Can we have a OPM thread? When is the rest of Chapter 99 going to be released? How will Tatsumaki get rekt by Saitama?
some friendly anon recommended it to me earlier, been through a couple so far and it seems pretty gud.
When is someone going to give us better scans of the tanko extras? I'm starting to lose track of all the extra shit floating around.
Good job on re-draw of the black sperm, but I hope when the time comes he'll be more expressionless like ONE's version.
Would Engine Knight be the one who destroyed Genos' town?
We finally get to see the conclusion to that cut fight scene where Boros spikes Saitama with part of the ship.
I actually recently re-read OPM Murata's version and noticed like atleast 3-4 specials I somehow missed when it came out monthly(ish)
Exactly how much extra shit is untranslated here?
Pretty much anything in print; the only extras that got translated were the ones released on websites like the JUMP specials.
I'm pretty sure we're missing anything Murata did for Comiket in addition to the bonuses in the volumes, like this one explaining why Metal Bat and Sweet Mask didn't come to blows after focus shifted to Saitama exiting the ship.
>When is the rest of Chapter 99 going to be released?
Wonder about that to, it is like 2 weeks since it got uploaded.
>How will Tatsumaki get rekt by Saitama?
Probably their won't even be a fight, something will happen that prevents it.
>and can't get back fast enough
Saitama jumped from the surface of the moon to the earth's surface in about a second without even really trying. There is nowhere he cannot get to as quickly as he needs to.
Also I am guessing All of Metal Bat's physical training was at some batting center..
Imagine him hitting faster and faster balls.. then multiple balls..
Then getting a machine built to throw balls at the speed of sound
The reflexes and speed required would push his body to the limits
When all you have is a bat.. all problems become balls, or something
>and I'm glad ONE confirmed that he's strong.
When did that happen ? Are you referring to that ?
Is there an S Class more underwhelming than Lightspeed Flash? Even Enginight is more interesting than him. Atomic Samurai can already cut things in a flash and all Lightspeed did was break his sword.
I find super-regeneration to be very dull and he is easily the weakest if you don't take his regeneration into account (hence why he uses guns). In fact all we ever actually see him do on frame is get owned then regenerate until his opponent suddenly dies of plot reasons (I mean technically he did beat that vampire guy but that was off frame and I get the sense that they both just wailed on each other until the vampire's resilience failed).
It won't be more than a few episodes long. Remember that it's generally a short story aside from the odd part.
Still waiting for Metal Bat to do something. He is the only member of the group who hasn't done shit yet.
He has to be strong. He is an S class. King is only there because of Saitama's feats but Metal Bat is still capable of wiping out Demon and possibly dragon level threats. We know Bang and Atomic Samurai are.
According to ONE's answers here in this image
Metal Bat can take on Dragon level threats. So we can assume that everyone above him is capable of fighting Dragon level threats, at least in some capacity (such as Zombieman against Homeless Emperor; the ones beyond his ability to kill would probably be those beyond his means of damaging, so he probably specializes in fighting "human" monsters with psychic abilities or who rely on machinery).
Consider how S class was established in the first place, anon. It was explained during the Monster Association arc. While having a higher rank does mean a hero is proactive in their work (like Licenseless Rider), S class was established because of some heroes' ability to take on monsters pass a certain threat level. Zombieman was capable of taking down a Demon level threat on his own (the vampire) and Pri-Pri-Prisoner could fight toe-to-toe with one (Mezalgald; I'm assuming Boros' top three combatants were all Demon level at most since Mezalgald couldn't even hurt Bang after getting a direct hit on him). Using those two as the bottom line and considering the fact many of the heroes above Metal Bat are either martial arts oriented or have a lot of power in whatever form (technology or esper abilities), they're all probably capable of taking down a Dragon level threat.
Yes, I'm even including Child Emperor (since if Zombieman can under certain conditions, Child Emperor probably can too).
Well the info from One was kinda nice.
I hope this means Metal Bat would have wrecked Sweet Masks shit.
So we know that the following can handle dragon class.
Bang (serious mode)
Any other confirmed ones I am missing?
There's that at least. Looking forward to this next arc.
Mob has already shown that he can grasp how to use the specific applications of psychic ability others have (plant control), so with the members of the previous defeated Claw group members banding together with him, I'm wondering if a situation will come up where he'll have to copy them.
It is a good question. I mean, is the bat super-durable or are there multiple bats in case one breaks? Is it a completely regular bat that doesn't break because Metal Bat's burning delinquent spirit is channeled into it?
No. This is from a sidechapter featuring some random B-class hero. He ends up quitting the group after meeting Saitama and restarts his career to become a solo hero.
This panel is them preparing to fight against some Habanero guy (throws molotovs around).
Ok Time for Best current Monster
I choose you
Personification Of A Light Pull Cord is a Mysterious Being which was formed when a person shadow boxed with the ceiling light pull cord of his room so much that he transformed.
Do you really want to see Murata write a story for porn? The man can barely even write a normal story so a pornographic one would be downright impossible.
On the offhand. him drawing porn would be destructive. Can you imagine 20 pages of intense thrusting in DETAILS? There'll be worldwide news about people's dicks exploding from unknown cause.
My dick jumped and slammed under my desk the moment I click that picture. It hurts like hell right now.
eh ive been found
anyway, OPM has been on my watchlist ever since a friend introduced it to me last year, sad that work/field work has been occupying me for the last few years and its hindering my doodles.
can't wait for Murata's version of serious sidehops and Speed of Sound Sonic's (lol) whattheactualfuckface
murata has a tendency to miss small details(probably due to doing allnighters on the day before the deadline)
the scar has been missing during kings introduction arc like on every third page or so
>We never got to see Sunred at maximum power
>Season 3 never
Been listening to this and the full song on repeat.
I'm totally putting this on my running list. It's fucking addictive and pumps you up.
>Fem-Rider and Saitama
THANK YOU BASED DRAWFAG.
>Can't decide which is better between small chested or titty monster Fem-Rider.
Someone should make a strawpoll.
eh, can't nico without logging in
can't decide what hair to use actually
chest guard i guess, merely imitated male version chest guard/armor.
Also, tfw Saitama can't have a decent lunch break
>too tired now, must sleep
So I just caught up with both versions of the series and I understand Murata's releases come out relatively quickly. How frequently do ONE's releases come out?
As much as I love Murata's art I'd rather see progression of the story.
That reminds me of Vegeta vs Saitama. Too bad I didn't save any during the dump and it's hard to find it now.
If anybody's got more of the cover scans, please share the wealth.
Actually Murata has had a lot of delays recently and his chapters also feel like they are getting shorter, not forgetting he stretches his progress by adding side chapters.
On that note I liked the one with the police.
It's like she's not wearing anything.
The chapters are 'shorter', but that's because he's not re-updating the same chapter and making it longer like what ONE does. He's just been making 'complete' chapters recently, even if they're not as long as the older chapters.
We got a peek at the kind of underwear she wears in the bonus chapter this panel is from
A bit of her bra, anyway. You could guess the kind of underwear she wears, I guess.
>We got a peek at the kind of underwear she wears in the bonus chapter this panel is from
Wasn't that Tatsumaki?
I think we got a view on Tatsumaki's undergarments some time ago, more like a peek than an actual view.
Not King though. King don't give no shit
I like this artist's concepts, it's just too bad he draws a B+ Saitama
>Sonic got dickpunched so hard he still gets aftershocks just reading about it.
Just a reminder that Murata redrew the moon landing at least 3 times.
The man loves his job.
>We can't all be videogame playing massive pussies
Come on Anon. Where's your fighting spirit ?
Did he bluff though ? Didn't the people do the bluffing for him as he sat there quietly, thinking what game to buy next ?
watchdog man will become saitama's pet
Say, if in an anime does get announced, who would you guys want to voice act Saitama ? Personally, I think Tomokazu Sugita would be kinda cool. I feel like Saitama kinda blends in with Gintoki a little bit and this guy does an awesome job.
Then again, I don't watch a lot of anime and don't know a lot of VA's so my opinion is likely to be shit
Okay, so almost every manga I've read so far has suddenly got an anime. When is it OPM turn to get an anime?
The guy who does Gintoki is good at those monotonous voices though. And Saitama does have some pretty damn badass/serious lines from time to time and the guy does that well too. As the same character even.
Only concern I have is that it would get some time getting used to.
I guess this would be kind of an example. I feel like Saitama would talk like this.
>taken away by its art.
The character Gintoki is pretty much bored 90% of the time so it should be possible to do. Also, keep in mind that he Does have to say badass stuff from time to time. And the videos have subtitles, you can read them, no ?
Here's another semi-monotonous one
Could the S-Class heroes beat Mob in ???% mode?
That's what I was thinking at first and why I think it would take some time getting used to. But then I remember he did this guy and well, it kinda fits, I think.
Yeah I think he sounds about right, but I think maybe he sounds a bit too tough. I think he sounds like a guy who could beat you up, which I don't think saitama should sound like
There's a difference in understanding what is said and understanding by reading subtitles.
To me it's all incoherent nonsense, I can only understand what is going on because I read the subs, but I don't really know what they're saying. you know what I mean?
I don't know, colors can add a lot to the visual experience. if everything is always in black and white it gets kinda boring after a while
>and manga is much cheaper than comics
So? does that make it better art wise or something?
There are only a few plausable reasons why we haven't gotten an anime yet:
- Studios are only going by the tankobon releases, which are barely far enough to support a 1 cour series (ONE's version could easily reach 3 cour by the end of the Garou arc).
- An anime has been attempted but Murata/ONE won't give the green light.
- An anime HAS started production, and through some miracle the studio in charge is taking a super long time to draw the most breathtaking art of our time.
You think so ? I have never heard Usopps VA in anything else so I would always see him as Usopp. And it sounds a bit too 'squeaky' if you know what I mean. It's not the right word but I can't explain it properly. And would his voice really work when Saitama is laying down the beatdown and with dialogues like >>120458437
>I don't know, colors can add a lot to the visual experience. if everything is always in black and white it gets kinda boring after a while
No it doesn't, grey shades easily makes up for that.
>its the reason why there's no color.
contrary to popular belief, printing in color isn't actually that much more expensive than black and white. I bet the price has more to do with the size of printed manga that the color.
>Compare someone like miura to the best western artist Dave gibbons
Why would you say Dave Gibbons is the best western artist? I mean he's allright and he knows how to visualize a story, but he's by no means the best
Huh, he sounds way different from Usopp in the anime. And yea, I think by 'squeaky' I meant high pitched. Probably. But yea, I do think Gintoki's voice might be a bit too deep.
Here are some that are good in variety of styles(in my opinion). Ryan Ottley, Alex Ross, Sean Phillips. There is no powergap.
>applying math to something subjective
Eyeshield 21 for me back in the day was bar none the only sports manga I thoroughly enjoyed. I'd say it's definitely worth a read, especially to see Murata evolve into the master he is today.
However, it catches Yakitate Japan syndrome in that its 3rd act goes down the shitter quite fast.
I would have to look. The image is Ryan Ottley not Cory, Corey did the first issues of Invincible but his style is different.
Here is an Alex Ross panel from Kingdom Come.
I like western and manga it just seems silly to make it a competition when there are great artists in both.
You know what, anon?
you are right
How are the "action" scenes ? It clearly feels like he just copied photos he made, the last panel is lacking so much dynamism it hurts. You should all just go read "understanding comics" by Scott McCloud, which explains this too much realism problem.
The moment you can clearly imagine her heart going doki doki.
movies are with real fucking people, comics/mangas are stylized drawings.
>tfw you will never be a retard who actually believes that movies are the best medium and everything else is just toys
kill me now
So? Things are still better in color. why would you want less quality when you can have more?
wasn't that meteor chapter in OPM even more awesome than usual? would it have been just as good were it in black and white?
In my opinion it wouldn't
The action scenes are fine? If you don't like realism then there loads of western artists that are more stylistic and are great try Sean Phillips(Criminal) or David Mazzucchelli(Batman: Year One). Another good source is the Queen and Country series by Greg Rucka which has different artists for each volume.
Also Ryan Ottley doesn't trace(kinda obvious since no one looks like that irl)
Nah, mangas artists are doing a way better job usually for actions scenes, your pic proves that very well.
Just speculation, bro. Don't get too excited.
But those have to be legit reasons. It can't be due to lack of sales; OPM has been sharing the top 25 best seller spots for a while, and almost every other manga on that list has gotten some sort of anime.
Depends on the artist tho, just because Murata is really really good doesn't mean all manga in general is better in action scenes
I disagree but I don't want to derail. I can keep posting western artists but I doubt I'll change your mind.
Here's a raw page from queen and country which has good art in my opinion.
Two more artists with distinctive styles who I think are good are Mike Mignola(Hellboy) and Guy Davis(BPRD). I still think Murata's art is great but there's definitely comic artists just as good.
Yeah I think Ottley is just as good as Murata at action etc.
That is just an uninked panel from Invincible...
Which alone has loads actions scenes as good as Muratas.
Hey, now what guys. Stop. Fucking stop and let's just go back to OPM.
latter are way more adapted for pages.Covers and stuff like that are a different thing.
Otherwise, grey shades are enough compared to colors. They're used in japan to make books WAY cheaper. And I highly thank them for that. Colors are for collector/limited editions that are way more expensive and a bigger size (HotD's for example).
That's why manga are overall a better deal than comics.
Not to mention most mangakas do both the art and the writing while comics have a writer and illustrators and what not, also doing twice or more pages a month than most comics. It's a pointless comparison.
That cover's kind of inspired. I liked poor Saitama being left out of the shot.
>She wants the one punch
Saitama is such a gentleman
A doujin that ultimateking teased us with. Basically alternate reality Saitama got his Genos killed, turns evil, and then invades main story to steal Saitama's Genos away.
Then it turns gayer than a peacock three-way.
> implying Saitama would give so much of a fuck
That's quite some fujoshit fanfic garbage joke, even the whole "good vs evil" is just stupid, there a way better doujins on pixiv that should get a translation.
