Maybe it's over.

Who is to say if its truly over? Hell, will it ever be over? Who knows. Perhaps this is the ending of one book and the beginning of another. Should you leave for good? perhaps or perhaps not, but then again, who knows what might be around the corner. This is no ending, but more like the beginning of an ever growing new chapter, and whatever happens will happen.

Anon, if all the drops of water in the sea left, there would be no ocean.
You being here is important, in some small way. I have hope in the future. Maybe the new admin will crack down on shitty janitors and things will be good again.
At least, until something goes wrong and we all start blaming the new admin and saying how much better moot was.
Shit, I've gotten old.

>time passed. an age finished. I'm not part of this
I never thought I'd experience this.
It's funny how we all hated and loved him and yet we would never trust anyone else to run 4chan.
Damn guys I have to confess something.
I´m actually a newfag. I just started going to /a/ a week ago or so.
I really enjoyed it. It´s what I was always searching for I guess. Being in contact with hunderts of faggots who are just like me. I don´t know them and they don´t know me but this side was our connection. I was never good at talking to people in real life and often put up an act and adapt to my surroundings. I hate people, myself included. But on 4chan you can be who you are no matter how autistic you seem. I don´t have that sense of freedom on most other sides. Even with all the shit on this side I fell in love with it and couldn´t leave.
Now this shit. I feel like I wasted my chance to become a part of this community much earlier. 4Chan is like a sanctuary and now I fear it´s done for. But it´s not right?
Please tell me 4Chan will keep existing. I want to have much more fun with you people. ;(

I don't want this place to change, I love it just as it is. I've had so much fun here, and I've been able to feel at peace somewhere, for the first time in my life.

Yes
because the future IS NOW
>There's people leaving 4chan without knowing who's going to be the new administrator.
>>120162884
all I know is that it's not going to be moot
Not been around here for a long time, only a year at best. Not posted much either, mainly lurked.
But it's sad to know that the site might gradually change over time, with all the fun people leaving and only the few ones who think that they might return being left here.
Has been a fun ride and I doubt it'll stop anytime soon and I sure as hell don't want it to.
Why are you guys so miserable, moot was always an attention-whoring faggot, if the site stays the same after he's gone then good riddance. He kept making shitty changes to it anyways, like captcha then nocaptcha, removing visible sage, removing e-mail and subject fields unless you were an OP. Fuck him, increasing cooldown times for posting. He's not done anything good in his 11 years as admin ever, he should just get on with it and delete 4chan then everybody could leave.
>>120162402
I hope so. /a/ is fucking better than other board.

>>120162729

I want /v/ to leave.
Why are people so sad about this? Is moot really so essential to the site that posters are planning on migrating elsewhere if he leaves?
I'm retiring from anime after Eva 3+1. It's been a good ride, and I'm glad you guys were with me for it.

>>120163106

Because Moot's been largely responsible for keeping 4chan from descending into a truly shitty state. I only care because it's the one decent place that exists to discuss chinese cartoons, if it becomes unbearably bad here my interest in them will probably wane with my use of /a/
>>120163106
moot was what made 4chan, 4chan.
He was the only thing standing between us and being like the rest of the internet. He may have been a fuckup, but he did his best to protect what made this place special.
Without moot, the only thing that makes us different from all the other failchans is a large userbase and a nostalgic url.

Nigga, this is an end of an era and don't pretend you don't feel it.
Nobody in 4chan likes changes, and moot was one of the most stable things of the site. Why do you think 4chan has the same design for so many years? Because nobody wanted 4chan to change. But now it is changing and I can now finally realise how much time I have spent here.
That's why I just don't know what to do.
>>120163392
>Because Moot's been largely responsible for keeping 4chan from descending into a truly shitty state.
Fuck that. He's done about two good things in the past three years and that's add webm support and remove /q/, which was his fault in the first place anyway. He's responsible for all of the horrible shit that's happened to here throughout the years.
I'm not overjoyed to see him gone, but that's just because I'm afraid his replacement will be even worse. If he gets someone who truly cares about the userbase it would be a huge improvement.
>>120163483
wow faggot
>>120163522
Maybe to nowhere. I'm old enough, so maybe I should stop discussing trivial shit on the Internet and just enjoy things for myself
>>120163555
I'm just worried that without Moot the site will either veer into shitty darknet territory, or equally badly might try cleaning itself up. It's trodden a fine line for a long time without somehow seeming to fall the wrong way.
Yeah it's been slow to take things up, but I don't come here for technical wizardry.
>>120158500
Been coming here since late 08, after leaving a really shitty anime forum that was going down in flames. First board I stumbled on to was /f/ from some link from god knows where. I was on /f/ for a week cause this was when this site was till using frames and the link I went to had none. When I realized there were other boards to this place including /a/ and /v/ it was really something else. Not only was this the perfect place to find out what new shows were airing, it really created more entertaining OC than any other place on the internet. This is still true, but the energy on each board WAS different then it is today. And I do mean each "board", the amount of actual fucking pride every board had was just crazy. No anon gave a shit what the rest of the internet was doing back then, each board was a more important target of ridicule than gaia or any other shit site. That has changed the most over the years, it used to be "This is /a/, where the fuck do you think you are?" now it's "This is 4chan, where the fuck do you think you are?". That kinda hurts the most, the lack of pride, which lead to the best content really.
>>120163555
You don't get it, do you? "Not doing anything" is exactly what this site needs
The new admin will try to pass popular changes and everything will go to shit very soon
>>120163628
>Your hobbies and interests are trivial
Please kill yourself or get some fucking self respect. What you like and do matters, and so does every idiot you've talked to on this website, shitposter or not.
Good riddance. Fuck moot. This shit site certainly can't get any worse than it already is.
>>120163670
Then let's fucking turn that around. It's our board, we can do whatever the fuck we want with it.
We may call ourselves 4chan, but we've never let /v/ or least of all the faggots from /b/ come and shit up our board.
>>120163628
Honestly, that might be best. I think internet communities have grown a little bit out of control. You definitely don't need some sort of critical hivemind mentality diluting your judgement and opinions, nor should you kill off brain cells by listening to a bunch of half-retarded kids spouting memes. That doesn't mean using the internet is bad, but try and recognize your individuality and take everything at face value so that you can preserve your own opinions.
