The ending itself was fine, but getting there was a real struggle. Yamada devolved into a piece of shit that would just cry every fucking time she was on screen. Sensei joined in the Hagub owl and won at the last second, which just didn't feel right considering he's acted as a father figure for the whole series up to that point. Morita was just a shit character from the start, though now he gets more focus. He really pisses me off the most. His plight is that he's too much of a Gary Stu, which ends up driving others away. This has to be the most stupid, absolute worst character I've ever had the displeasure of watching. I'd rather watch Mahouka or SAO with a Gary Stu that doesn't angst about how he's too much of a Gary Stu.

Though everything with Takemoto and Mayama was fine, and Hagu actually got some development as a character instead of being a plot device. It would have been great if the rest of the characters didn't ruin it by having so much focus on their shitty issues.

Beautiful art, fantastic character design, super cool setting, memorable characters, fun story. Premiere episode was 9/10. Why /a/ hates Fractale I'll never know, I thought it was great. I've yet to see an actual reason why it's bad other than just shitting on Yamakan.

Promo art was great, but anime art was meuh at best, with uninspired animation and lots of QUALITY (the earthquake didn't help though). Characters were uninteresting, the story was all over the place, worst Okada script ever. Yamakan failed to save anime the exact same season when Shinbou and Butcher actually did it.
