I'm dumping this. This is Viz's official translation. I haven't set up a proper way to rip chapters yet but an anon's helped me out and I'll be doing so in the future. I love this series and would hate to see it completely fade into obscurity. The anime certainly doesn't help its standing!
This series has a sniper loli that fire like a cannon. That's awesome.
Not lamer than Osamu camping the whole second half!
Well, at least she got taken out by the goddamn badass captain.
Osamu is so anti-smug everyone else must be smug as Hell to balance it out.
The cold loli is nothing if not polite.
Also, this page got a guffaw out of me.
Damn, they're really getting close now.
Aw shucks. I'm only doing this since I think nobody else is! I hope I don't make any scanlators angry. While I do support buying a subscription to viz jump, I'm fully aware that there are MANY ways to support series. I pirate every chapter of, say, Boku Girl, but I also import every new volume. Being a fan isn't about supporting the official thing all the time!
Change manga_id to the id that you're after and make sure device_id=1 and it will just give you a straight zip file.
Just out of curiosity. How does shonenjump.viz.com work? Can you only pay for complete volumes or buy WSJ itself? For instance you can't just pay for one series and get it chapter by chapter?
Not really. You still have to have paid for it. Except WSJ is free for these few weeks. It's for their iOS app, they could've put the effort into encrypting it, but well hey, someone such as myself probably would've broken it anyways.
Depends on the series. In general you can't purchase per series. You subscribe for some set period and you get all the issues within that time. Otherwise you pay per week issue for any past ones.
Anon, anon. You underestimate how much content there is freely on the internet, accidental or otherwise. You just have to know how to find it. It's pretty easy for this case, just watch some of the network traffic in the browser and twiddle randomly with the URL.
So, basically, if I were to pickup a manga in WSJ i'll need to remember the issue that chapter came out in? Viz doesn't offer some way for me to know that chapter 89 for World Trigger came out on X date?
Not him, that seems useful. I think all Viz is trying to play at is to get you to buy all of them, or have been eternally locked into a subscription. Surely they could discount back issues further as they get older.
Yeah, basically. I couldn't find a way to see the Table of Contents for each issue, but I lucked out finding this part of comic vine by googling the description of one of Viz's issues.
Thanks. For shits and giggles I looked at their free WSJ available. And holy shit, If I had to browse manga that way I would shoot myself. No table of contents.
If I was even 2% interested in paying for manga. It wouldn't be using viz. If they remade bato.to with a pay wall then we could have a conversation.
And theoretically, if I wanted to read all of Naruto i'm not paying $500.
I don't know what I expected from Viz media.
>If I had to browse manga that way I would shoot myself. No table of contents.
The ToC is usually on the second page instead of the first. Still, I've seen better readers. The fact that all the images are basically 1000 pixels tall at BEST means they're squishing all their images down, which is lame. Definitely will be looking into .zip files/ripping instead of reading from the site now that I know about both.
I went all the way to 20. It doesn't look like implemented something allegedly for android. They're all basically repeats, for god knows why. They also didn't seem to be module 3 or some shit simple like that.
What I always found interesting was device_id=3 with loadermax which loads a page or two at a time. It can get at the images without auth unless you pass their supposed page limit. I wager there is probably some way of bypassing that, but it's too much of a blackbox to ever figure it out.
The Viz guys have clearly been in the business longer. People new to translating manga always fuck up spreads. Crunchyroll fucks em up too, or did last I checked. Terrible typesetting and some random errors like red lines on the pages, also.
>You just have to know how to find it.
That's what I want to know. Like with ublock, I see one of the object being https://shonenjump.viz.com/manga/get_manga_url?device%5Fid=3&manga%5Fid=3205&loadermax=1&page=2
But how does that lead to putting loadermax to the front and \magic/
Their website layout is still pants on head retarded.
Heres how to make money
>put vizto.to behind paywall
Even if I was tempted to pay, their retarded website is an immediate no.
Agreed. I wouldn't even be a subscriber if I didn't see a better, faster way to get new chapters. I can be legit, but when it comes to following a manga as it releases that becomes a real hassle. I mean, like, fuck it; most people in Japan probably just read issues of magazines in convenience stores and don't bother buying them.
It actually looks like they get a completely different source. i.e. Viz keeps the redraws to themselves. CR spreads depend completely on the series. And their quality in general.
The order of the parameters are irrelevant. URL are in the form of:
Basically you're sending little bits of data to their server and they'll use that to give you back certain data. Changing the parameter values can do something, removing them as well, but if you're truly magical you can figure out new ones or reuse ones from other places and bypass all kinds of security shit. *cough* Comixology *cough*
If this doesn't seem to work for you (as it doesn't for me, I'm an idiot) you can also use this to just rip the images
Though you've gotta click through the magazine to get everything.
