Why do people tend to dislike shoujo more than shounen?
Because a lot of shoujo is really bad and a good portion of it is focused on yaoi and/or creepy men with large hands.
There's some good shoujo, but a lot of it is basically the same as those trashy romance novels that you see in book stores.
>Fact: The best shoujo/josei have the best character development you'll ever see in the medium; well beyond what shonen is capable of achieving.
Why lump josei with shoujo? Also Phoenix is shonen so fuck you.
What about pic related?
There's also two upcoming shoujo that I know nothing about, but might be worth checking out: Ore Monogatari and Akagami no Shirayukihime.
Because shoujo is wish fulfilment for girls and shounen is wish fulfilment for boys.
Watching a bunch of doormats being totally fine with their love interest sucking and all dick that come within a 100 mile radius of her is just as rage-inducing as I imagine girls think harem manga is.
They don't make them like these anymore.
The ones from the 70's/80's.
For some reason recent shoujos seem to have completely given up on plot and interesting settings and replace it all by cringey misunderstandings. Also old school shoujos heroine have ambitions besides sucking the Mr. Popular's dick.
Only recent shoujos I can think of is Ouran High School Host Club and the beginning of Kimi Ni Todoke, before it overstayed its welcome.
Glass no Kamen
A more recent good read is Hana Yuri Dango if you're into taming tsundere husbandos. The heroine is awsome.
Older stuff. "They Were 11" is good.
There's always a fucking love triangle even though main girl and main guy is close on getting together.
Its like a reverse nisekoi without new girls every now and then the fillers are basically worst boy shitting up the relationship of main girl and boy , yes I'm talking about
Are there any shoujo/josei without fujoshit pandering besides Nodame Cantabile?
>Because the average shoujo is really fucking awful holy shit
There was a time shoujo was really badass like with Rose of Versailies and Sukeban Deka back in the 70s
What the fuck happened with the female demographic?
That's actually a good point. How guys feel about inverted harems? I usually don't mind because it feels even that there can be girls with a male harem just as the dudes with a female one. Also most shoujo inverted harems are usually more focused on romance and interactions rather than just a dude falling on tits or being an "alpha" hunting pussy. The last one is funny because typical "alpha" do appear in shoujo sometimes but nevertless fall for the heroine.
Rape's definition means penetration. Rarely do the MC's grab and rape the feMC. They might get on top of her and start touching her but never actually rape her then and there.
>Shounen doesn't have rape and abusive romantic relationships.
>doesn't have abusive romantic relationships
Gee, I wonder why the violent tsundere is so prominent.
Akatsuki no Yona
Tsunderes don't have real power, they're toothless puppies instead of wild beasts. The tsundere may have super powers but she can't really hurt the MC, at best she act like a spoiled brat
>Shounen doesn't have abusive romantic relationships.
Last time they adapted a shouojo manga was years ago with Ouran and that was great. Its one of those series you can watch over and over and not get tired of.
Dub wasn't bad either
I think it may be the case. Although my only source is that one chapter in Gintama with a little girl being given shounen manga to read as shoujo was too heavy on the content.
>Takahashi's works have all been shounen.
She's done seinen as well, like Maison Ikkoku. Just a while ago in Blue Blazes the main character was shocked to see her series in Big Comic Spirits.
"Would they force the creator of Urusei Yatsura to draw porn?!" or something like that
This will never be fully scanlated.
>for the same reason we don't like seeing beaten wives still clinging to their abusive asshole husbands.
Are you actually comparing a fictional history to real life, are you one of the idiots who took 50 Shades of Grey as serious?
There is, but you have to be patient...
>i-if i call him a newfag i'll look less retarded!!!
There's something really likeable about the Hak/Yona pairing, I hope they will become canon.
What's the solution? Girls fucking love wife beaters, at least on fiction, and there's nothing you can do about it. Jerk-off with the seasonal haremshit and get over it
You. You are a good guy.
>tfw silly puffy jackets and high pants and inverted triangle bodies will never really ever get back in style
>Reiko Shimizu's era of insanity has long ended
>saki hiwatari's art became shitty
>terra he is basically a goddamn fossil
Liking old manga is knowing true suffering.
However, I just recently started reading Kanata Kara and I'm very much liking the art style.
Both are unrealistic, but where shounen is outlandishly so and clearly meant as fiction, shoujo sets itself low enough that it teases the notion that if you act/talk/dress in a certain way then all your dreams will be rewarded with fulfillment, giving it a false realism that's so naive it's insulting. Shoujo preys on psychology and manipulates wish-fulfillment fantasies.
Femanon here. I only like shojo/josei when they're smut and I only enjoy rapey smut because nothong gets me off like imagining being forced to submit to a sexy alpha's pleasure. I'm really happy we're getting Diabolik Lovers season 2, I've masturbated so much to Ayato, he's fucking perfect and I want him to make me pregnant.
Mayu Shinjo and Diabolik Lovers are a lot of women's schlick material.
Why do you guys hate women?
