Since Netflix is producing content for UK and France,

Are you also ready for Netflix to produce S3 of Haruhi Suzumiya?

>To facilitate close partnerships with consumer electronics makers and to work with Japanese film and TV creators, Netflix will soon open a regional office in Tokyo. Gregory K. Peters, chief streaming and partnerships officer at Netflix since 2013, has been promoted to general manager of Netflix Japan. A Japanese speaker, Peters holds a degree in physics and astronomy from Yale University. He joined Netflix in 2008.

RIP Crunchyroll.

If they actually financially back an anime it'll be for a Western audience, and you know what every animu Japan has made for a western audience instead of their own ends up being like.
>>
>>120859500

Considering that kids start using cell phones after 12 in Japan,

More likely Netflix will produce a lot of shounen.
>>
I wish they will pander more to Italian and the French fans. All anime that has been made to pander to the american fans are trash like space dandy.
>>
>Community anime
Calling it now
>>
>>120859581
Fuck off, Eurotrash
>>
>>120859490
Cruchyroll already has an agreement with Netflix to stream their shows.

Hyouka and Nichijou S2 please, Netflix.
>>
Sidonia is already branded Netflix Original by them though?

I want to fuck a miko.
>>
Netflix: saving fansubbing
>>
It's going to bomb. If you want your western brand to succeed in Japan, you gotta go full 7/11 on that shit. You can't just bring over what you've already got and expect people to care.
>>
>Netflix money
oh boy, here come the masterpieces.

If you know what you're talking about, this is a great thing.
>>
Get ready for more Ninja Slayer.
>>
>>120859449

It better be for fucking normalfags, I swear to God. Better get a good director and studio, too.
>>
So "Orange is the new black" anime when?

Cute girls doing cute girls in prison? Sounds like a masterpiece.
>>

Netflix is terrible at streaming, shows are only put up after they have finished airing on TV in Japan.
>>
>>120860817

Netflix Japan will be ASAP though.
>>
>>120859449
>Since Netflix is producing content for UK and France,

They failed miserably in France, though. Like, really, really miserably.
>>
>>120860817
That isnt terrible. That's for binge watching. It gets onto Netflix when they aquire the rights and the first day they are on DVD. If you want to watch week to week legally, Hulu, but even as a paying customer, you get ADs and the quality is said to be shit. I would much rather Netflix making anime than hulu.
>>
>>120861592

That's why they're producing a show called "Marseille" and some other cop show.

They're also producing stuff with Gad Elmaleh and Jamel Debbouze. I think Netflix will succeed more in France than Germany.
>>
>tfw you realize that Crunchyroll are actually the good guys
>>
>>120859449
the release says nothing about producing local shows
>>
>>120861596
You do know Netflix already have the rights for The seven deadly sins/Nanatsu no Taizai and they had the rights for Knights of Sidonia/Sidonia no Kishi before it started airing in Japan. Hulu have neither of those shows and who the fuck uses Hulu for Simulcast?
>>
>>120861578
Source?
>>
>>120861638
Are those shows available in other regions with subs?
>>
>>120859581
Well, there's going to be Lupin III in Italy, but you're right - more European pandering would greatly benefit the anime industry.
Oh, and Space Dandy was good.

So, the question we've all been thinking.

Where does Satan fit in all this?
>>
>>120859581
Especially when France had such a big past with anime.
Present even, I think in terms of sales of manga/anime it's second or something.
>>
>>120861638
>Marseille

o yea, the most hated French city after Paris, this will seel so much.
The only selling name there is Gad Elmaleh, and he's already has been as shit.
French TV is already over saturated in free popular content.Netflix has no way to attract people with paying shit.

Too bad that content is shit.
>>
>>120861955
Those are special cases with all their other series its been waiting to aquiring the rights then putting it on. They were all older series. I heard they are going to be expanding their anime section or some something.
>Hulu
People use it. For Community? A lot of normalfags got Hulu/kept their Hulu accounts for when Sailor Moon Crystal was announced to be streamed on Hulu. I'm pretty sure they like it and its ugly garring CGI glory.
>>
>>120859449
I hope Netflix fails terribly, Japanese television is so enjoyable and full of crazy things it would be sad to see it go
>>
>>120862056
Never knew Daiz was a finfag, I guess that explains a lot of things.
>>
>>120862189
>Those are special cases with all their other series its been waiting to aquiring the rights then putting it on.

All other shows had already been licensed by another company first (Aniplex, FUNimation, Sentai etc). These "special cases" are Netflix original licensing and subbing/dubbing none of the other anime they have are.
>>
>>120862056
Daiz was mad at CR for not giving him a job and switching to hi10p. He sought retribution, and contacted all streaming sites he knew of. He got hired by Netflix, infiltrated them, and is now starting to put his evil plans into reality.

>>
>>120862294
I know that they were licensed by other companies and that the "special cases" is Netflix getting it on their own. I want them to renew the license for Baccano, only Funi series worth being kept on there. Good dub and gives casuals some taste.
>>
>>120859581

That'd be hilarious.

Nips don't have good naming sense for foreign character.
>Gonniji'wa wad'ashi wa Babatunde Serengeti dessu

As long as the anime mocks people's race then i'm fine with it.
>>
>>120861578
I doubt it. They aren't ASAP with US or British TV shows. They don't stream until about year after the season is over.
>>
How do the Nips respond to Americans financing their cartoons?

I recall 2ch being upset that the west use kickstarter to fun LWA2, a show which they though was generic and boring anyways.

Korra was a world wide flop. Murikan logic destroys what make anime
entertaining.

I don't see the problem with this

I rarely watch anime anymore due to everything being repetitive and cliche as hell. Looking forward to what Netflix can bring.

Kill la Kill is an Aniplex title and it's still available on CR.

The director clearly mentioned that he had to hold a lot of things because the project was more about training the young people than focusing more on creating a good show.

This is good. If Netflix is backing it financially, it means they don't have to be so dependent on the usual crap with the recycled archetypes to pander to people that obsessively buy BDs and merchandise, and we might get something really cool.

Plus it'll all come out as one bingeable season, which is always nice.

I wonder how equipped HS is to rip Netflix.

Kill la Kill is on Netflix, but it's sub only.
>>
Did you know that anime studios HAVE TO PAY the TV stations in japan just to have a late-nite timeslot.

I wonder if Netflix will do away with that arrangement.

Imagine a newly created anime with freed up budget for more marketting and animation quality so they don't have to pay expensive fees to japanese TV stations just to have a dead slot from 00:00 to 03:00,
