It's the story about a girl keeping a promise with her dead mom (no getting dinged in the head and being a good girl) and how those clowns are gonna inspire the real Yattermen descendants to become the kind of Yattermen that Leopard admired.

I know this is a chinese cartoon and all, but that doesn't mean he has to be an exact clone of him physically.

If you want exact clones of Doronjo, Tonzura, and Boyacky (or more precisely Marjo, Grocky, and Walther) then there's the other Time Bokan series.

I picked it up just for some nostalgia fuel and got pretty shocked.

But I liked it.
The doronbo gang, aka the only thing anyone ever cared about this serie, is still wonky and bro-tier so I'm fine.

The only problem i see with adaptation is how "perfect" the main cast is now.

The big appeal of original was that they were already likable anyway, but had their weaknesses and bad character traits that made them even more fun.

To make this authentic Yatterman - they should screw up, a lot. Doronjo should be not just pure naive heroic girl, but also vulnerable to compliments, a bit vain and actually very insecure and scaredy cat while trying to act demure.

Boyaki is loyal to core and gets all the blame, and Tonzura is a bro.

Also - regular gardrobe malfunctions and molesting Leopard...also her being loli, they`ll probably tone down it - but its impossible without such key attribute of show.

People are really just guessing that they are based on the fact that they're voiced by Hiroyuki Yoshino and Shizuka Itou, the voice actors for Gan and Ai in the 2008 series.

Itou voices Leopard's mom too which is why some are theorizing that there's some Yatterman lineage mixed up there as well.
