At the risk of raising e-peen, what's the best scan group out there?
I nominate pic related, they may not be the fastest but it's always quality work. And they've won my respect since Medaka Box.
>won my respect since Medaka Box
Medaka Box is the reason they're a shit scan group. Causing drama and threatening not to scan it anymore because they were being slow faggots and /a/ did it faster for a few weeks.
Bunch of god damn drama whores.
>At the risk of raising e-peen, what's the best scan group out there?
>We're doing this for free in our valuable time.
>We'll stop scanning.
>We've stopped scanning. Donate!!!
I stopped helping out translation groups because fuck them. When I volunteer my time for a specific series because I am interested in it, don't get into a pissy fit when I don't want to do other series.
The manga translation scene hasn't changed one fucking bit with their drama shit.
>but it's always quality work.
You're a funny guy.
And even putting aside a lot of mistakes like Zenkichi's girlfriend or 700 of people, those guys threw some retarded hissy fits back when /a/ did a few chapters faster than them.
>EOPs believing that they're entitled to their handouts
>EOPs believing that they're in any position to get pissy with their benefactors who could just as easily fuck off to some Japanese site and lose nothing except some autists bitching at them
>EOPs not releasing how frail and lacking in leverage their position really is
Always fun to watch.
Admit it, just the sight of that honey gets your body ready.
My only beef with these guys is that they use the Nip names instead of Chinese.
I hate it when groups get all pissy about other groups "stealing" their series. Just dropping it is bad enough, but then you have shit like pic related where one group is just churning out terrible translations to stay ahead and make the better group drop it.
Psylocke couldn't continue anyway, they don't have the staff for it. EGS is a terrible group, though. What's their deal? Are they another [insert popular online reader] group that has dozens of staff members and no quality control? Like MangaStream does.
Fuck you, you know damn well you made the thread purely for e-peen.
Any Translation Group out there willing to take a crack at translating these? >>121334694
I am willing to try and scan them. But I lack translator skills.
For me Turnip Farmers is up there as well, they have the advantage of only working with one Manga, but they work fast and with quality and only asked for enough to cover Raw's and web maintenance.
I have someone who's willing to translate it and cleaning a chapter takes literally five seconds, but seeing how many people suck their dicks just for being faster kills all my motivation.
This is a dumb question, you're not going to like a scan group if you hate the manga they do, and a scan group isn't going to make you like a manga just because they do it, so what's the actual fucking point in asking about the "best" when it's all down to your personal taste in manga
>when it's all down to your personal taste in manga
Nigga what? Obviously groups can differ in quality of translations, editing, timeliness, dramashit, etc. It's not a discussion of "I like X manga so I like Y group."
There are lots of quality scan groups with very little difference in translations, editing, timeliness, dramashit, etc. Therefore the only real reason to call one of the "good" groups the "best" group is that you like the works they do.
Groups that are bad at quality aren't even in the discussion.
The Lusty Lady Project
Tsundere Service Providers
Little White Butterflies
random /a/ groups with more than 10 release life span.
>one of the best
Well, that's the point isn't it? You don't consider Tulip Farmers to be remarkably better than the other groups you consider to be in the "one of the best" tier, so the idea that a scanlation group could be "the best" is, at best, your personal favorite out of a set whose primary differences are the titles they're working on.
That's really your argument? Because people don't rank a clear and definite best, there's no point in talking about "the best" at all?
Either way, I don't have a single group I call the best, but I still don't see why you're suggesting people would determine the best just primarily on what their favorite series are. There's no correlation between what groups I think are top tier and what groups do my favorite series, since things like TL quality and cleaning ability are much closer to being objective characteristics.
I like Hox but sometimes I think /a/ sucks his dick too much. Let the guy continue his good work and we'll quietly sing his praises when he updates.
Also he needs to mod more, there's been a lot of garbage on /a/ these past few weeks.
OP was asking which group period was the best (and proceeded to single out one of them), which is dumb because as we've agreed, there is no particular difference between "one of the best"-type groups that demonstrate fluency in all the phases of translating.
As far as favorite series go, it is down to simply people are going to read the titles they like and not read the ones they don't, and furthermore they are reading manga to, you know, read the freaking manga and not grade out scanlators on their work.
So if you ask somebody which group singular is the best, they are most likely to pick from the ones they have the most familiarity with, which means the ones they read the most, which means the manga they like the most. Which means OP's post is so much circlejerky nonsense and has been called out as such.
But yeah, there isn't much point in talking about "the best" anyway. It's nice to not suck and all, but in the end if you really like a manga you're going to read it even if the scan group isn't "the best", and if you don't care about a manga you're not going to read it even if "the best" is working on it.
>all translated by one guy
This faggot is working on a lot
>mfw reading Himizu and the scanlators literally put in a trigger warning before a chapter
They're the same guy, he also does Arachnid
>Shin Chimoguri Ringo
Is that a sequel to that cancelled series?
maigo's work on mahou tsukai no yome is outstanding
hox and pretty anon are also great
his work isn't 100% his own - he does a ton, but I think most of the time he's collaborating with other anons.
i don't read scanlations anymore but i'll always remember 10sigh plowing through claymore at full force.
also miss the days you could just dump a translated script on /a/ and see it show up on mangaupdates in a few hours
