KnJ manga is actually really good though. It's the sort of thing you'll re-read a few times and still love. Top-tier character developments. Top-tier writing. Great arcs. Good mix of serious stuff and lighthearted stuff. Good messages in there. It's really good. Masterpiece even. The ending is a little wonky and rushed, but I tend to think that's more the publisher/government's fault than the mangaka. Still passable though. Oh and, the art is also really good. Not to mention all the amazing sexual stuff and how well integrated into the actual plot fanservice-y type things often were. Fuck, I'm gonna re-read it again. Great manga.

Didn't enjoy it as much as the manga. They made Aoki feel attracted to and infatuated with Rin way too soon, whereas in the manga he actually developed a relationship with her based on trust and respect before he fell in love with her. Also, since someone else wrote the novel, it was missing the Watashiya inventiveness which was replaced by phoned-in and hackneyed scenes.

Not to mention the twist at the end which anyone who has read the manga can see miles away.
