are you healed yet /a/?
In the end of Billiards, I think Onna and Decim's talk at the end were just playful banter between the two of them. Onna actually knew and used that as a preface to ask the rationale behind his judgement. He 'can't tell her' is his playful way of saying 'it's a secret' in answer to a question she doesn't need to ask.
As for why the old man was sent to the void, we'll never know with any degree of certainty. If he was being truly humane, he should've just played shitty after telling the kid that he doesn't need to win.
Oh God, I'm a sucker for this type of shit.
Both getting reincarnated because they are good people was also great. Based God for letting them have a good time together before they move on.
Honestly I think what the old man said to Decim was that he doesn't regret anything he did in his life, including all the bad things. That's why he went to the void and the kid didn't.
It also fits with his last smile right before the smile closes, as it's like a "haha i don't give a fuck" thing. He's lived his life, never regretted a second, and doesn't care for another one.
Very much so my heart was doing doki doki like theirs.
In the end, I can't say for sure what's happening either way since there are still enough variables that aren't fully presented, so I'll just have to see how it works itself out later.
I know that Ansatsu was delayed in response to the japanese hostages maybe being killed, but I'm not sure what you're talking about here.
It wouldn't have even been hard to do, either. The third friend in the flashback could have been a boy, and the guy's friends at the bowling alley could have whispered about how he got a sex change
A truly nice god would have kept them from getting killed by a bus.
You are like those guys who thank god for a touchdown, only seeing the good things and shrugging off the bad things.
What happens if a grade A buddhist comes into the bar? If the void is being sent into nothingness with all their negativity intact, wouldn't that be what he wants because there is no negativity in him to suffer from?
Onna's reply ("You're so petty") heavily implies that there's nothing stopping him from telling her. He just chose not to. He sort of pulled off the same shit this episode and Onna's response, again, heavily implies that withholding information to her is a common thing he does.
No, I found that a refreshing change of pace. I don't think I've really seen plastic surgery dealt with in a serious fashion in anime before.
Also, this episode was great, I didn't want to see another story about two people tearing each other apart. I really liked the setup, it was refreshing.
The ED scenes are ridiculously cute. I think this is really a step up from the first arc.
I don't want to see any more trans characters in my shows. The only one that has ever been done well was Beppo from the Counte of Monte Cristo.
Every other time we just get these really stupid characters. I can't take them seriously.
Of course, in real life I consider transvestism to be a mental illness and staunchly oppose endeavors to allow mentally ill men to use women's restrooms.
>Arcade cabinet as the game
Single mom's going to get wrekt all the way into the reincarnation elevator and back.
How can he be good at arcade games if he never leaves the house?
Also, it says his parents are divorced and he's living with his father's second wife. Who the hell would put up with that shit? I'm disgusted enough that so many Japanese parents will enable their shut-in children, but to tolerate it from a kid that's not even yours?
Seems like they're going to play fighting games. The cabinet has a moves list on it.
Well, you have to consider her side of things. She's probably being financially provided for by the kids father-- objecting to the kid objects to her own living situation. It also casts her as being against his child.
Plus, it's like, people have their issues. Step family isn't always loving/close, but it does have a duty to be family.
That'd be a good idea actually, some kind of racing game could be really fun.
I'd also like to see them do something like scrabble, where the words have meanings related to their memories, but I think the japanese sorta nixes that one.
These tears, oh god, where are they coming from? ;_;
>thought "she" was a tranny up until the reveal
Guy might have talked with the chick at the bowling alley instead of following the chick onto a bus if she didn't look different. Night probably would have played out differently, saving both their lives.
Moral is don't change who you are, you're beautiful, yadayada.
>Bitch, please. That joke was a 10/10.
Also, I am HEALED. Thank you episode three.
>measure of joy and suffering for everyone in the world
How do you measure this? Where are you statistics? Where are your charts? What is the percentages?
>healed by Death Parade
Didn't think this could happen.
I think yeah. He remembered who she was and I don't think she was supposed to be ugly, just a bit more average looking than her post-surgery looks.
At least they both reincarnated. And we can dream about it being near to each other.
i dunno, something feels off when women do drastic things in life like having an affair or having cosmetic surgery for one guy, but cant bring themselves to talk to a guy they're in love with. this better not become a fucking pattern
Russia level of banter. This guy's alright.
>My little toaster can't be this bad at playing 1080p webm's of upscaled 720p Chinese cartoons
I don't know, in my opinion this would have been better left as that one single Death Billiards episode, it alone was good enough. I'm still not sure of what to think about Parade, but I can't say I hate it so far so I'm not going to drop it. I hope we get more chill episodes like this one was in the future.
And hopefully there will be no more recaps that only exist to make people on /a/ mad.
>you will never have a bar with its own pond and fucking boat
Accept it and embrace the dick. Who knows, I could be reborn as a girl next life too! Or maybe she could fuck a random hole and pretend she's sending her dick into the void for me.
>That friendliness during game, them cheering for each other
>That happy ending
It's not NTR if the one you love is each other. Instead of putting dicks in each others' asses you can instead put them together at the same time in a woman.
Isn't that romantic?
>open new thread
>close the thread.
>Have the choice to save both of them
>SHE CHEATED. TO THE VOID SHE GOES (BUT HER CRAZY HUSBAND GETS TO STAY ALIVE)
Decim truly is an autistic nerd. Down to the virgin-hating stuff most of this site is keen on.
Clearly humanity produces more souls than it can support so the only way to maintain equilibrium is to hand a moody autist ultimate power to banish some of them to the shadow realm.
She worked at a bowling alley, that's where he saw her and the reason he died.
I mean, billiards was because old guy was a champion and young guy used it to impress a woman and darts because it was the husband's hobby.
>to hand a moody autist ultimate power to banish some of them to the shadow realm.
That makes sense.
wasn't in this episode
Part of the point of that episode is that there are nuances to people's decisions that nobody, including Onna, fully understood.
In that case, Decim decided to go with the letter rather than the spirit of the law - I think that's generally his character though.
Your face when?
Darts had pain and billiards had malfunctioning body parts. Where the threat of death was very real at least to the participants. How is it fair that the couple got a easy game to not be nervous about?
Oh, because the persons from episode one and two weren't good persons in general who died accidentally? What about the old man and the young man from the OAAV? Nigga, u ain't making sense.
Even if it is anime, they could h ave made her look properly ugly. I am not even seeing that much different with her face after the operation. Maybe she just removed the freckles?
Point is, she was at most very average, but not ugly. She was probably just looking at some excuse or/and something to give her more courage.
>What about the old man and the young man from the OAAV?
He was caught cheating on his girlfriend, who in turn stabbed him. That's a violent death.
> because the persons from episode one and two weren't good persons in general
The husband got them killed in the first place by being a paranoid retard, not an accident.
>double reincarnation is an option
>future players will still think they're competing to see who lives
>people fight desperately over reincarnation causing them to plummet into the Void
No, the married couple featured a husband incapable of trusting anyone and a wife incapable of loyalty.
By comparison, this couple were much less tainted.
I still don't think that it was very fair that they got a non pressuring game. If the magic roulette already "knows" by the type of the game it picks, isn't this kind of pointless? I hope I'm making sense
>Wife incapable of loyalty
>Still clinging to that myth
>When faced with her husband uglyness, she sacrificed herself
Anyways, it does not matter. That game had no goal with it. They did not threaten them. At all. They weren't scared to play at all, when every other games shown had that fear elements.
Guys, the games get decided by the writer, so they can be the most appropriate for the people playing.
Now just think of the writer as God. He gives them the proper challenges to test them. In this case the man could have forsaken her after learning the truth. The woman could have continued the misunderstanding about her identity. But neither decided to do so. It was a proper test of how honest and pure their feelings are.
I AIN'T GONA MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKEEE ITTTTTT
Why do they get off easy?
Here you go
You can't know that for sure. Especially considering her face before and after barely seems to have changed.
It was a problem with her own insecurities and letting them both grow apart.
>easy to say for him
He said it in earnest and lived up to his words. He did not give a fuck about losing the pool game and even let the other guy win the fight and game. He's not spouting bullshit behind the safety of his superiority.
Definitely got eyelid surgery as well.
Eyelashes, freckles, lips is probably just a before&after makeup.
I hope that
Decim slowly begins to have feelings and learn more about humans from Onna and then they fall in love
They don't even know they're dead. The OVA did a good job of making Decim look like a suave Jigsaw murderer. Everyone is supposed to play the game hoping wining means escape.
Hell, Decim didn't even show the couple his doll collection. If he did that, it would hardly have been as calm and friendly a game.
Did you saw him cutting her? No. But we saw her before face and it was almost the same as her after. And even if there were more changed than we were visible shown, she still wasn't ugly before that.
It's actually the Number 1 plastic surgery in worst korea.
Stop pretending to be retarded.
>Not getting I wasn't talking about the honesty of his words or how right he actually was
>Not getting my statement was 100% correct since I was talking about the perception the young man would have of that man comment
He had multiple reasons to not fear death as much. He was also good. But that's irrelevant, the young man perceived the game a certain way after seeing a room full of what he thought were dead bodies and feeling that he lost sensation in a body part after it was pocketed. Getting his brain pocketed did not seem good.
What is love?
The old guy was a good man that died from being old. He did not experience pain when his balls were getting in.
The married couple both had problems, both experienced pain.
The last two guys were both good in their life, so they didn't even get a game with pain.
A social construct created by society to keep humans as the worker bees. You need to install false hope into humans otherwise they would an hero in the droves and then you wouldn't have a work force.
You can't know that, you are just speculating. If it is not there, then it isn't.
And the change in her eyes is a very basic one to make them look bigger, by being more open. It is just a silly popular style among women, not that big of a factor in reality. And it doesn't change her basic face structure at all.
Nona, please. Take your communist teachings back to China.
The "I need to remember my name" rationale for them agreeing was sort of absurd. It's like they heard him mention playing as if their life was on the line in passing then subsequently forgot in the excitement of the moment.
>That autist still going on and on about how she did not get surgery on her face when she got so much surgery even her classmate know about it
>We even saw one of the surgeries where she got operation son the jaw and the cheekbone
Fucking autists, I swear.
>trying so hard to find the wrong in people
You remind me of someone.
Didn't they explicitly say in an episode 2 or billiards that the games aren't actually chosen at random? You press the button to get you hyped for the battoru, but the whole thing is a set up to see what you'll actually do vs. their predictions.
For example, it was predicted that the old guy would win the game of billiards if they played it straight and the guy accepted his loss. Instead he threw that nigga into a tank of jellyfish.
Said the autism, who wiped sweat off his forehead, gazed upon monitor which was the only light source in his basement room and proceed to insert hot pockets into his mouse while selecting photo of anime girl.
>facial expression pretty fucking clear
Except it was super ambiguous and intended to make him look like an asshole and add to the confusion of what happened. While I too immediately assumed he had said something similar, him being sent to the void when doing a semi-virtuous act is solely dependent upon Decim not getting it and sending him to a place where he has to remember all painful memories for eternity just because he said he didn't need to live anymore rather than reincarnating both.
>wasn't in this episode
Does this mean you can have any videogame as a death game? What about
Death of the Ancients?
Not him, but that's not a hard sentence to parse.
It means someone tries hard to find the wrong in people. As in focusing on and searching for mistakes or flaws. It's in direct response to the other anon going on about autism for no reason.
>they get thrown into the void based on their hero picks
So...let me get this straight? The entire games are there to see how a person really is, but how can you judge fairly when you're provoking them to do it in the first place.
It's like harassing someone that they're a rapist over and over and then the person finally snaps and rapes someone. Then the judges are like see I fucking told you so the guy was a rapist.
So,the people who come there and when delcin says they are gonna play a game and react with ah "eh,ok,i dont have anything better to do aniway" wont make delcim show then his doll collection and will probably procced to play a game without the fear of losing their lives.
>upon Decim not getting it and sending him to a place where he has to remember all painful memories for eternity
Now that is very retarded bullshit. There is no such thing.
And the point is he got to experience a full life, all the good and all the bad that he could. There was nothing more for his soul to experience. They can't continue returning all the souls back, because new ones are coming in as it is.
He was a good person and was got to experience everything there was, so he was just send to void.
>It's like harassing someone that they're a rapist over and over and then the person finally snaps and rapes someone.
Not even close.
In upscale bars it's not that abnormal.
>comfy music from /a/
>comfy discussion about comfy episode
Man, it was so comfy I shed a tear at the end of the episode. Feels good
You've never seen a bowling alley with a bar attached? That's weird. You're weird Anon.
I mean sure it's usually not IN the bar, but then again most bars don't have a magical instantly modular self-decorating gaming space.
>eh,ok i will play
>heh, playing with lives at stake, this guy knows some jokes
>gets a harmless game
>is actually a ultra-asshole
>would cheat even for a small game
>partner is ultra bad at the game so there's no need to cheat
>gets reincarnation because the experience was pretty chill overall
Autism spamming is one of the worst cancers to infest all of 4chan.
Boy, how do I insult and discredit an opinion? I know, call him an autist! Did autist become the replacement for the term retard? I get retard, it's used as an insult and it sort of makes sense. Autist, aside from not being a word, might imply retardation as most autists are low level, but it also implies all of those other qualities associated with autism particularly, which are rarely apropos to anything discussed ever. Is it clever? Hell no, it sprung out from bullshit on some other boards and stuck.
Sooo did the woman from EP2 really get fucked over or what? Because that would be fucking bullshit. Like, "whoops, into the eternal void your soul goes because I misjudged you :D".
But anon, the game is already predetermined so that both parties are pretty decent at it. Hell, even the game's outcome is predetermined by their personal skill. Their actions during and after the game are not.
Dude, it just means you focus on negative characteristics in others, it's not a metaphysical concept. You aren't literally SEEKING THE EVIL or whatever.
What, that's what the secondary source background info has confirmed the void to be. Can't corroborate it, but that's pretty much what has been posted since week 2.
>They can't continue returning all the souls back, because new ones are coming in as it is.
What do you think reincarnation even is?
Yea because neither situation isn't forcing the person do something, eh?
They of those situation someone is instigating the threat.
The only way to really see what a person is like is to watch them in their nature inhabitant without them knowing you're watching them.
This man is your friend. He fights for love.
I actually cried. I didn't realize it until my cheeks felt warm.
They already know what the person is like because they have their memories.
Calling someone a rapist doesn't force them to become a rapist. A more similar comparison would be entrapment by stranding a man on an island with a woman.
Look, there are two reasons to get sent in the void.
The first one is to be a bad person, so you get sent there to not cause trouble to others.
The other one is if you have had lived to its fullest.
They are good enough to give you more than one chance at getting a good life with proper death, but you cannot keep reincarnating everything. In the last 100 years we have increased hour numbers about 6 times. New fresh souls are being pumped in constantly.
And now you know why millennium kids are retards, because they had less overall soul experience.
Perhaps you aren't familiar with basic metaphysical concepts, but reincarnation usually entails recycling the same souls over and over. The greeks believed that all souls existed already and were brought to and from the planet through death and rebirth. It's the same concept used in Hinduism and Buddhism. New souls are not being made, dead ones are brought back. When a baby is born ITS SOUL IS FROM SOMEONE WHO DIED. HOLY SHIT.
>The only way to really see what a person is like is to watch them in their nature inhabitant without them knowing you're watching them.
Oh you mean like receiving a copy of their memories like they already do?
To everyone who complain that they aggreed to the game with their lives on the line too easily: I think the girl really wanted to get her memories back which basically meant getting her life back. I mean what would she do without knowing who she is? And the guy simply did not take the whole thing too seriously imo. Also, he was charmed by the girl and that made him even more ignorant.
Alright and before you go
>population increases, they make new souls!
It's fucking religion, they have as many souls as they want, it's just a fucking queue about who gets put where. And more specifically, in buddhism and hinduism, animal souls can go into humans since they're all the same.
They only get partial memories as Nora said when she was explaining the Kaleidoscope shit.
So yea, looking at some memories isn't an indication of what kind of person he/she is.
But what Decim did by threatening the couple in episode 1 was instigating the conflict because they were controlled by fear.
the post below yours is in direct opposition to what you say because you're fucking wrong. Yes, the point of buddhism is nirvana, but that doesn't fucking mean anything to this conversation. The show has already shown that the void isn't at all like nirvana. If you knew anything about greek cosmology, you'd know that's not how the soul works. If you knew anything about Hindu reincarnation, you'd know the idea of a "full life" is actually a bad thing.
That is true, but even when a species disappears, it usually means another one got a lot bigger. And humanity is producing many species in huge numbers.
He/you was the one that decided to bring Buddhism to the table, don't spreg about it because I actually replied to it.
Moar leik Atsuro, amirite?
I'm so glad she wasn't a fucking whore like the previous one.
It's reincarnation in a show made in Japan, where Buddhism is a major religion. A major tenet is that the dead go back. There's no indication in the show or in the surrounding mythos that they need to send in new souls.
>They can't continue returning all the souls back, because new ones are coming in as it is.
That was something you just blurted out and goes against any of the framing symbolism.
>The void is
>Rebirth,[note 2] also called transmigration and reincarnation, is a common belief in all Buddhist traditions. It says that birth and death in the six realms occur in successive cycles driven by ignorance (avidyā), desire (trsnā), and hatred (dvesa). The cycle of rebirth is called samsarā. It is a beginningless and ever-ongoing process. Liberation from samsarā can be attained by following the Buddhist Path. This path leads to vidyā, and the stilling of trsnā and dvesa. Hereby the ongoing process of rebirth is stopped.
Except it was confirmed fucking weeks ago it's not the same thing. Hence why people say that Machiko got shafted by being sent to the void. Hence why Nona thought Decim made a mistake. Hence why Onna thought he made a mistake.
If it was people wouldn't be arguing about whether machiko deserved her fate. Holy shit /a/non.
Welcome to the NHK, we have /r9k/ as well
/v/ makes you wise, fgt. Hinduism/brahmanism/buddhism agree, don't bother them about it:
>Vidya is an epithet of the Hindu goddess Sarasvati, consort of Brahma (according to Hindu beliefs). She has superior spiritual feminine energy—the Param Prakriti—which purifies, empowers, and uplifts the individual. Hence, she is called the Goddess of Knowledge.
Life is hell.
No, seriously. According to buddhism, you're alive because you reincarnated, and you reincarnated because you still haven't squared your karma. Once your karma has been squared (according to the Dalai Lama, through self-discipline, meditative concentration, and the wisdom of emptiness), you can get out of this reincarnation cycle.
Fuck the Japanese truck.
Ruining love since 453AD.
I was hoping this would be an episode of them being great people even under all that pressure, not a super calm and relaxing date. Although I liked the episode itself, it feels ridiculous in the context of the other ones preceding it.
Wasn't the ENTIRE point of all this shit to put them under huge amounts of pressure so we get a glimpse of their true character and they can then be judged appropriately?
Does the autistic guy ever win in stuff for girls?
I'm so glad I'm not the only one.
I want her to take his virginity.
I'm guessing they will feel the pain their characters in the game face?
>kissless virgins screaming HEALING at a 2D depiction of a 3D normalfag being normal
This episode was kind of shit though.
Healing? what? The guy likes her appearance and was remembering some other girl with wavy hair, not the ugly one that he was playing with.
The girl was desperate as fuck and she did plastic surgery, changed herself for a single guy. A guy that would NEVER ever like her if she wasn't pretty.
It's pretty sad.
It's the opposite because the first couple had issues related to negative feelings while this couple had issues related to positive feelings (love). That, and also because they were both decent persons.
I expect next episode to be about love but with shit human beings and double void.
Just wait till we get the episode with one evil guy and one good guy. Both persist in their nature until before the very end, the one who endured inspires good in the other who is perplexed by it. He questions the good man and he replies
>Because there is good in the world, and it's worth fighting for.
Cue redemption, healing and Decim hugging
Imagine Onna hugging Decim and him looking all confused because he doesn't know what a hug is.
Disregard, cocks etc.
When the best parade will appear?
Healed from what?
Only death can heal me.
>tfw disliked your childhood friends
>Arcades next week.
I hope they go all out and have something licensed like SF.
I thought she had an abortion or some shit, since (I imagine) due to the prudeness of Japan folk that would be considered a heavy stain to have on you.
And here's the old half mirrored over the new half. You'd have to be blind not to see the different jaw.
All I know is that White people are being associated with good people while, what is clearly a mask for black people, excuse me, colored people, is for bad and evil people. It's racist as fuck. Imma lodge a complaint.
Of course they're racist.
Everytime they run, they say
I wonder if there are other floors somewhat similar to the bar but with different death rules. I mean Decim's bar is for people who have died at the same time, but there may be other floors that test individuals or people who have some strange circumstances and/or weird connections to others.
And some people of some kinds face specific problems due to the color of their skins. As evidenced by the fact not being white in a fucking anime = being bad = being punished. Those kinds of associations aren't good for anyone. Especially when Japanese consider themselves white.
