I can imagine the anime adaptation of the sex scene.

A smoldering fire, before a double bed of red satin sheets, tall windows beaming moonlight into the dimly lit room as rain patters on the glass panes.

Rudi is laying on the bed, emotionally exhausted, when in comes slinking in, little miss oujo-sama in a red silk nighty.

Her features are mostly hidden in shadows, as are Rudi's.

They begin their love-making in the dark room, cut by moonlight beaming through the windows, and the fireplace behind the gyrating Eris atop Rudi, casts them in a dark silhouette to forgo any need of censoring.

The dark corners of room are then illuminated with past scenes of both characters narrating their personal journeys, insecurities, and love for each other, all the while as they make their love in the dark.

As Eris comes to her narrating conclusion though, the rain begins to beat on the window pains harder, and lightning crashes to finally show the pained expression on her face at the conclusion she must make.

You could always try ぼくは異世界で付与魔法と召喚魔法を天秤にかける (I compare Buff Magic with Summon Magic in Another World).
It has a pretty detailed RPG-based magic system, and the protag even has strengthening magic. He tests it early on by punching a tree, and it turns out the buff magic still isn't good enough to make a tree budge.

Only complaint with the series is how condensed it is. Entire thing takes place over 4 days so far and it has so much fucking happening in it that it's ridiculous.
The three girls on the right are the main heroines, but the publication might have made the left girl into one as well.

Reviewer here. Sorry, for my choice of words that got you triggered. Haha.

Anyway, I feel that it is a male power fantasy because Ainz is overpowered from the get go. Level capped at 100. He also has a harem as well as a legion of absolutely loyal subordinates. He doesn't need to conquer any waifu, they are just waiting for spread their legs as soon as he said the word. He can't die, he has tons of pay to win items that can revive the dead if he wants to. Nothing risk, nothing gained. It's fun to see what he does with all that, but I can only see Overlord as a shallow power fantasy.

While Daybreak on Hyperion has neat use of magic in warfare, I just couldn't stand its cringeworthy as fuck dialogue. I don't believe the Flying Spaghetti Monster/rebellious atheism ever reached much popularity in Japan. All the female characters speak like valley girls as well.

Also the characterization felt mediocre in many ways.

Kaede's supposedly Russian/Japanese, but he/she didn't even feel remotely like one, more like a spazzy American nerd. Does the author actually have such heritage because I really see no reason for this lineage besides the archery thing.

Runelord comes off as slightly autistic, but is overall sort of decent. He however doesn't have any particular flaws besides being a douche to even out his outstanding prowess in everything else. The douche flaw quickly goes away even since he learns to apologize by the end of the first book.

Also, the genderbending setting seems rather unnecessary. You have magical familiar summoning into a fantasy war setting, but then add genderbending I'm a female now drama. It doesn't seem like there'd be a huge difference if Kaede was just female to start with.

I'd personally just give it a C+. The main characters and the dialogues really do feel unbearable.

The whole assassination plot foiling also felt kind of stupid. You have these covert expert assassination squads, but it takes only slight effort to catch them off guard.

Is that true for the storytelling? I think the reason I liked MT so much was because of the depth of the story. It fleshes out every single one of the characters, and the fact that the author obviously knew where the story was going with throwbacks and plot twists to even the very beginning. That's a very hard thing to do without it coming off as "let's reuse this dropped plot point because I have no other ideas" as so many other stories do. I love when a story is well thought out like that. Not to mention I guess since it's the story starts since birth there's a ton of world and character building to do. It actually all makes sense.

For anyone looking for more than one opinion to decide, here's mine from what I've read in the list.

Mother of Learning [A]: Love the troop when it's used for some self-improvement. That and the fact that the plot is still not clear even after many revelations and a pretty complex story makes for a pretty sweet read. Does not touch upon the subject of love, and though there are a few "boy-meets-girl" the MC has no interest in them, though he says that he once had a thing for one of them.

Mushoku Tensei [A+]: Great world building. Terrific character development. Out-of-nowhere events that end up changing the story of the world. Almost every trope is used and it still makes sense in the story.

Overlord [B+]: So far there is too much wish-fulfillment but the world building and character depth presented on the 2 volumes so far hold great potential.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari - Shieldbro [C+]: Great start. Good progressing. Oversized boring arcs with terrible pacing. I only recommend it to people that want something to marathon, it makes it easier when you sit it through instead of reading a few chapters per time because you get increasingly bored if you don't have the past chapters fresh in your mind.

Re:Monster [D]: Terrible. Even worse than Tate in characters. You barely know who the characters are, later on he has wives but despite the name you don't even know who they are or why they like the MC. Shameless wish-fulfillment.

Legendary Moonlight Sculptor [B+]: Over 20 volumes. A story about a guy trying to make money playing a VRmmo.

A counter is supposed to be something that isn't dependent on force at all, just pure technique, reflex and speed. Rudeus clearly has the speed and reflex considering he dealt with the North Emperor sword attacks, and with his demon-eye things like reflex become kind of pointless.

Touki is after all a power and defense increment using mana, both unnecessary to countering.

I hope when Rudeus inevitably reincarnates or (insert another method for him to live as long as to be able fight Hitogami) he either can wield Touki or develops his Water God Style.

Using summons to fight should be that hard either, he kind of needs some pal to tank for him when he fights without the MK-1

God Rudeus looks so fucking handsome. He looks more and more like Paul in his younger days.

Actually LMS is quite decent in the world building. Its main problem is you feel no attachment to the characters because none of them are developed and the author is frequently telling you what to think.

Regardless, I suggest everybody at least try it (preferably early in light novel reading). It will definitely be enjoyable to some, and it provides a means of comparison to other novels so you actually know what's good/not.

It's not about being open minded. plenty of other anime with equally questionable ideas have popped up.

We've discussed this before. It's about risk. The LN for MT just isn't doing well enough to PROPERLY adapt it into an anime. You can't half-ass it with just a 2-cour anime, with no gaurentee for more seasons.
