthermore after he warmed up to Gendo he and Gendo seemed to have the closest relation of any characters in the series, they trust each other completely and seemed quite comfortable around each other.
