Asuka's may be the best of the bunch. Despite her interest in sexuality, she appears to dread motherhood throughout the original series. And as such, this quote illustrates a great deal of situational irony, contradicting what we would expect from Asuka. She is clearly willing to embrace motherhood in order to make love to her beloved Kaji, something she'd never done before. And indeed, this shows a great deal of maturity;remembering the scene where she sleeps with Shinji and subconsciously utters "Mama", Asuka was very much still a child in NGE, and stays that way until the end. Here, though, she contractually accepts responsiblity in order to recieve a "grown-up kiss" (to put it in Misato's terms). The psychosexual development of Asuka within these few lines is astounding, as it showcases that she had finally come of age.

First off Gendo doesn't need to raise Yui from the dead or whatever since she's still alive in this timeline so why are Gendo and Yui participatiing in Selee's plans?
