No way, the story would be so much better with generics.

You have Ramza and the main characters acting as the leaders of this outfit filled with young recruits and a few old cronies who were just doing their job before they got swept up in Ramza's drama.

Divide up the generics into small squads under different main characters and every now and then you can introduce a few more formally just to kill them off. Ramza is basically an unsung hero whose true story and heroic deeds were repressed by the Church, so it's only fitting that he is assisted by a bunch of average people who aren't really anyone special, but just people who were sympathetic to him and willing to sacrifice themselves for his cause.

This would help give the sense that in addition to Ramza, there were many fairly average and non-extraordinary people who nonetheless are heroes in their own right with no one to really mourn their deaths for the sake of truth, who didn't abandon the true hero in his time of need.

I can picture it now. They've accepted a mission that needs to be completed in a Jagd area, and the only people who know what's up with Jagds are the veterans, and they're conveniently out on their own missions since they're more capable. Ramza and co. head out, only to realize far too late that Jagds are lawless and a newbie generic (probably female for muh drama) tragically dies due to Ramza's inexperience, a la that one forced scene in SAO.

I have some fighting games I'd like to see adapted.

Soul Blade/Soul Calibur (as in the first game) by Studio MAPPA. Maybe 2, too? I'm not sure if that's a good stopping point for the plot and it starts flying out of control by 3.

Rival Schools or Darkstalkers or even MvC in spite of all logic courtesy of Trigger. Yes, Trigger.

I'd also like to see Kikaioh/Tech Romancer, but I'm not really sure what studio I'd go for. It's mecha, so Sunrise is always a safe bet...

And then there's Pic Related, which isn't strictly a fighting game. It'd be a fun kid's anime but once again I'm not sure who I'd want to handle it.

I want to see this turned into an anime by Brains Base. Each book would be a cour, and it would be like a long-running LN adaptation like Raildex or Monagatari, but better. As it is already one of the greatest stories ever told Trigger wouldn't have to worry about writing, but could just focus on making it fun as fuck to watch, perhaps with three or four unrelated arcs per cour.

Id like to see what happened the Gwyn's knights when Artorias went after Manus. the Political games in Anor Londo between Seethe (capturing the princess guard for experiments while going mad), Gwynevere (abandoning her brother and capital with Flan), Gwyn (understanding the sacrifice he would have to make, unsure of the world he would leave behind), Gwyndolin (who was always shunned but wishes to preserve the Legacy and punish betrayal), and the Knights of Gwyn (who had the power to leave or overthrow everything be carried out their duties despite knowing there would be no happy ending). It would probably be a lot like the Golden Age arc of Berserk, cause we all know everything goes to shit and the world gets depressing.

Bones and I.G. Productions could probably handle it.

As much as I like this game and the waifus associated with those numbers, I don't think it or its sequel could be properly adapted to anime, because in both cases the format of the narrative as as a game itself is critical to the plot unfolding.

In 999
The narration/the player's perspective was Child Akane the whole time. This is somewhat feasible to do in anime format but it wouldn't be perfect.

In VLR: The anime would have to straight up lie to the player in regards to how Sigma appears, like in the short released before the game. This is fucking awful, to say the least, and ruins one of the best foreshadowed plot points in the game.

In both games the whole meta aspect of the relationship between player knowledge and morphogenetic fields is just outright lost, which ruins one of the neatest things about them.

Basically what I'm saying is that the ZE series was a story made for the medium and takes full advantage of that fact in its telling, and loses a lot of impact if portrayed otherwise.

As much as I'd like an Ace Combat or a FFT I want to see some loopy sci-fi. Specifically Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars series.

The battle system is fun and you can make some really overpowered items but even on the highest level of difficulty the game is really easy. The new characters were cool and interesting but ultimately end up undeveloped, with returning characters barely getting any development either. The main plot issue never gets resolved. Really. Beating the final boss is only a temporary fix. Alchemy starts off fun but eventually becomes extremely grindy as you try to reach 99 by synthesizing the same items over and over again. Not to mention all the bugs that we'll hopefully never see in the NA release.

You'll have to see for yourself, I guess. My post looks like all complaints but I still loved the game enough to order it in English even though I already played it in Japanese.

The game actually places a nice focus on exploration. There's a large variety of maps, some big, some huge, quite a few multi-room areas. Some maps that aren't towns but just NPCs chilling there and selling shit. There's a lot of small events you only get by travelling to certain places, or travelling on a certain route. It took me a while to unlock them all, which I thought was nice.

Unfortunately though, there's only two actual towns and only the main one matters.

My first pick would be Ogre Battle series, Tactics series or Fire Emblem series - you get a variety of characters where you can screw about their alignment, create full spectrum of characters--not just many shades of grey but many shades of other colours too. I fondly remember one of them ends with your lawful hero wiping off a helpless innocent village to keep the kingdom secure. That was cool.
