Shingo Araki. This man managed to pull off the fiery shonen protagonists of the 80s so well that it still works perfectly today, to the point where the artstyle is emulated as much as possible even thought the man died a few years ago.

I'm a huge fan of Uki Atsuya's designs.

His art is improving but not in every domain. The faces are better, the anatomy is still shit, the shading is way better, the action scenes and titans look better, the characters's looks are still not constant.

I really like Atsuya Uki's art, but it doesn't seem to survive the transition into anime with the exception of Cencoroll (naturally). Tsuritama didn't capture the appeal and I doubt Digimon Tri will either.

By the way, you might know this already, but the picture you posted is by Mebae, not Uki himself. They're friends I believe, Mebae helped out a bit on Cencoroll.

The short jackets are designed this way to not hinter the 3DGM, which use the leather straps.

Yeah, but the designs are what I wanted to show, so I just grabbed it off of google.

I feel like Tsuritama did a decent job matching up colors, background, and atmosphere with those designs. But I suppose it didn't manage to capture the detail of those fine lines.

Lets talk about why Sekiguchi is the best character designer to grace anime.
