Why do younger siblings always wake up the older ones?

Not joking, this was my case. Due to hour zone difference, Saturday morning cartoons aired from 5:00 am onwards and I always woke up to watch those, then I went onto waking up my parents or older siblings in hopes on getting pancakes for breakfast.

I did this too, up until the age of ~10 or so, but I wouldn't bother waking anyone up. I just watched my cartoons and got myself some cereal or whatever. I wouldn't want to wake anyone else up anyway, since they would then change the channel and I wouldn't be able to watch what I want.

As for waking up older siblings; 10 years later and whenever I'm home (e.g. winter holidays), my younger sister will STILL FUCKING DO THIS. She's 17 for fuck's sake. Plus she'll still grab onto my chair and try to use my laptop, and I either have to pull the chair away or fucking pry her from it to get her to stop.
I swear she has the mentality of a twelve year old.

So yeah, I consider this a trope with a good basis in reality.

Little kids are made of energy and the capacity to be annoying. If you are a teen or older and you have a pre-pubescent young sibling, chances are they are going to 1) be awake before you, especially on weekends 2) want to spend time with you 3) make those two things happen at the same time.

Real younger siblings wake you up pretty frequently. My first interaction with my younger sister-in-laws was being woken up by one of them flying knees first into my stomach while the other one laughed from across the room.

This. my onee-sama was cold. And then because of that I became cold. In the end I don't think neither of us wanted to be so cold, but we ended being like that till the end.
