Wow fuck episode 2. It really shat on everything good the first episode did. I don't want this character analyzing shit for me so she can compliment Decim. I want to analyze it myself and draw my own conclusion. That's the feeling I got from the OVA and the 1st episode while the ending gave away exactly what happened the reasons behind it weren't clear.

And I feel like you guys are jumping to conclusions when you act like Machiko's fate being a mistake somehow means she actually did nothing wrong and Takashi did everything wrong. It seems a lot more muddled to me. They both fucked up. You can make a case for either of them deserving the void. But Machiko legitimately tried to repair the damage as best she could at the end, and I think that's ultimately what made them (or Onna, at least; Nona seemed to see a deeper problem with Takashi) think she was probably the slightly better of the two.
