That's not an insult either. Trigger's series capture an energy that sustains the audience. It's "a ride" and they know how to take the audience for one.

Was an adaptation to make money, you should have known long before watching it that it was just some shit they were doing to make ends meet.

Their next project about the Ninja is also an adaptation but looks way more their style. Still, I am waiting and hoping that they can get another original show funded.

Honestly, for a young studio, I think they are doing a good job of establishing their own "brand" of anime styling, in a similar vein to say SHAFT or KyoAni. I, personally, don't think they'll ever get as big as those two, but they will probably settle into a fairly popular niche with a common following for several years.

Original anime require funding, as their is no manga/LN publisher to fund the anime as an advertisement for the original source material. To fund it themselves they would need to have actually made money to begin with. To make Kill la Kill they had to beg for money and pitch it to Kadokawa I think. LWA was made with the anime mirai funding.

Originals are expensive and Trigger are poor.
