When did Berserk peak for you?
For me it's got to be Albion/Conviction arc
>that sudden jump in art quality from volume 18 onwards
>sweet fight between Guts and Mozgus/Guts vs Disciples
>"not everything has to be the same"
>reunion with Casca
Probably my favorite arc was Golden Age. But I'd say overall I really liked everything much more before Guts really had a party. I enjoyed the dynamic of Guts being an asshole and Puck trying to do damage control for him. I also love the crude beginning of Berserk where he's in that dark ass city and he tells some girl to kill herself. What a fucking badass.
Guts looks really weird at this point. I don't like his look.
I get what you mean, but when Guts said that "I never thought I'd have companions again" I just can't help but feel happy for the guy. Things just suddenly seem a bit hopeful.
Besides, we'll still have the old chapters where Guts was an edgy asshole.
He loses that "Shit-eating bastard" look between the first and fourth volume, which I really loved about him.
He's too nice now and I'm not a fan of his unfair armor either.
he seems to look older around vol 27 after he got his armor, which might be Miura's intention
then again, he looks a lot younger in his last appearance
puck has an ethereal body, so i'm not really sure if he can die, but i don't want to read berserk just to see how else guts suffers. makes me feel like i'm no better than all the demons he's been killing
I read it to see Guts fighting the pawa
The first time I saw this bastard I laugh so much.
I mean look at his fucking face.
When i heard that there will be an inquisitors i imagine a creepy thin man or something like that.
He has more square on his face than a Tetris block
Its too for empty words
Only fighting now
>story ends by Guts opening another sacrifice ritual
>nobody knows whats happening in there
>he manages to kill Grifftih and all the members of the God hand
>plot twist is that he sacrificed himself in the ritual
>Guts dies and Casca turns to normal
>Puck is the new protagonist and we follow his everyday adventure
>"sacrifice what is most precious to you and discard your humanity"
>"what is most precious to you, boy?"
>engage berserk demon-cleaving shenanigans
I just realized he was born with that scar on his nose.
Anyways, I like how fucking manly he looks in the later volumes, but less of an edgy adult marked by battles and life, which makes me sad, because this used to be his character.
Can you call this character developement?
he wasn't born with it. he got slashed by gambino during practice. did you burn through the manga?
it's not like he just suddenly lightened up. it was slow, but he trusts people again. although the change could've been more climactic, he had to protect casca at the time
i kind of miss how Puck used to be an integral part. now he's just for humor. it doesn't really seem like he cares anymore and is just in it for fun. i guess more panels with his face actually drawn are gonna be build up for something important involving him emotionally. hopefully he doesn't die
>4 female characters in party, 5 if you count the elf
>miura must be pandering
>shierke and farnese already seem to have developed sufficiently
>isidro is still a bit one-dimensional
>serpico has some potential for interesting change
>oh here's a mermaid for tits
it's been 25 years
>puck has an ethereal body, so i'm not really sure if he can die
He seemed very concerned about his own well being when they were throwing knives at him in the first volume. He has also been shown to feel physical pain on a few occasions when someone holding him squeezed him too hard. Then there is also that flower fairy from Guts' childhood that seemingly died when her flower was picked. I'd say that Puck can definitely be killed.
>Then there is also that flower fairy from Guts' childhood that seemingly died
Guts and Chichhi will reunite at Elfhelm r-right?
That part where Guts put of the fire that was burning him by breaking open an egg and dousing himself in the blood of a demon-fetus.
also the part where he told Jill that there's no paradise for her to escape to, but don't tell anyone about that, they'll think I'm a fag
He'll need every bit of that armor to fight the fucking Godhand.
It's basically Guts vs. The World, so I don't see how it's too unfair, he needs some kind of trump card, especially one that plays into him getting angry.
I think the biggest tonal shift was when every major character just happened to make it through the Tower of Conviction alive
I still enjoy Gut's merry band of lolis and shotas though.
The butterfly/fairy girl arc.
I was so excited to finally see the original Gatsu back again. Still filled with rage and vengeance. And the arc itself was very good. Even that "fairy" girl wannabe was an awesome character.
Same. The Lost Children arc was truly something special. It's a shame Miura seems to have forgotten that chaotic aspect of Berserk over the years.
I enjoyed the justifiably edgy Guts, but his character progress made sense.
The rage and vengeance is still there. Its just pushed down for the sake of Casca and his new friends. The idea of a Guts who can't tell friend from foe is very interesting. I think the ultimate conflict (if it ever gets to that point) will be to weigh this newfound sense of trust against his need for revenge.
Guts is too attractive with that white hair. Plus, he's finally learning that he needs people eho care about him in his life when he acquired the Berserker armor. Shierke & Guts FTW!!
>Another arc will never get animated
Remakes looked like shit anyways, maybe it's for the better
