Even if it isn't romance, it isn't going straight back to the status quo. That would be totally pointless. Even as something as poorly written as VVV had the characters change after having sex, and seeing how the people writing this have a seemingly good grasp on what they're are doing it is foolish to assume it won't have implications.

We'll just have to wait.

Garo is the type of series where the MC fucking a girl and it not becoming a major relationship is possible. It's also the type where she could be dead next episode easily. Or she could be his waifu forever, we don't really know.
