I'm still holding out that by episode 10, either Wo or Northern Princess will explain to Bucky that the Abyssals are simply roaming the ocean because they are in constant need of resources and are simply trying to survive then Akagi snaps and kills her while Fubuki watches.

Kancolle Journal arrived today, I can see why some nip reviews said it didn't have that great paper. A big chunk of it is manga and novel chapters, which have better than magazine quality paper but would have still been better if printed on paper as good as the one allotted to illustrations by different artists.
