Have you literally cried when you said you cried while watching an anima or is it just a saying, like you got feels but didn't really cry? I often read people's comments and they say they cried but i never cried to an anime. I fear that I might have some sort of brain/nerve damage
>>
Yes there were real tears. Hasn't happened in a while.

I've teared up quite a bit before, so its not that much of a stretch to imagine someone might full-on cry. I've never said I cried though, but that's just because I feel people will think less of me.

I never really cried cried, but there were a few times I teared up, like when watching Forrest Gump. Shame /pol/ made me so cynical, I miss the days I could be melted from watching courage the cowardly dog
>>
I wept like a bitch when watching After Story episode 18. I had to pause the episode at few points to go wipe the snot from my face.

I also cried at the final episode of AnoHana.
>>
>dfw only able to feel anger and stress since I got circumcised

I cried during Ano Hana, and I cried a fuckton at K-On graduation. I'm not even sure why, it's not very sad but I actually cried for 30 straight minutes.

I tear up at almost anything emotional. I guess I'm just a bitch though.

This, K-On fucking destroyed me.

Also cried bitch tears during Ef: Tale of Memories and 2 of the F/SN endings.

Other than that I don't think I've cried at anything, teared plenty of times, but not openly cried.
>>
>>120701652
During my earlier anime watching years I did cry up, which was when I was about 12 or 13.

Nowadays I'm just sitting there and smiling because seeing character suffering is so much fun.

I feel like I'm becoming a sadist.
>>
I suppose people lie about that, though it strikes me as kind of pointless to.
I've cried from a few choice moments on various series; theres no rhyme or reason to it, it just starts happening and you let it happen.

In a way, there's something liberating about being a grown-ass man who can cry to cartoons
>>
I've gotten runny nosed and teary eyed, that's enough for me to consider it crying.
>>

Yes.
>>
I cried like a bitch when I read Planetarian. I also teared up a bit when I read Little Busters and during some other anime like Clannad but mostly the last time I really cried was when I read Planetarian a couple years ago.
>>
could it be that the more of a psychopath you are the less likely you are to cry from anime? my dad and mother are pretty much autistic psychopaths too, i think i inherited it from them.

>>120702903
>In a way, there's something liberating about being a grown-ass man who can cry to cartoons
yeah, it sucks if you barely feel shit all the time.
>>
Sad music is my fucking weakness, I always get teary eyes when some super sad tune plays, regardless of the actual scene. Playing VNs is pure torture.
>>
>>120701652
I haven't actually cried, but I've gotten extremely close, to the point that my eyes would water.
>>
>>120703136
I can just hear a sad song with no context and get teary eyes. And if it's something I recognize, it's over.
>>
>>120703136
do you also get very excited when exciting/happy tunes play? or do sad tunes have way more significant impact?
>>
>>120701652
I have this thing where I tear up a bit out of happiness when I'm either really enjoying something or when something is just really good. It doesn't happen that often, but I love when it does. I also tear up during sad moments or moments that are sad to me because reasons. I only full on cried a few times; Angel Beats! when it came out I hadn't seen much anime so it was babby's first sad ending, Clannad After Story, Ano Hana, Gintama, Legend of the Galactic Heroes (Yang and Reuental), Slam Dunk, AIDS girl in SAO2
>>
>>120702903
>In a way, there's something liberating about being a grown-ass man who can cry to cartoons

Crying is good, knowing something can still move your heart when the life becomes the same routine of mild feelings everyday, is good, we usually cry at fictional media because of heartwarming and relatable moments, the whole ">crying at cartoons" some people try to pass is retarded.
>>

I'm just an emotional boy who loves chinese cartoons.
>>
>>120701652
If you mean cried as in bawling and shit no. But crying in the sense that tears just won't stop flowing yes a lot of times.

I dunno I guess I'm just too emotional, I don't think normal people tear up as much as I do.

Overflowing tears kept on spilling so hard I actually had to pause what I was watching to recompose myself:
Steins;Gate (specially OVA and Movie)
SAO Mother's Rosario (aids-chan's last moments)
Tiger & Bunny
Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi (time and again, but specially hard when Ai spends her first and only day with Humpnie as her father, before having to bury him. Just as you meet your father, you must end his life for good. ;_;)

Tears streamed down but I could keep on going:
Code Geass (shirley's death)
Toradora
Date A Live (S1 Ep3, aka when shido gets killed right after Tohka takes to heart his saying "it's okay for her to stay in this workd" and she goes full vengeance. The feeling of having something taken away just when you finally got it and letting yourself be lost in rage really touched me hard)

Got sad as fuck but no actual tears:
Brynhildr
Buddy Complex (Ano Sora specials ending)
Gen'ei wo Kakeru Taiyou (ginka's death)
Rinne no Lagrange (villagiulio hurts muginami)
White Album 2

Never audibly cried as in voice coming out, though. Also, the list is bigger for Visual Novels.

I would need a proper definition of crying to know that. Texhnolyze ending and some moments in Kaiba made me shed a tear or two but that's about it, I'm not the emotional type.
Besides, proper buildup is needed in those kind of scenes, like in aforementioned Kaiba, where variations of one theme are played throughout the show, only for the full version to kick in later on. Most shows just put a slow piano in the background and expect you to burst with tears, because surely you are attached to every single character in the show, right?
Also, trees.

On the rare occasion that I claim to have cried watching anime, it's because I really cried. Or rather just teared up a lot, I haven't outright cried (with sniffling and sobbing and stuff) in about 10 years.
However it's pretty rare for that to happen. When it does I tend to relish the feeling, since I usually find myself unable to get that emotional about anything.
I think I've been that way ever since a friend killed himself when I was 17. That, combined with some other shit, gradually made me very dull to emotion. I actually lament that fact deeply since I feel I'm missing out on the full spectrum of life, which is one of the many reasons I hate edgy faggots that think being emotionless is somehow cool.
Sorry for blogging.

I came to the conclusion that if this wouldn't do it, nothing would. It's the absolute closest I've come in recent years, and I think it may be the closest I'll come for a long while.

Crying feels good, anon. It's wonderful watching a show that manages to strike you enough emotionally that tears come out.

I did NOT expect to feel shit during that episode.

In about 7 years of watching anime, the only moments to ever make me cry were the end of Diebuster, and the most recent episode of Death Parade.
>>
>>120707641
Not him, I didn't cry during her route, but the "date date" bad end is pretty sad.
>>
Crying like tear droping, only thing that come to my mind right now is Saikano and Brook flashback on One Piece, I had to run to the bathroom and cry there since I hate to cry in front of peopleI really hate when someone cry in front of someone else IRL

Sad moments that make me feel that in my chest? Many, I won't list them here, too much effort.

Ep 26 of Higurashi made me cry.

quite recently with the ending Ten! I guess the subject matter hit too close to home
>>
>>120703293
Same here I cry all the time, even during parts that aren't sad.

Stuff that is actually is sad tears me apart, I had tears streaming down my face multiple times when watching The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. That's might have been because of some personal stuff though.
>>
>>120707403
Yeah, did not expect him to survive.
>>
tons of Doremi episodes made me cry for real. A few moments in Precure series. A few moments in idol animes. That one episode of Kodomo no Jikan. The last episode of lots of long-running series. It's good to cry. Makes the sad come out.

Apparently the author himself wasn't even expecting it, he didn't know if he wanted to have him live or not up until the chapter he's off the mountain.

I've cried to a few japanimations but the one with the biggest emotional impact on me was PunPun, it didn't make me cry but it made feel empty and extremely depressed for a few weeks.

PunPun doesn't make people sad, it makes them depressed.
Amazing writing when you think about the amount of emotion you feel when reading it.
>>
>>120701652
I'm 30 and relatively masculine and I've cried like a bitch more than once. Maybe not bawling but enough that my nose got stuffed up and shit.

I tear up more often. The sad shit that happens to little grills (and grills that are actualy foxes, etc)... Fucking japs push my buttons.

Its mostly just that I tear up, it can be both out of happiness and sadness. Only very rarely have I actually cried all out but it has happened.
>>
>>120708878
>feeling
>noun
Don't go around correcting grammar dude, feeling is the present perfect (be+ing) form of the verb "To feel"
Feels is also used in a peculiar sense here.
>Grammar nazi failed
>inb4 "it was merely a ruse"
Also I often cry when friends part from eachother indefinitely like in >>120707362 or at the end of PunPun.
>>
I cried with the ending if aria, kaleido star finale and natsumr yuujincho.

Most of the time when people say they're crying, they probably didn't seriously cry. Maybe shed a tear or on the verge of shedding a tear, but I think what they really mean is they found a moment really sad or emotional.

>Must have gotten married pretty young, huh?
No ? He said she was his wife at the present, but then he was only 16. It's very possible that he didn't marry her until years later.
"That was the first time I hugged my wife" doesn't mean he already married her at the time.
I want to believe in every beautiful story ever told here, is that too much to ask ?
