Post your face when your waifu's VA is decided like this
Tarou would have picked the correct VA instantly
The suffering never ends.
Also, she has some shit friends, considering none of them mentioned a word about it when they returned to the office the next day.
>zukas name will be appearing on these next
Tarou-san loves Aoi
Haha, infidelity soon.
Those planes... I thought they were F4 phantoms, but... Something looked off and I can't quite put my finger on it.
>>119889598
A word about what?
>>119889697
Oh, nevermind. I just looked at them and just figured out they are all different.
The F4 Phantom looks fine.
>>119889693
if he had just picked the correct girl at the start, it would have never got to this point.
>>119889490
Everybody knows that, what I want to see is what happens in the next episode with the other studio.
>>119889540
I had believed for so long that a source material's author having a say in the process of VA audition is not a a nice idea and they should let 'professionals' handle the business. This episode changed my thought a lot. Professionals my ass. Like you've said, Tarou would have done a way better job in five minutes
>>119889693
The two of them are going to get together?
Poor guy... It sucks when you think she loves you when suddenly you discover she is a lesbian.
I hope the new guy doesn't turn out to be Tarou 2.0. Everyone seems to hate him already but I hope he gets a nice arc where he learns to appreciate his coworkers and apologises for being kind of rude. He already knows he can be pushy so I hope we get a cute scene of him telling Aoi he never meant anything bad and just has trouble expressing himself or something. Then sex.
>>119889843
Professional means only one thing. Pay.
If you get paid, you are a professional.
>>119889540
Please, Tarou would have just gone with the same girls boobs-guy was pushing.
>literally not a single face posted
>>119889598
That's not being a shit friend; that's them properly separating their personal and professional obligations.
>>119889693
If only.
If this show had the ability and balls to do a serious and interesting arc about Endou and Segawa still having feelings for each other I would be delightedand aroused. Even with all the stress, though, the tone is still really too light to touch on it.
>>119889999
>literally
>>119889999

>>119889598
Her hairstyle in that scene looked kind of retarded
>>119889999
I am compelled to post this now.
>>119889915
Don't worry. Yano will come back to save Musani once again and teach that newbie some manner
Why didn't you push harder?
>>119889999
>>119889915
Taro, while incompetent at time. At least seems to be a genuine person. The new guy, while should be good at what he does, just feels sinister and scheming even though there's no reason for him to be.
Personally, I rather work with Tarou. I rather take work stress than office politic stress.
>>119890080
Why is Yano x asshole junior production assistant so best ship?
>>119890102
I want to sex her hair
>>119890102
I keep seeing this image, but I can't remember where it is from.

In his defense, she did have a nice rack.
>>119890088
Atmosphere of the room was too heavy for him.
>>119890088
>Jingly Jingly Heaven the literally historical shitbomb
>Exodus selling only average
Sure he has a lot of confidence in front of sponsors
The whole thing feels like it's based on actual conversations the staff making it have had.
Like, there's absolutely no way funnystory guy isn't a real person.
Me too, Shizuka. Me too. ;_;
>>119890178
Even his name is Makurada(枕田)
It really implies a lot, doesn't it?
Seriously, the 3 stooges deserved to be punched BUT they weren't even the beginning. I'm digging a grave for the "new guy" who implied Miyamori was getting by on sex appeal right now.
And the animator at the very end... "That director is picky, isn't he?"
Never has an anime made me want to punch more fictional people. NEVER.
>>119890180
> They didn't show the scene of her crying when she got home.
Too bad
Please refrain from sexualizing the bakos
>>119890180
Don't worry, Shizuka. You can open a bar in the first floor of the studio and work with them every day.
>>119890178
But what anime would they have been discussing if it actually happened?
>>119890095
He seemed to me more like he just has a slightly forceful personality and is emotionally constricted. I don't see him as scheming, just cold. Tarou seems genuine because he's overtly emotional and has no problem running his mouth off at every stupid thought that crosses his mind. New guy is just kinda autistic.
>>119890159
Yano with the cat ear jacket is too cute.
>>119890216
RAWS WHERE?
>>119890088
This episode definitely had a lot of Kantoku bullying. Even if he's often useless I felt bad for him.
>>119890095
Yeah, Tarou is incredibly tactless, completely unaware of his own incompetence, and generally grating, but he's not even the worst we've seen. New Dude is full of shit, manga editor dude is a lying dickbag, and the three stooges were all fucking horrible, horrible wastes of air.
>>119890216
One thing confirmed by manga is Misa is actual gay
>>119889693
He's already tied, you monsters.
Can you just ignore two married couples having the time of their lives?
All these new assholes made Tarou looks like a fucking saint.
Also I bet by some asspull Zuka ended up in the airplane anime. Maybe the selected VA hangs herself or something.
>>119889598
Isn't her VA a newbie too?
>>119890436
i don't believe you! that has to be doujin! cause otherwise she'd have more of a reaction finding out about zuka's misfortune of being dropped from the role
5K for Exodus isn't terrible considering there's the dark cloud of Jiggly Heaven and just returning from directing hiatus that would probably turn off people by principle. It's a step forward, at least.
>>119890498
Pretty sure almost all of the seiyuu for the main characters are newbies.
Cheating on your waifu is morally wrong.
Cheating on your wife with Segawa is morally wrong.
>>119890526
/a/ taught me that anything that doesn't make 10k is shit.
>>119890565
I don't think anyone's arguing it's right. But it'd be an interesting and daring storyline. Also hot.
The new guy has been changing studio for five times in five years.
I can imagine he never had a sentimentality over workplace which makes him rather cold in there.
But I believe he is a good guy, or at least doesn't have bad intention.
>>119890216
>>119890436
Noice.
>>119890495
i think zuka will end up with a relatively minor role of a side character. but her voice acting will end up making the character super popular.
the manga author, who had no interests about the anime project up to this point. will notice the sudden surge of zuka's character and decide to develop her into one of the center characters. and that's when zuka will finally get her break.
remember how the author hasn't done any further manga chapters AFTER the portion they're animating right now?
also, shizuka means 'silence' in Japanese, not sure if they were being ironic or actually dropping hint about her eventual failed career...
>>119890623
I don't think anyone in the show has outright bad intentions. Shirobako is just made to show how reasonably well-meaning people screw things up by being ignorant and annoying sometimes.
>>119889915
He's the jaded veteran who never got a break(or blew his shot once and never tried again) so he's jellymad some newbie with barely 2 years is already a step ahead of him.
>>119890689
Yeah, I can definitely see him being in conflict with Aoi over the fact that she has less experience but is in a higher role. I don't think that makes him a serious antagonist, though, it's a pretty understandable reaction and he'll probably learn to deal with it.
>>119890606
I thought we are agree that we have to compare the production and promotion budget to the sales to see if it's succesfull or not.
I was expecting someone cool like Honda or Ochiai, not a fuckhead.
>>119890742
No, sales=quality, unless it's a series I like that did poorly, in which case Japan has shit taste.
>>119890606
Forget about some random standard made by stupid /a/nons. Around 5k is a profit line and anything above it is not failure in business terms
Daily reminder that Rento, even with the connection of an ex-baseball player dad and a model older sister, couldn't make it as a seiyuu and is now a gravure model.
>>119890791
Not cool, nigger.
>>119890763
Ochiai wasn't cool, he just had no personality.
>>119890791
Who is she?
>>119890791
I bet her dad after hearing of her failure let his team gravure all over her.
>>119890791
Is that before or after? What's his dad's name?Interesting, she has the same birthday and blood type as Nozomi Toujou.
>>119890791
To be fair, even though she had a really pleasant voice, her acting was terrible.
>>119890864

Wow, anon was right.
Could someone tell Lelouch?
Zuka-chan will become a top-selling seiyuu in meantime and make more money in a month than all her friends do in a year. She will catch about three to four main roles each season without even audition, at least one stage event each month, and several radio programmes of her own. And then her new suffering will begin when some fat faceless stalkers hang around her place and she finds herself unable to make any time with her friends anymore, and reads some disgusting rumors spreading on the internet.;_;
>>119890995
She reminds me so much of myself and it kills me that I have no industries to break into or friends who want me to research things.

>Tarou doing anything right
>>119891101
No, Hatoko was a voice actress that's been established for years, she was Hitmonchan in tittymon, the beard in Buddy Complex, the girl that dies at the end in Sora no Otoshimono, and many more.
Based Honda. Would buy his cakes. Imagine you gently cleave off a piece of fluffy cheesecake that he made an hour ago. You scoop up that piece with your fork and you insert it into your mouth, where it melts into a gooey mess.
>>119891166
Give Tarou some credit, he actually watches and knows about anime. Way more than Aoi does at least.
>>119891131
If there's one thing Shirobako has completely avoided so far it's asspulls, so I'm not expecting there to be one.
Everyone thought (K)Anno would literally save Exodus by animating the horse scene himself, and they went with something much more realistic and well done instead.

She voiced pink Mayoi in Amagi last season, and IIRC was the winner of latest Miss Macross (previous winner was Nakajima Megumi).
>>119890791
She was already a gravure idol before voicing Rento for quite a while.
>>119891243
tarou is nice to have around to place the blames. ie, the one everybody picks on to keep a harmonious atmosphere in the office.
btw, i can totally see this happening. since they're constantly having back and forth banters. out of everybody in that office, she's the one who interacts with tarou the most. and i bet tarou probably made her laugh a few times while on the road to the hospital with her. or did a few stupid shit that made her forgot about her dad's illness for a few moments.

Being seiyuu is hard and the staffs here doing a good job in depicting it.
Just read here about Oozora Naomi, a newbie seiyuu that just got her big break last year in Noucome and IM@S CG.
Her monthly income was about 50000 yen (~$426 USD)
Her apartment is so insanely small and cluttered there is barely any space to even stand.
She trained her lung capacity by blowing up a giant plastic water bottle, and exercised on a 1000 yen used sit-up bench she got online.
Money was so tight that she regularly couldn’t afford to eat.
She would bring home left over bread crusts skimmed from sandwiches sold at one of her part time jobs.
On ‘special occasions’ she might use a fancy yakiniku sauce on said bread crust.
She tried out for over 40 auditions and only passed a single one for a tiny ‘Extras’ role in Dragonball Z: Battle of The Gods
But when she went to go see the movie, she couldn’t even hear her own voice in the scene.
Source: http://tumblr.paranda.net/tagged/Oozora-Naomi
read the whole post if you can, really good.
HAHAHAHA.
She may as well just start sucking dicks right there and then.

>>119891210
Having a "weak" character who's been with you all along suddenly turn out to be super strong in precisely the thing you need is a massively clichéd asspull, though.
>>119891458
It's certainly a stretch, but I could see it happening. Most likely Tarou will just continue to be the office joke character and get maybe one or two scenes where he says or does something profound and helpful.

What are we defining an "asspull" as, here? Because Sugie was never shown as a weak link, just unable to keep up with the moe trend, but it was obvious he had a ton of experience and we saw him at his desk animating animal characters beforehand. Everyone was waiting and wondering when he'd get his big moment.
>>119892258
Laughing my ass off here
>>119890661
I think the explanation will be simpler, like Shizuka Itou have to drop from Aerial Girls due to conflicting schedule or something like that, and since director already liking Zuka's audition then they will cast her.
>>119892258
I honestly don't know which one of them I wanted to hit more, the perverted douche, the corporate stooge or the one whose main issue I can't remember right now. Then funny story showed up and I felt my head start to hurt.

Sales and marketing departments are fucking important that you just do not know the difference in impact. There are tons of good things out there like games, mangas, animes, goods, services and so on. Good qualities do not mean good sales yet. I will give you one example where the help of marketing can boost the sales and help the product from being dead in real life.

The 3rd one wanted someone who was popular, which is a pretty reasonable thing to be insistent about, popular voice actors dramatically boost characters appeal and as such boost merchandise sales and BDs. It makes it even more reasonable when you consider that Aerial Girls is apparently a super popular LN.

>Miyamori was getting by on sex appeal
He never said that
>>119896493
No. It's just a parody of all cute-girls-doing-military-things -things that have been very popular. Not a direct reference to anything. Kancolle was G-colle or something like that in Shirobako
>>119890606
You clearly haven't been around the proper sales threads. There's the manabi line, and depending on several factors (cheaper animation, the show being the studios own IP) you could be profitable around 4-5k or it would take more. 10k is generally considered a hit, 25k+ is a big hit.
>>119896493
It's Strike Witches.

Misa: death by caffeine intoxication. Prior to that she worked almost 20 hours straight for doing dogfight CG
Zuka: death by hanging. She left a last will for Musani, the company that rejects her last hope for her seiyuu career
Midori: death by bleeding. She cut her hand because she can't draw cat for the plane mark
That leaves us with Diesel-chan. Probably because of her work in Musani, her grade in college will drop hard, and soon she'll walk to the despair route.

I'm not getting that vibe from him. He seems pretty confident and not bitter. He just nonchalantly criticizes others. He probably doesn't mean anything personally.
The only thing I can think of is that he wants to to a lower studio so that he can work himself up, get experience and then go to a better studio. That would give him a motive to sabotage Miyamori but I don't think he's that sinister.

Since Hiraoka wasn't at the series of interviews that Doujin-chan and Ghibli-chan are coming from, chances are this was something done courtesy of Nabe-P himself, either because he was looking for experienced free agents or because Hiraoka was looking for openings. This obviously means looking into his background.
Nabe-P wouldn't hire someone if all of his previous workplaces gave him bad reviews, especially now that they're doing a project as important as this. The expectations are high, to say the least.
Chances are Hiraoka's previous workplaces just downsized after completing a big project, or things of that sort. Transience isn't that uncommon in the industry, I'm sure.
