Honestly the best would be a Tie-Fighter series, maybe Sunrise as an OVA styled high-production value anime. Focuses on a rookie pilot who works his way up during the events of the Civil War from a standard Tie-Fighter to a Tie-Interceptor, ending with his squadron participating at the Battle of Endor.

Actually, it apparently was. Lucas didn't really come up with Grievous completely, just he asked his team to make a new droid general. He let them and Genndy really do whatever for Clone Wars. When it came time for the movie's portrayal off him, he came in with a cough one day and decided to give him that as part of his character.

Basically, a disconnect, at least I think that's how it went. I know the cough thing is true from some interview. Clone Wars TV series had Lucas involved while the miniseries didn't, so that's his idea of Grievous no doubt. Amazing how he even managed to make his back story pitiful compared to the EU.

Shit I'd watch an OVA about Grievous' tenure as a Kaleesh warlord and the sabotage that lead to his rebirth as a cyborg. Shit would be so cash.

And how many people here have played Outlaws? Outlaws is massively underrated too. It was one of the first FPS where the weapons had to be manually reloaded. In multiplayer the players could compete with different characters which all had different stats and different weapons. It had cartoon sequences to tell the story and the music was extraordinary.

Knowing about DOOM doesn't prove that you know your shit, citing DOOM is the equivalent of citing Cowboy Bebop when it comes to anime. Every casual knows about it. It doesn't prove anything.

Disney has shown that it's not above recanonizing parts of the Legends continuity. The Tarkin novel brought back numerous starships, planets, and Armand Isard. Rebels had a Baron fighter pilot wearing 181st bloodstripes. Star Wars Commander, shitty as it is, brought back the TIE Defender, Dark Troopers, the HWK-290, and the YT-2400, among other things.

It might happen given enough time.
