As a positive, it might cull this trend of every shitty half-assed battle school/harem-ish LN in existence getting adaptations. Original anime that are successful can save studios because they own all the licensing; if they need hits just to survive then their ambitions will grow.

So no matter how bad it gets, it will in all likelihood come back with a vengeance within a year or two once the rest of the world stops scrutinizing.

This industry makes too much money for them to just slay and leave dead in the water, especially at a time where they need any unique economic edge they can get because they are getting in many ways outdone in the world in their usual economic backbone of electronics, however anime is exclusively theirs.

Why do you think regular anime would be affected at all? It's the h-manga, eroge and h-doujinshi markets that could be hit hard by this. "School/harem-ish LN" adaptations aren't going anywhere, at worst they'll be labelled as "weird", but porn of said LN adaptations definitely won't be looked at as favourably by the rest of the world. Think the Wani shitstorm turned up several magnitudes.
