Someone please explain the logic behind remaking a story that already has a perfect anime adaption.
But it's not perfect anon. There are some things they left out of the adaptation.
There were a lot more sci fi elements in the novels, one of the first ones I noticed was the device that Rubinsky used to talk ti the Terrarist leader, it was like some sort of telepathic device he used in a dark room while shouting random words to himself to activate it.
That and they can pretty much go anywhere in terms of design. LOGH novels aren't LNs they're just normal sci fi novels that were written without anime in mind. So you could have a totally different style if you wanted to without ruining the novel content.
That being said I hope the designs are the same like pic related from the DMM game.
HBO or some western company should get on this. They could really make something about of a live action adaptation.
well technically, there are novel covers, but those are just an illustrator's take on them.
I reckon 50. I can't see LOGH getting 110 episodes in this day and age. It does have a big fanbase but it's not big enough to warrant that many episodes. That said I'd rather see hour long OVAs once every few months.
It's one of those shows I'm dreading. Hopefully it won't be worse than Tytania which fell into all the traps I expected a modern-made space opera anime would by trying to do to much and cover all the bases with character cliches.
Aslong as Bittenfeld turn into a violent loli, I'm fine with that.
>That said I'd rather see hour long OVAs once every few months.
So the Yamato 2199 route? That could work, though the wait would be very painful.
The current adaptation is awful might aswell be a drama CD considering it looks like shit and lacks any visual creativity, just literally illustrating what is happening. The only good things about it are the vas and osts.
Pic related these are the actors confirmed for alive/dead and if they were replaced in the Gaidens.
They will remake it with shitty generic moe character design and little girls in the place of our beloved characters.
>Paul von Oberstein
Why do you have to remind me?
When Reinhard was talking to Mittermeyer about
Reuenthal's Rebellionand he pointed out that Reuenthal was his friend too, i couldn't help but question that. I think they've got history and Reuenthal owes him a debt, but not much else going on between them.
As it stands Bittenfeld the opera buddy was like his closest friend by the end of the series, so i hope one day we get to see more imperial friendships than just Mitttermeyer/Reuenthal and Reinhard/Kircheis
>/a/ bitching about moe designs
Let's face it, changes that it'll have a moe design are pretty low. It's not like remakes rape everything.
And despite all this, you'll still be watching it. Haven't we gone trough this thousands of times already?
please point out the posts in this thread that are bitching about moe designs
1 more post than i thought, but next time don't pick one post out of thread and claim that's /a/'s opinion. But you're right, as long as it isn't Golden Wings 2 we'll still watch it.
Even then, maybe
I had a similar feeling in regards to Reinhard's relationship with his admirals. I felt that was one of the reasons Reinhard's depression really set in. He hadn't any close friendship after Kircheis, leading him into his relationship with Mariendorf.
Although it'd be nice to see the Admirals being much more jovial in the readaptation, I think that it serves some purpose as a contrast to the FPA, who at many times seemed to have closer relationships, and as mentioned prior, Reinhard's depression.
Better animation and review of some of the pacing will improve the narrative.
Space battleship Yamato 2199 is an excellent example of a remake that exceeds the quality of the original.
There were limits placed upon the original story at the time caused directly by the animation. The choice of perspective and detailed character dialogue was necessary for the series.
If all goes well, there will be a little less talking, as some things will be shown rather than blatantly spelled out. A more elegant form of story-telling for a very elegant series.
Although, it could very well be completely ruined if the staff do not love their source material.
>it'd be nice to see the Admirals being much more jovial in the readaptation
I do want to see them have friendly relationship with each other, everytime they meet in the OVAs they're either in serious discussion about tactics/strategy or insulting Oberstein.
In regards to Aono, Murai was in one the Gaiden stories (the one centered on Yang's first exploits). Also, Sakakibara reprised her role as Frederica in the same story. And another thing, in regards to >>121437482, Kessler showed up in some of the Reinhard-centered stories.
I think the idea is that it could be remade with the story, pacing and character interactions intact, but just improve the animation quality.
That'll never happen and we all fucking know it.
This is great.
1. Reinhardt 2. Kircheis 3. Mittermeyer 4. Reuental 5. Oberstein 6. Bittenfeld 7. Muller

So are we in agreement that only Madhouse would be able to do this remake justice? Provided that they take this project seriously and give it a top priority.
Which studio has the best 3d animators?
Also I'm worried what happend with the musical direction
Also I never noticed before, but the Terran church actually uses Orthodox rank names rather than Catholic ones. Catholic bishops are 司教, Orthodox bishops (episkopos) are 主教, archbishops are 大司教 and 大主教 etc. As you can see, 主 is used for Orthodox clergy and 司 for Catholic clergy, but otherwise rank names are usually the same.
The Grand Bishop of the Terran Church is 総大主教, which seems to be an Orthodox variant of the Catholic Patriarch (総大司教), but modern Orthodox Patriarchs are just called 総主教. 総大主教 was apparently used in the past for the Patriarch of Constantinople (who is first among equals), though now the term 全地総主教 (Ecumenical Patriarch) is preferred.
The moar you know.
Really, it should have been obvious that the Terran Church is based on the Orthodox Church from the way they dress (black hoods and robes with jewelry hanging from the neck over clothes.) Deepest lore.

How is this a problem? If you don't want it then don't watch it, autistic piece of shit.
What has Wakamoto been doing lately anyway? Last thing I heard him in was Wizard Barristers, I'm sure he'll show up in whatever episodes of Gintama that are coming but in pic related he doesn't look to great these days. I think we might lose him soon /a/.
