You know, I'm genuinely surprised by how good this movie was. I don't really like Naruto, but this film - despite having a rather silly villain - was kind of moving with the central love story, which was actually done rather well.
I really liked the ending sequence, and the 'Star Vessel' theme - As well as the short clips of their wedding. In many ways, it sort of feels like the end of an era, you know? Where even Naruto, the hapless and rather annoying manchild, has grown up, matured, and settled down with the girl of his dreams.
(I'm also amazed by how attractive Hinata is in the movie. Seriously, the girl aged like wine.)
Has anyone else seen the movie yet?
I'm very sorry, but I watched it in a Japanese theater. The DVD release hasn't come out yet, as far as I know.
I'll admit that while the film is big on cameos (Sasuke has a blink-and-you'd-miss-it appearance) I kind of like how much Naruto has grown. I don't really mean this in a powerlevels sense, but it's oddly satisfying to see him finally getting some respect, and no longer being quite as shrill and annoying as before.
The villain's pseudo-NTR antics are pretty amusing in their own right. (Except for the part where he gets covered in eyes. Shit's retarded.)
I'll admit that my main enjoyment came from the tears of sheer anal pain from the Sakura fans. She does have a support role in the movie, but she's hardly important.
There are some slightly cheesy parts to the film (Like when the scarf starts winding around Naruto) but it's also kind of sweet in places. What I mean is, they managed to 'sell' the romance to me successfully, and I can't help but give them credit for that.
Actually, I'd say Sakura was pretty important for the plot, and the most pain came from NaruSaku fans who refused to acknowledge that Sakura never had feelings for Naruto and was trying to be his wingman.
Sakura is like his female pal or sister. She was there to support him but not to fuck. That's hinata's job.
Not really. He comes close, but ultimately, he decides to stay on the Moon. Frankly, I think he was kind of heartbroken by the events of the movie and sort of gave up after that.
The guy somehow managed to be slightly sympathetic as a character (He was basically the only guy on the moon, with an apocalyptic mission to destroy the world) and a complete asshole at the same time.
I did like that he didn't job, though. That was a proper fight.
>I did like that he didn't job, though. That was a proper fight.
He got hit BY one punch and that somehow deactivated his eyes. It was jobbing considering naruto didn't have kyuubi in him and wasn't even using his 6 sage paths mode.
All he fucking had was fucking rasengan's and clones. Kishi can't ever write naruto as a good fighter.
Yea and his attacks were brutal. That magnetic pull shit, those rapid fire balls, truth seeking balls that protected him from the rasengans, chakra absorption, his mode actually had levitation/flight unlike naruto, the silver and gold wheel shit that tore the moon in half. Got beaten by what? An incomplete kyuubi mode and clones/rasengan?
Isn't Naruto basically ninja Jesus at this point? I mean, he can Rasengan through the planet's inner core without breaking a sweat. At the very least, Hinata's married to the President of the World.
Yes but I hate how naruto can win all his fights with giant rasengans and one punch. It feels like everyone else has to be nerfed or dragged down to induced stupidity levels in order for him to win.
Actually, he WAS in Six Path Sage Mode. The Databook confirms that; he combined Kyuubi Mode with Six Path Sage Mode, and that's why he looked different. Moreover, Naruto literally focused all that chakra into one punch.
That he manifested Kurama alone should tell you he was in Six Path Sage Mode, otherwise... how was he in Kyuubi Mode?
It was a good fight. Naruto doesn't NEED more stuff, he uses what he has great.
Actually, Naruto can still fly too. The point is he was a Ninjutsu user with Eye Powers fighting someone who specialized in fighting Ninjutsu users with Eye Powers, with taijutsu. Naruto has experience, plus power to back it up.
Toneri did not. He was inexperienced with his eyes, and thus relied on spamming high power abilities.
The eye alter simulated the power of a Tenseigan to allow the moon to move and all the puppets and all, because Toneri did not have his Tenseigan eyes.
I watched the camprip. I actually teared up twice during it. The first time was when Naruto was shifting through the memory bubbles and remembering his moments with Hinata. The second was at the wedding. I don't think it was the imagery that got me to tear up, but the combination of it with the OST. The OST in this movie simply goes to well with the scenes in it, and you'll find yourself tearing up before you realize it.
Getting hit by one of the strongest ninjustu attacks tend to do that. If anything, characters surviving it would make a power creep happen even more/faster.
almost, "literally"any fight that didn't involve a tailed host or Sasuke had strategy and numerous techniques employed.
A perfectly good one without shitposting was given a forced bump limit in the morning, without any others up.
>if you do anything remotely pro-naruto, you're a narutard
This is neo-/tv/ levels of delusion, here.
Who cares, it probably deserved it. All you tumblrwhales do is discuss shipping. Don't even try to deny it.
>This is neo-/tv/ levels of delusion, here.
I don't know what that shithole is like beyond Bane memes because I don't browse it.
Your posts say otherwise. Regardless
>getting devastated over someone not liking forced autosage on a normal thread
>using baseless assumptions repeatedly
With the quality of your posts, you're better suited to going to /v/ or /s4s/.
Yea the OST is godlike.
I think it was at least 4, or 5 times for me that I either teared up or cried like a bitch. It's even enough to listen some tracks to make my eyes watery.
I don't think it would be healthy for me to cry daily
am i the only one who found naruto falling for hinata...uncomfortable?
if it wasn't for a genjutsu, they would have stayed single until the end of time, yikes.
it annoys me because even sasusaku trash has gotten something better than this.
i really don't buy naruto falling for hinata so quickly and conveniently. movie was utter garbage.
>it annoys me because even sasusaku trash has gotten something better than this.
>i really don't buy naruto falling for hinata so quickly and conveniently
I think it was implying he always did at least for a while but he was too emotionally dumb to get it
sasuke fell for sakura during Part 1 and 699 confirmed it while all naruto and hinata moments in all manga were platonic on naruto's side and it took a shitty movie for him to pathetically fall for her.
> I think it was implying he always did at least for a while but he was too emotionally dumb to get it
don't be ridiculous
>sasuke fell for sakura during Part 1
I do agree that their relationship was better but I don't think he "fell" for her. I honestly find it hard to believe he loves her right now even with a kid.
Also, the last time Sasuke positively interacted with Sakura before 699 was his thank you before leaving the village and that was like over a decade ago.
The plan was not to get Byakugan. Sure that would be a nice bonus (and I still think Bolt could get a bullshit way to get it anyway but whatever). The plan was to join with a Ninja Jesus and spread the genes.
Besides it's not like the Byakugan is gonna die out or anything
I have watched this movie 3x already and I still love it. I'm going to watch it again when it comes to theaters in the US.
Though, I still think it's impossible for Naruto to have all those fangirls and not one of them try not force themselves upon him. Impossible.
>sasuke fell for sakura during Part 1 and 699 confirmed it while all naruto and hinata moments in all manga were platonic on naruto's side and it took a shitty movie for him to pathetically fall for her.
I just don't agree with this. The only way it would look platonic from Naruto's side if you can not read between the lines and take everything at face value. In fact, that's the entire reason the NaruSaku fandom exists. SasuNarus read too much in between the lines.
Even if you want to claim that it was all platonic from Naruto's side then why would he have went 6 tails just from seeing Hinata get hurt -not die; hurt. People want to say that if it was somebody else he would have done the same thing he would have did the same, but the only other person he did that for was Sasuke. Even then he was able to snap out it.
Personally, I still think that Naruto has severe control/anxiety issues.
It's a dumb shonen thing but Naruto comparing how Hinata loves him to how he loves ramen speaks highly about his feelings towards her considering ramen is one of the few things to bring him joy growing up.
The whole thing just makes Naruto look like either a retard or a shitty person. I know the time skip is just so Kishi can feel more confortable about the lewd stuff but come on.
If he's capable of constantly asking Sakura out on dates even though he only liked her because he wanted to cockblock Sasuke, why can't he realize that the chick that confessed her love for him twice was romantically interested in him.
By all rights and means they should have started dating after Neji's funeral.
Naruto was emotionally stunned. He only liked Sakura for shallows reasons and doesn't get the clue that she not interested in him til the her confession. He didn't know the difference of plantonic love and romantic love. So, he misunderstand his own and Hinata feelings for each other.
Neji was the reason they got closer than ever but, his death shouldn't be the reason they are in a realtionship.
>closer than ever
I'd have less problem with all this shit if it had been shown that they became close friends after the war, paving the way for their eventual relationship.
Instead Hinata still has her chronic shyness and is incapable of speaking two words to Naruto without spilling ramen.
Because Hinata is, well, Hinata. Also, Naruto has had a shitty life so far, and isn't very aware of what romantic affection means.
Not to mention, he's older in the movie - A young man as compared to a kid. All kinds of hormones are kicking in.
>tfw Madoka will never, ever, ever be superior to the superior Ryuki
When was Hinata shy around him? the whole movie she was talking to him normally except the part where her stomach growl.Naruto even invited her over to his house. He never ask anyone that.Naruto was the one spilling and smoothing the whole movie.
>Though, I still think it's impossible for Naruto to have all those fangirls and not one of them try not force themselves upon him. Impossible.
He's a fucking ninja, the candidate for the Hokage, and Ninja Jesus. You think he can't deal with some crazy bitches?
>why would he have went 6 tails just from seeing Hinata get hurt -not die; hurt
It was a combination of many things, Jiraiya and Kakashi dying, the village getting nuked, the incredibly strong opponent shit-talking him and telling him that Jiraiya's dream was a bunch of bullshit and how powerless he felt to stop him.
Hinata getting hurt because of him was the last straw but it is not like in that moment he considered her more important to him than Jiraiya, Iruka or Sasuke nor that he was in love with her. He eventually did though.
So now Jesus gets strong kids that nobody is going to associate with the Hyuuga, and the leadership of the clan is to going to be left to fodder Hyuuga because the strongest remaining one became Jesus's housewife.
Nice going, Hiashi.
Didn't Boruto wear a Jacket with a Hyuuga symbol on it and who wouldn't know about who both of his parents are since they one is the savior of the world and the other is eldest daughter of the most respected clan in their village.
>most respected clan in their village.
Whichever that clan that is, I really doubt is the clan of inbred assholes that enslaved half their kin.
And which symbol is this even supposed to be?
Apparently this is their actual symbol. It doesn't even matter anyway Bolt is a confirmed Uzumaki.
Some highres stuff from the artbook:
No, I don't want to be a homewrecker.
As he should. Minato was a handsome motherfucker.
Because it screws up the characters' relationship in-universe. A writer can't go deciding things like this without considering all the ramifications it creates just because he feels embarrassed.
But this is Kishi. I don't know what I was hoping.
The only actual, I mean, real ramification that I could even consider realistically would be this assumption that "Hinata and Naruto never talked to each other after Neji's funeral". Which I guess is stupidly possible but I don't really see it.
How? Naruto still consider Hinata close to him and they were still good freinds.Sakura and Hinata are now friends and Sakura is still in good terms with both and being supportive to the both of them. The time skip is dumb but, you are making it too much of a big deal it really is.
I honestly like this cover despite Coolest Guy's proportions being kinda fucked up in it
Hinata almost sacrificed herself for the war and Naruto invited her to eat ramen with them. Also, he heard her call for him when everyone was wrapped up for that Infinite shit...
What more do you want from Kishimoto? If anything, Kishimoto is at fault for not making Naruto 17 during the Pain arc and 18 during the war.
Imagine this. There is a girl who confesses to you, puts her life on the line and finally decides that she wants to be with you, or try to at least. Now, can you really believe that Hinata wouldn’t make a move in those two years? Or Naruto not taking the hint even though he is not the brightest bulb around?
See, the problem here is that in those years absolutely nothing happens. If, I don’t know, we have a little montage of what happened between all the characters we could have a grasp of how they developed, instead of the feeling of some viewers that Naruto’s feeling kinda came out of nowhere after so much time on the dark.
This is not true. Kishi could have made it any other character, but he didn't. He chose Hinata for a good reason. If it could have been anyone he would have had Sakura be the one, but he didn't.
Why people still deny this I will never know. What would have been the point of choosing a background character for this role if it wasn't meant to mean anything significant? What's even crazier is that she survived before Pain resurrected everyone.
A lot of people really over think this. The fact of the matter is that Naruto didn't respond to Hinata's confession because Kishi simply doesn't like writing romance. He still used it as a bonding moment though. The movie was in the works 2 years before the manga ended, so the pairing wasn't some random ass pull at the last minute. He just gave the job of the romance between Naruto and Hinata to someone else.
> instead of the feeling of some viewers that Naruto’s feeling kinda came out of nowhere after so much time on the dark.
These kind of viewers must be children or NaruSakus.
That being said, I understand what you are saying. It would have been best to give some kind of mention what they had been up to that would explain WHY they never got together in two years. Yet
