From what I remember anons saying, the Railgun arc takes place a day afterwards. There's a timeline that shows when all these things happen, it's pretty stuffed together.

The whole deal with Oriana starts and ends on the first day.

The Railgun Daihaseisai arc starts on the first day, though much of it occurs on the second day. The bonfire dance occurs near the end of the Daihaseisai, and the epilogue with Misaka Imouto telling Mikoto that she wants to go the beach is after the Daihaseisai.

The Railgun anime has only covered 2/5 complete story arcs, and there's a 6th ongoing. It's aeons behind while Index is even further behind.

As for Index and Railgun they need to change studios, directors and character designs. Whoever did the Railgun cast in the style of Macross Frontier character designs really made them look so much more interesting

I'm actually so bitter about them not announcing Index III at the anniversary event that I haven't even read Heavy Object yet. I don't even want to watch it because I'm so assblasted.

Heavy Object is fun anon. The main characters share various things in common with the older characters from Index (such as Touma, Hamazura etc) while also being unique in their own ways.

The setting is also pretty interesting, probably one of the more unusual takes on mecha since Sora no Woto.
