RenRuki is the pairing that makes the most sense, but because Renji is just this super shinigami fellow, who nicely fits as Nakama as well as gotei (just like Rukia) anyone who ships IchiRuki knows a RenRuki ends means Rukia will never go back to the living.

IchiRuki shippers know that Ichigo being a real live boy is the biggest threat to their ship. It's the one thing that Orihime really has over Rukia no matter what.

That's why IchiRuki shippers claim Ichigo's been dead all along, or now point out that the tickets mean he's not coming back and will stay a shinigami (rather than the tickets being foreshadowing that the big wigs suspect that Ichigo will be chosen as the replacement soul king)
