A writer made five points about the game (in the same fashion as the five tenets).

1. Tons of fanservice
Game felt more like two completely different games in one. Story Mode and Mission Mode were an action game while Event Mode was like an adventure game (VN). Neither felt like a bonus to the other, which is why the writer felt it was two games in one. But not two separate games since story mode and mission mode unlock events and event mode unlocks bonuses for action times. Writer clarifies that events are new scenes, not just scene replay features like in other games. Story mode for serious story like the anime, event mode for all the fluff you wanted to see more of in the anime.

2. Properly introduce Story Mode and Mission Mode!
One stage per story. Beat small enemies to get to boss. Beat boss, move to sealing ritual and then you crush the soul that runs around to clear the stage.
Writer found "Normal" difficulty to have easy small enemies but bosses that are hard unless you read their motions and attacks. Even if you beat the boss, the sealing ritual shouldn't be taken lightly either since there's a time limit.
But it shouldn't be too hard even for people not used to action games. Go easy mode or grind levels. It's a character game, so go ahead and up the difficulty if it's too easy for you.
Use Mankai since there's no downside. Strong enough to take down bosses. Fills right up with attacks and just guards.

Can't control them in Mankai mode. 3D models look good and even though 3D action games kind of need to have the camera behind the character, the models still have facial expressions so you can turn the camera around and take screenshots.

Facial expressions and movements are detailed. Each character has different abilities. Pretty fun just to move around. Characters you aren't controlling will still call you by phone so it gets kind of hectic.

3. Explain the characters' individual traits!
Player characters have the same weapons and actions as the anime.
Yuna
Weakness is her short range, but she can attack lots of surrounding enemies. Has air combos. Pretty much a standard go-to character for people not used to these sorts of games.
Hard to reach bosses, so perhaps the key is to use just guards and charge mankai.
Togo
Long range because guns, but you can't move her with the left stick. Can only move with jumps and evasion. Probably hardest to play. <bold>Only character whose attacks auto-lock without using the left stick</bold> so you can manage by observing the vertexes from higher up and mashing attack buttons.
Not being able to walk is difficult... but you could feel the love from the staff in how they dared to reproduce the original work in that regard. But it makes boss fights difficult. Recommended to either level her up before playing or use other characters first to get used to the game.

But when you consider that the events unlocked with her also include events for "that character"... it makes you want to play her, doesn't it?

You'd think she'd be melee, but her reach is long and wide. Weak point is that sword is heavy and attacks swing wide, so she leaves openings. But her charm point is just her level of power.

It's just satisfying to use her huge sword! She uses an even bigger sword during Mankai.

Digression: [the writer] personally likes her better when she's not fighting. She eats more udon than in the anime.

Itsuki
Attacks with wire bracelet. Wider rather than longer reach. Strong against the small enemies. Too slow and not so strong so she might need to rely on Mankai for boss battles more than the other girls.

Since the story takes place around anime EP3~4, you can hear her cute "voice" and there's no downside to Mankai, so don't feel bad about using it!

Karin
She's strong, but for some reason, maybe she's not the strongest in the game? No, it's not like I like Karin or anything!
She's fast and her twin sword technique is easy to land hits. Easy to use for both small and boss enemies. I personally think she's a character that'll be a relief for beginners.

Recommended for first time players or for mission mode. Because she's strong and she's cute. But it's not like I like Karin or anything.

4. Tons of daily life events in event mode! Don't worry about things like chronology or seasons!!
The other main part of the game is Event Mode. Get more events by clearing stories in story mode or time attack and other missions in mission mode.

Not a scene replay feature. Unlocked events are seasonal events or daily life events, completely different from the story mode story.

The main story is serious, but event stories completely ignore chronology and seasons in a good way. Under supervision of Takahiro and Studio Gokumi, as many slapstick daily events and seasonal events as possible were thought up for the adventure (VN) portion of the game.

The anime got serious around the middle and most of the daily life scenes stopped, but many fans wanted to see more gag and slapstick daily events. This is the mode for those fans. But all events were written with supervision, so there's no breaking character. Just relax and forget about the Vertexes for now.

There are many summer and winter events like many fans wanted to see (not that I've had the time to play them all). They're all of appropriate length. Satisfactory volume too. Even if the action part wasn't included <bold>I might still have thought the event scenes alone would be worth it</bold>. That's just how varied and high-quality the events were.

Some events require you to fulfill secondary objectives in story mode ore clear missions in mission mode.

Some may seem hard to clear like "reach the boss without taking damage" but if it's story mode, you can strengthen the girls or lower the difficulty. In mission mode it's a matter of choosing a different character sometimes. Essentially just keep playing and you'll unlock more and more events. So people who are bad at action parts and just want to see the events just need to put in some effort.
