The Megadeuce.
>>
It probably would have been important in the third season but we'll never know.
>>
>>120834432
Sometimes, when I take a big dump, a real megadeuce, I shout "BIG O, SHOWTIME!!!!!"
>>
I think 'What was the point' was the point.
>>
Dunno. I kind of liked the mysterious open ending of season 1. It reminded me of the ending to the second Tenchi OVA series. It gave a hint of what was to come, but ended in such a way that you could walk away satisfied regardless.
>>
>>120834291
Season 1 did well in the west, and they wanted more money.
>>
>>120834291
Because Konaka really liked tomatoes, The Truman Show and steampunk

Can you blame him?
>>
The ending was 2deep4u, I hate it when shows try to do that that and just end up pissing on their own balls.
>>
>>120834831
I liked the episodic nature of season 1 with hints of a plot while I liked the more episodic episodes of season 2, I didn't care when the main plot kicked in near the end
>>
>>120834291
First season sold a ton of dvd's I think

Lot of Big O threads lately.

I like it.
>>
If I remember correctly there was supposed to be season 3 but it got canned.
>>
>>120835934
If The Big O's ending was really too deep for you, the problem is probably with you, not the show.
>>
>>120834291
It was because the guy writter for serial experiments lain took over full writing for the big o and pulled the same sort of nosenseical shit he did with lain. Big O is still one of my favourites I just like to to forget about a number of episodes from the second season.

Awful ending.
>>
>>120834291
They left a lot of plot points unresolved so people complained.

So we got a 2nd season, and the plot points were somewhat resolved with some kind of nonsensical meta shit.

I just wanted dorothy and rodger kissu ending ;_;
>>
Because without season 2 we wouldn't have gotten this exchange:

Beck: "The whole cast assembled! Is your 'oh so precious' Dorothy, Roger's lover?" [laughter]

Roger: "That's preposterous!"

Dorothy: "Why Roger? You are so cruel. Why is it preposterous?"

Roger: "Dorothy, knock it off! Don't you understand the situation we're in?"

Dorothy: "I understand. A villain has captured the man that I work. The man that I love."
>>
>>120841438
dorothy's emotionless delivery makes is amazing

>Was the second season of Big O even necessary?
Well Season 1 left on a very definite cliffhanger that would have made a much less complete-feeling ending than what we got. And more Dorothy is always necessary.

>What was the point?
To be entertaining.
>>
>>120840112
They already changed the last sequence of the show.
>>
>>120840112
They made it knowing that there might be a 3rd season, but there also might not be. The ending is supposed to function as either a series or season finale. The very ending sequence that repeated the first episode was the one thing that would have been different.

does she have an entry port between her legs?
>>

Best to ask her. I get the feeling looknig without permission would result in a very painful demise.
>>
>>120843298
Well seeing as she was created by an elderly man as a replacement for his deceased granddaughter who's company he missed yes.

>Series was originally supposed to be 13 episodes

This. Roger was a negotiator, he negotiated with Angel to not reset their memories at the end of the simulation, hence "we have come to terms". Angel kept resetting it to achieve an outcome where she was with Roger, but eventually she accepted that Roger was supposed to be with dorothy, which is why dorothy ended up human. There were many other flaws to point out but the ending wasn't that hard to understand.
>>
>>120844923
I just don't get Roger The Wanderer
He snapped off from the "simulation" for a while because he was terrified then Angel went to get him back?
>>
>>120845071
That's what I thought, but that's where the flaws (potentially) of the series begin. While the ending was somewhat concrete in the context of the show, there were a lot of things like that which were basically just written away by "ANGEL AND SIMULATION STUFF". I know people who like the fact that a lot was left up to interpretation, but that always bothers me with storytelling in any medium.
