This series needed more gore. Everyone loves to claim that MLA is full of "despair", yet there were only two instances that I felt genuinely disturbed and sickened by, and the second instance just ended up turning me on after I got over that.
>>120349186
If you develop any type of relationship with the characters, you don't need gore in order to feel despair. Gore is needed for a cheesy dick b-horror movie that people watch when they have absolutely nothing better to do.
>>120349285
If the most greusome death is the first one that occurs maybe halfway through the game, then the other ones have less impact. How am I supposed to feel bad for characters, where the worst thing that happens to them, is they have a heroic death?
No fapping to dead slavs.
>>120349186
Despair and disgust are different, you just want gore. The whole thing focuses on despair more often that not.
>>120349709
The despiar would be much more effective with gore. What is the point of starting out with the most horrible example of death by BETA, only to have all the other deaths PG-13 by comparison?
>>120349843
>The despiar would be much more effective with gore.
No. Gore is fucking dull most of the time. Also, sometimes it can be better for things to be implied rather than explicitly shown outright as it gets the reader's imaginations churning, which could be in greater effect than what's directly onscreen. If it was just gore everywhere, I wouldn't be able to take it seriously and would be able to physically read from rolling my eyes so much. Forcing explicit gore over and over is trying too hard. Sparsity is the key.
>all the other deaths PG-13 by comparison
Yeah, not really. Theones where they stay with the bomb was pretty overused, and one was particularly melodramatic, but can you really say having one's body infested with tentacles, or being ripped in half and being processed into BETA, or being violently electrocuted are pg-13? Also, there was the severed heads in the control room, and the blood splatter after. I can say that had more effect in how it was handled than if there was some cheap show of guts being thrown about.
This is now Sumika thread.
>>120349186
It's all about how you use it.
Sounds like you just want some gore porn to fap to, in which case
>>>/g/
>>120349186
>Needs more gore
>implying a torn up Takemikazuchi isn't gory enough already
You monster.
>>120349843
>The despiar would be much more effective with gore
No it wouldn't.
>>120352667
Yes, I can get behind that. Let's do it before slavfags and Noble Confidant supporters flock in.
>>120352941

Off to /m/ I am.
>>120353148
I have your back, Sumikabro.
Cryska, Inia and Yui are my waifus.
>>120352811
Ayamine's pantsu > Slutmika's
>>120353318
>dead slavs
>>120353213
Sumika is mai waifu.
Also, OP is a fag. Muv Luv has some gore, but it's not the point of the story. I suppose the most gory parts of the game are:ChompWhen older Suzumiya gets splattered agaisnt the glass during Yokohama Arc
Other than that, it's all about the psychological effect. If you don't let yourself get attached to the characters, it won't be as good.
In other words, only waifufags can truly enjoy Muv Luv. >>120353193 can go jerk off to robots all he wants.
>Sumika is mai waifu.
No, she is Takeru's waifu.
You are thousands years early to compare to the bratty savior.
>>120353398
>implying /m/ only talks about the mecha and not majorily the story.
I remember a time when MuvLuv threads on /a/ weren't shit either.
>>120353687
the most depressing moments in those games were when meiya was dying for the d and takeru wouldn't give it to her
The best squadmate you could have. in every way.She never told anyone about him rooming with Yashiro

>>120349186
I hope you didn't skip reading Extra first.

Yeah, I mean where is the problem?

Valkylies instead of Valkyries.
>>120354152
That's because they lied when they said everyone was going come back ;_;
My Koto Sumika came in the other day from Amazon along with two kits I got on sale. I own the Koto Meiya one too and they're both really nice.
>>120354261
Oh, wow.
Never noticed that.
>>120354321
>No Alter
Feels bad man
>>120354321
One day I'll put all of my kits together. One day.
So, I'm planning to insert the Muv-Luv series into my backlog, but I want to be able to get some shorter things out of the way first. How many hours can I expect the three main games to take if I like to read a bit slower to get more involved and immersed?
>>120354351
Yeah...got to take what we can get I guess.
It's just too bad both Meiya and Sumika figures hit bargain bin prices so quickly, I really wanted figures of the rest of the cast.
Especially Yuuhi
>>120354481
I'd estimate 80-100 hours depending on how much of Extra you go through (read all the routes).
>>120354481
This might help.
>>120354321
Damn, I completely forgot I got her in a box, stashed up.
I really need to find a normal place to live so I can put my figures on display instead of keeping them in boxes at home.
>>120354439
>one day
I still didn't put my Nu Gundam together despite me buying it 2 years ago.
>>120354439
I finally built both my SD Shiranui and SD Takemikazuchi, planning to move onto my Berkut next before I tackle any of the non-scales.
Koto kits are extremely fragile, if you've never built one before, I'd recommend starting with your cheapest one or buying their cheap SD kits from Amazon and practicing.
>>120354500
We were never going to get the rest of them anon. The only chance would be if they adapted MLA into an anime, and there's a better chance of us actually being invaded by BETA than that happening.
>>120354530
>>120354576
Thanks, that chart especially will come in handy.
>>120354669
Fuck those are cute. I may have to get a couple to practice on.
>>120349843
>The despiar would be much more effective with gore.
No. Gore is a cheap way to induce disgust and disturbance, but its excessive use will quickly desensitize the viewer/reader and is usually a sign of an idiot who doesn't know how horror works.
>>120354670
>chance of us actually being invaded by BETA
Well, that can't be too bad right? It could either happen naturally ora human causality conductor could get homesick and unintentionally bring them with him.But really, what are the odds? It'll never happen!
>>120354791
They're like $10-$12 on Amazon for the Shiranui and Takemikazuchi 00-R. Yuuya's white SD Shiranui and Yui's yellow SD Takemikazuchi are a bit pricier but they don't look that great from the pictures I've seen of it.
I recommend getting a side cutter as well.
Thread needs more Yuuhi.
I posted this in the /m/ thread but they're slow and this thread is slowly dying so whatever.
Regarding this image, there's a sort of the implication thatthe world still goes on in spite of supposedly Takeru's death.
What I then thought about was thatit's not like Takeru was the direct trigger to a world reset. In the end it's Sumika that decides, either consciously or otherwise, to reset the world since she was the causality conductor. Takeru could have been crippled and she reset it, or he could have been dead for a while before Sumika found out he was dead (I forget how Sumika would find out, maybe it was some physic connection to him since she was basically his creator? Couldn't she just create another one without resetting the world?).
Another thing to think about is the range of Sumika's reset abilities. As in, did it extend throughout the entire universe, and when she resets the whole thing gets put back all those days? Or perhaps just the solar system, and the outside universe proceeds the same as it always did (which could lead to multiple heroine/daughter combos if they went to the same planet each time). Or maybe it's just the Earth, and the Moon and Mars are unaffected? That means the BETA there could have been building up the entire time the looping stuff was going on; what a surprise the humans would be in for!
Or maybe there's something that addresses this that I've forgotten? I haven't read it in forever. I could be totally wrong and that'd be kinda embarrassing.

I've never heard anyone say that they needed more gore to really enjoy the despair/suffering in the movie/book/show.
We just have different tastes anon; and I believe that a good story does not need gore in order to make you feel pain. It is all in the connection that you have with the characters and the relationship that is built.Mana is best girl
>>120354825
The main series is 100 hours long with almost nothing happening the entire time. I doubt they could overuse gore if they tried.
